The thermostat in the house is set on 78F which most people would consider too warm. DH is using a blanket because he is so cold that he has chill bumps! I am reluctant to turn the a/c up to 80F but might do it for a few hours until DH warms up.

Monthly trip to the bank for cash has been accomplished and the various dominations put in their assigned spot.

I miss Blessedw2 posting. I hope she is doing okay.

One of DH cousins called to chat. They have been talking about childhood memories they had together for over 30 minutes and still going. It makes my heart happy to hear DH laughing and enjoying being fully able to have a conversation about things he remembers.

DD15 has spent an entire month with DD50! This is the first DD50 has kept DD15 that long. I remain cautiously hopeful as they continue to build their relationship. DD15 has a 4 month old puppy (large breed mutt) that stays by her side 24/7. That means we will have another house dog when DD15 returns here.

Well, I finally got my taxes filed and that’s over and done with. Thank goodness I’m so glad to get it out of the way.

We went to PetSmart afterwards and bought some food and shampoo and extra treats so Amelia will have lots of goodies to eat. I took her to the vet yesterday and she still has ear mites. They’re having a difficult time getting rid of them, but they think they found a way to do it. She had an upset tummy twice yesterday So I fed her eat easy things and this morning she was starving.

Lady M… I have grown Lantana for many years both in Alabama and in Arizona and now here and have never seen any berries on any of my bushes.

Lucy Lee… I have heard of mounts on the engine going bad on a vehicle the age of yours. I talked to Sweetie… remember he built his car from the ground up… and said the mounts are made of rubber included in a metal tube and over time will deteriorate over time.

However if your mechanic has checked the mounts over and told you that you have time before they need to be replace, Sweetie said that sounded right to him as well.

LadyM… I keep sugar free ice pops in my freezer because Sweetie is suppose to eat jut one a day..he never remembers either which is why I bought these ice pops… they’re only 25 calories a piece.

Good evening! Roofer came -- we had dishes and dining table presentable before they arrived. However, there's not much they can do at the moment -- the darn raccoons are back! We saw one peeking out while we were looking from the ground. I am hoping it was desperate for fresh air and not rabid. (Nobody got near the roof, so it couldn't have been a matter of them being disturbed.) So, we have to get the trapper back. *sigh*

Did the dishes in shifts with the kids so nobody had to spend more than 10 minutes in the kitchen at a time, with 20 minutes off.

Had to drive DC to play practice. Going outside to the car was not uncomfortable until I stepped out of the shade of the house -- then BAM! The thermometer on the dash said 99F while driving; I forgot to check when I first got in and it had been sitting in the sun. The thermostat in the dining room, which has been open to the a/c since noon, says 85. Those 14 degrees make a huge difference. Not looking forward to sleeping, though; the temperatures are not expected to go down to anything comfortable.

Joining you in wishing blessed well, LadyM. When last we saw her, she certainly had a lot on her plate.

Not sure what I'm going to do next. DH will still be at Scouts for another half hour, then it will be time to go get DC, so I can't put Jeopardy on, and the Guards played this afternoon, so there's no game to watch now. Maybe I will pull out some embroidery -- I've got not quite 13 weeks to pull 10 of these together. Maybe I should go check out the craft thread. Have a good evening!

Got the chicken de-boned in the pregame.
Got my red white and blue on, a new shirt for the 4th worked for the game today too.
Looking forward to Mon. when they play again.

Rose -- thank you for checking on that with your Sweetie! When I picked up the Tahoe today, the mechanic let me watch under the hood while he started the car and gave it gas. I could certainly see the engine shift position and the mechanic said it is NOT supposed to do that. But again, he said it would be okay to wait a month or two, so I told him I definitely would be back; I'm just trying to let my bank account settle a little since the huge expense of that roof.
He said the hesitation I feel at times when I start up is probably not related to the engine mount, but just something that is relatively common with these models. He does not think there is anything wrong with the transmission, and I think he did drive it a little bit to check the door lock problem. I guess I'll just have to wait till that goes out completely so he can replace whatever is broken.

It's been a day.

Dmom came to my house and we went to Wmart in her car -- got microwave & vacuum
Went to shop to get my Tahoe
I went to her house, unloaded the microwave and vacuum, put the microwave on the counter & assembled the vacuum,
... helped her hang a picture (and we still think it's about a quarter inch out of level with the one beside it )
... tried to call dealership to make an appt for her to have a fuel pump recall done, had to leave number, they never called back
... left, remembered I had forgotten the meatloaf she wanted me to bring home, turned around and went back.
Went to Sonic for my comfort drink of late -- Fanta orange with vanilla and sweet cream...
Went to drug store for allergy syringes they had to order yesterday...
Post office...
Home... it is so hot...
Took a nap.
Walked the driveway a couple of times -- we had a thunderstorm and rain and it cooled off sooo much! It was really nice outside around 7:00 p.m.
Finally heated up the meatloaf, and realized, I'm just not crazy about meatloaf. Dmom said she knew I'd probably want it more "done," and she was right. I want my meatloaf to be kinda browned/crispy? on top, you know. This one just had too much sauce in it. I decided I just didn't want that for supper. I ate cereal and crackers. I hate to return the plate to her because she'll probably ask, and I'll tell her I ate some of it but that ds is really more of the meatloaf lover in the family.
Reconciled the checkbook. Well, I'm using the term loosely. The $475 "bonus" the bank seems to think I have has jumped up to $511 this month. Chat says I should go back to the months before and after it first appeared, and I will probably find it. Right now, I'm just going to enjoy this mystery bonus, I guess. If I ever find it, I'll be back to worrying if I'm a penny off each month. It has occured to me that it could be a SeatGeek sale that I didn't record last fall. Someday I'll look in to that.
