Well-Spent Wednesday PWYC

Walked Amelia early this morning but didn’t go to class. The top of my left foot is acting ion. I had surgery on my left big toe and I’m sure it’s just acting up.

Went to see Josh today and he really worked on my shoulders an back. Was sore when I left his office but Tylenol has helped it.

We had two fierce thunder storm yesterday with lightning hitting class to my home. One was in the afternoon and the other later in the evening

Talk with my brother yesterday.. he lives in the part of NJ that has been flooding and without power. He has a huge tomato garden and I was concern that the storms may have damaged that Turns out all is well.

He is known in the area as mister tomatoe man because his plants produce so many tomato’s. He uses them to make tomato sauce for the winter. One of his friends recently ask what my brothers secret was for growing tomatoes. Seems he was having a hard time with his

My brother told him he keeps the bottom of the stalks trimmed to allow the air to circulate around the plant. My brother usually lets his plants grow 10 feet tall. He ties them with sting to the arbor above the garden, but this year has decided to keep them shorter. He alway trying new things for his garden.

Y'all probably.realize this means we drove many towns away.

Have never been there before, sort of large. Purchased very little really because of overwhelm and knowing there is fabric at home. But one practical purchase, one small one I admire and small novelty so fun accomplished.

The house was so very quiet for a long time when dh went to Costco. Now he's watching the world cup and I can hear it in the background but there's no constant chatter going.

I am loving the quiet. He's out bowling tonight too.

Quilt shop and World cup games sounds like fun for those who enjoy.

DH appt with family doctor went off without a hitch. His A1C was 5.3 so BSugar is well controlled. Family doctor ordered several follow-up tests to compare with past test results. One of the test is something that DH has never had - a five day in home EEG test. DH has had EEG tests but all of them have been done in the hospital for a couple hours at a time. I'm not sure how the in-home 5 day test will be ....I'm thinking having 20+ things stuck on DH head with cords recording for 5 days is going to be full of challenges, but we will see how it goes. The doctor expressed his frustration with lack of response from neurologist office where the referral has been sent multiple times. They gave me the neurologist contact information and encouraged me to call repeatedly asking for an appointment.

I think I have been in the kitchen ALL DAY!

There is rhubarb in the freezer which dh brought in for me earlier.
There is a warm banana bread on the counter.

I have prepped the veggies to make fajitas. Just waiting to start cooking in 10 minutes or so.
I also boiled 16 eggs because dh has really been enjoying them. I peel them and put them in a zippered bag.
I cut up a small watermelon and it's in the fridge in the biggest bowl we have.

I have also been washing pots and pans. All the baking stuff is already washed and put away.

PLUS I am watching/listening to the baseball game.

Dh is sleeping.

Wondering what Cathy S. is going to do with the rhubarb. Your house smells amazing.
I cooked cauliflower not as good of a smell.
Had a good talked with DD & Dsis.

Snack type lunch for me it was late.

Not a lot going on I did make the bed.
It's warmed up outside.

Some good news neighbors sold a cab over camper set up after a relative passed; and a different one
as well for some one else also elderly I believe. They were elated about that!

Cathy, let me see if I can speak your language - 517 was my choice for my recent project. I thought it might be too vivid, but it turned out to call just enough attention. We went by an old thread and floss dyeing plant today. HRH has been inside on a few occasions, and he said the vats there are huge, would dye in one batch more than a person could stitch in a lifetime. He doesn't know you, does he?

Bloodwork impatience isn't HRH's problem. But waiting for an appt is. He keeps checking the time and making sarcastic comments. He watches to see if someone who arrived later may get called earlier. Eye doctor is the worst and I keep telling him it's because there are multiple doctors so it's a complete variable as to who is being seen by whom. He always has patience at bloodwork, and I think it's because they are always so nice to him (he is known as a "hard stick", and I bet it's written down on his "chart" that he has been through some tough times).

Nancy and 5 a.m. alarm! Awwww... .. can't be mad, though. Too much of a sweetie.

But LadyM, my goodness. Ds actually asked you if you KNEW dh was outdoors? lol Was he out with friends himself or working on vehicles, or did he see out a window with as much surprise as you? Happy for dh on that good A1C number.

I have a different sleep problem every night - it gets humorous. But last night was pretty predictable: pills that are to be taken later for one reason or another causing problems with having to drink or eat so that my schedule or tummy is affected. I've been trying to take the silly potassium in the evening because it bothers me in the daytime (possible cause of hand cramps), and last night it made my tummy feel funny. So then, tried to eat something to correct that. Sigh. Bad ideas all around.

blessed, so cool that your dmother's room has become the nicest room in the house. You all have looked forward to this project being finished. I hope she enjoys, and so does the family.

Ramblin', that sounds like sensible advice for tomatoes from your brother, avoiding turtles, some other critters, maybe some disease. I remember a season/time (lasted a few years) of advice from gardening magazines that was suggesting just let them sprawl as long as you mulched, because you got just as much harvest, ultimately. I didn't find that to be accurate, and in fact wondered if the articles were written by some deer or a turtle neighbor we had, and I think I was back to caging by the next year but did try the bush tomatoes next and enjoyed them. When I was a girl, my ddad always just let tomatoes sprawl, but I think all the critters were scared of him.

Harriet I have been self-diagnosed with that particular affliction known to most crafters as SABLE". Stash Acquired Beyond Life Expectancy. Not as rare as one would think, it's a world-wide pandemic with no known cure other than "stitch all day, every day, morning, noon and night".

Last night I had gone to sleep around 10pm assuming DH was down for the night. DS17 and friend was working in the shop taking a pickup motor apart when DH showed up in his PJ's around 1am. DS17 called me on the phone to alert me. DH response very well to my instructions so I walked outside and told DH that he needed to come get back into bed.
I will start reminding DH every night that he needs to stay in bed until 5am (at least).

DS17 and Finace16 cleaned his bedroom and bathroom including rearraigning furniture. I'm not placing bets on how long it will stay clean, but I'm pleased they decided to do it.

There are currently 4 teenagers here working on vehicle in the shop. They prefer to start working about dusk because the night air is cooler.

Made an online order for clothes for HRH - he chose some new casual shoes, I picked out a few other things I want him to have.

Also ordered replacement of a good concentrated organic fertilizer I've used up, and what may be more practical blue-blocker computer glasses. Inexpensive, anyway.

lucylee, it's great that your lawn service guy continues in such good health. I guess it really does make sense for him to continue if he can whenever he can work it out with his wife's needs. I used to know volleyball rules, etc. but have forgotten what I knew when dd27 used to play.

Ran the irrigation for half the garden tonight, finishing up well after dark. I may water more in the a.m.
