I feel like I haven't had a minute to myself today, between dh planning to cook on Monday and the tree damage, and trying to get the house ready for company on Monday and being out of the house tomorrow for V's birthday. This houseguest friend;wife is quite well-meaning but sometimes she says things that are better not said - one time she commented on the stain at the top of the stairs and told me how to treat it....lol. But now there's also two places where I think ddog peed at one time. Dh did some clean up there, and is going to vacuum in the a.m. This lady can be quite intense. I enjoy her at time, but not all the time, lol. (I've meant to get Stanley Steemer in and try to clean it but you know where good intentions end up on the road.

Of course, sleeping in so late had something to do with me feeling time pressure.

i think the plan for tomorrow is that we're having brunch early with the dfriends who will be houseguests on Monday. And going from there to the river. Both houseguest wife and V have birthdays tomorrow. The river will be hot because they've invited a few people. High supposed to be 87, though, a break from today's 92 (feels like 100.) Our humidity is lower, and I don't think we have a heat advisory beginning tomorrow.

I started the load of laundry I've been needing to start all day. Before we went to cemetery, before we went to Lowes, and since.

Have been hearing today about a lot of folks who needed to change plans because of heat, LadyM, but there's wisdom in it, for sure. Hope the meal was good.

Cathy, I hope your lawn service problems resolve soon. Sometimes the companies say they can't come until it's been dry long enough?

Twins', yipes, that must have been some storm. When I hear about your work on cemetery I sometimes think I dodged a bullet without intending it. Remembering that was going to be me except for sudden reversal on allowing women to have job descriptions. Please do be careful. In addition to storm or other surprise damage, cemeteries are notorious for generally surprising footing in the first place. Also, I once had to rush to take a dcousin to a pharmacy nurse when she was badly bitten by ants, too.

Kittykatt, I misread "later" for "letter" and thought you were taking responsibility for an entire church newsletter while having to wrestle your printer at the same time! When I had that responsibility it took days, believe me. Did the menu print out the way you'd hoped?

I've mopped and done some laundry, spot-cleaned the rug in the den. Next up, the hall.

Well I thought there was another game nope...
I have some sounds of the season on now mostly to distract ddoggo.

Deciding to make peanut butter loaf I got some that is not the right carb. count but will work
for lows & I can freeze em up. I did get two cake mixes for that one ch. & one yellow. I've not
made that before so I am looking forward to that.

We have a red flag warning up and it's windy out now at just before 5 a concern
right before the fireworks display they have by the high school each year here.

DS17 is done with remote west Texas and ready to come back home. The novelty quickly wore off. I tried talking them into waiting until tomorrow, but they are packing up and heading home. I will be surprised if they make it home before sunrise.

I suspect I won't be getting much sleep tonight.

AHA! No wonder the person thought we had a "big" property. He's still in high school. He's been going around his neighbourhood with a wagon on the back of a bike. I asked him where he lived and it's 10 minutes from here in a car. We explained that we only needed weed whacking done, no grass cutting.

I don't think it's going to work, but I would like to see if the "kid" gives it a try. He had his dad drive him here today. The father praised his son up, down and sideways. On top of his age, the whole family is going to their cottage and won't be back until 8 days from now.

I know that some teenage boys have what it takes to do stuff like this. I'm hoping we will be lucky.

Well, I kept going and did another small laundry load, cleaned the bathtub although it needs more attention.

Outside, I sprayed the foliar fertilizer I mixed. I could hear fireworks and some voices appreciating it somewhere - couldn't see any, though.
