◕‿◕ * * * Good Morning! * * * ◕‿◕

Good afternoon to Euro-SHEs.

Kittykatt, thanks for the start. very interesting theme for the week, operas. I'm learning a lot. Sorry about the lady who was murdered, I caught a climpse of the news, even when you don't politically like someone, it must be disturbing to hear about the murder of a retired lady MP.

I hope to see you later Doggedly.

kitkat thanks for your concern, I'm here. So you have two versions of your MR ?

L.Ann I was wondering too if the weather was cool enought for a walk outside. ANyway I guess you can walk inside too.

helia, yay for an empty calendar.

We are inside the home, all blinds closed, and it's hot. We are under another heatwave red alert. It's difficult to get things done with low energy. I went outside in the morning to talk to the library and post office, then we closed everything off to keep the "cool" (not that cool, after several days of heat and an orange-color alert, now red since yesterday noon).
I took next Monday off since Tuesday is the 14th of July (Bastille Day) and natinoal day.
We are supposed to leave tomorrow morning for a three day trip touring the city of Saint Nazaire and La Baule (Atlantic coast, not a long trip for us), but the heat is demotivating.

TADAs
morning stuff
trip ot post office to get parcel DM sent for DS7almost8 's birthday
trip to library with the kids
read a bit
MrNG made lunch
not entirely cleaned up
kind of a nap
then read some more
now tea, and my brain is awake enought to go online
soon DS7almost8 will ask for help on the Zelda video game (it's gorwn-up-level, no wonder he needs help)

TODO
stay indoors and stay as cool as possible
pack bags for the three day trip.
dinner will be pizza, and some raw veggies, probably celery and cucumber
maybe a movie
bed as early as we can , as soon as we convince the kids to go to bed

FFB, I hope the coast will be cooler and enjoyable.
kittykatt, I am sorry to hear about the murder of a MP. Does that rock the nation even if retired? Our local theatre company did a brief version of HMS one summer. I t was a fun event.
helia, I'm sure you will find something to fill the day, of just what you would like to do
doggedly, hooray for laundry done.
kitkat, glad you had a good outing with the girls.
l.ann, you continue your exercises so faithfully, keeping your knee doing well I hope?

It's hot here too, currently 84 but heat index 96 with humidity, no breeze, no shade. Of course, it's summer!
Bunnies ate some of my second planting of beans; today I did a 3rd planting. I soaked the seeds overnight, so hopefully they will sprout quickly in the very warm soil.
Then I WORKED on removing the weed vines, thistles, and branches from bushes that are growing into my side of the yard through a fence placed by a former neighbor, with the understanding that they would maintain BOTH sides.... They no longer live there. It is now rented, to a single dad with 4 autistic children, plus an older daughter who is married to Charlotte (who has a male appearing body) and those 2 live in the basement with their newborn son. ) Anyhow - theirs is a very busy household, and no one maintains the yard on their side, let alone my side. So I decided that I would just take that project on. I cleared overgrown weeds on my side, along about 50 feet of fence in this heat. There's about 30 feet to go, plus a couple woody roots that I need to paint with some liquid that is at mother's house. Anyhow, it's a big job, and I was pleased to get that much done. And I have enough sense to come in and not jsut say I have to finish the job and end up dehydrated and unable to do anything else.
Every time i have been out working in the yard, I get bitten- so today I wore long jeans, put a hair binder around the hem; thick socks in my work boots, long sleeve shirt. Came in and stripped to skin and put everything into the washer and took a shower.
I think the rest of the day will be lighter activities.
I didn't finish my K table yesterday, although I tried! And the DR table needs attention too.
Plus I should visit dfBS.
MrVKM headed to a resort for a week with his brother and sil. He's so excited to have something fun to do. He loves to fish. I hope he has a good time. (He's been calling me just about every day since he retired. )

Now I'm ready to drink again.

I have plenty of things to do today, Gma, including payroll. If I just relaxed today, it wouldn't be good. -Oh, those rascally rabbits!
WTG on the detailed cleaning, L Ann. Dh did some detailed cleaning in the MBR this morning.
FFB, I googled those 2 towns, and they look like interesting places to visit. I suppose you'll go to the beach at L Baule?

Taking a lunch break and cooling down after a hot jog. I've stopped sweating. After lunch, I'll s2s and have some qt and then join dh at a coffee shop, I hope. There, I'll do payroll and other paperwork type stuff. Maybe I'll take 30 minutes and just read a book!!

Next:
- after lunch clean up
- s2s and self care
- squeegee and wipe down shower

Later:
- s2s and self care
- make the bed
- reclaim the kitchen
- some qt
- after lunch clean up
- payroll: GGT emails
- payroll: make exam for AAS
- payroll: make practice exam for AAS
- payroll: map out this weeks' tutorials
(- payroll: progress on TOEFL materials) - if time
- figure out if I can return a pair of shoes
- figure out if I can return the wrong coffee pods
- pay snail mail bills: property tax X2, lawn guys
- update good reads
- make menu plan for next week
- lists in notebook
- WF for dinner ingredients
- dinner: spinach ravioli, tomato sauce, roasted veggie of some sort
- after dinner clean up
- duolingo
- update MFP
- update WW
- read fun book!

TaDas!
- up; weighed self

- touched base with dd28
- back exercises
- Jogged to dog park ~ 2 miles
- visited with dd28, Fable, many other friendly dogs, and eventually also dd30

helia, I hope you do take a break to read a book ! Yes we will probably spend some time at the beach but maybe only after 8pm. It's not decided yet.

Gma, one of MrNG's gardening friend keeps his bean seeds in the freezer, and puts them directly from the freezer into soil on a hot day, he says the thermic shock helps accelerate the sprouting. I wish you success on your gardening project. You are so busy, with all this heat.

L.Ann it's 36° Celsius in the shade this late afternoon, 97 ° Fahrenheit. The temps don't go down during the night, hence the "red alert" warning : bodies don't get a respite, it's impossible to cool down the houses by opening the windows at night. And in France most houses don't have A/C. It's the second heatwave in 3 weeks, it should get milder by Monday, fortunately.

It's now as hot outside as inside, it's past 8pm. We can open the blinds again. MrNG is preparing burgers for the kids. We went for a slow walk (him and me), 30 minutes without the kids, and it was a nice time. I like when we can have shared time, even short bits, leaving the kids at home.
So much screen time the kids are having on days like this ! But it's difficult to find activities with so much heat outside.

TADAs
a lol out on drying rack
walk with MrNG (1 mile approx)
convinced the kids to switch the TV off while dinner is cooking

TODO
maybe another quick lol in
maybe a shower
decide on family movie
pack bags with the kids
bed as early as we can , as soon as we convince the kids to go to bed

started laundry
had pup out/ gave ear drops

Hi, all. When you're having a day where the laws of physics are suspended, it is important to simplify your goals.
I got up quite late as I had gone to bed late. I went to the bathroom and emerged to find my apartment was now covered in dog poop. Germane, being a very little dog, was not required to invite a pack of her friends to help produce this quantity, as the laws of physics are suspended. So I spent the first hour picking up poop and washing the floor and cleaning up pee pads and washing the floor etc. While racking my brains to remember everything that I had given Germane to eat yesterday. I'm happy to say that she had an appetite, so although she is not well, she is well enough as it were.

After all this, I needed to sit down and eat. I put together a quick bowl of vegetables and rice. I started to add soy sauce, and found it pouring down my hand, on my napkin, the table, the floor. I missed the wall and the ceiling. Cleaned it all up and tried again: not as bad, but I still had soy sauce on the back of my hand and my palm etc. Cleaned it up. Lest we think that this is a trait peculiar to brewed soy sauce from Korea, look at the hot sauce from Thunder Bay. Tried to squirt some into my bowl, got hot sauce on the backs of my fingers. Can we have some physics, please? Mine seems to be not working.

Very true, Kittykatt. I expect to leave my apartment sometime today, with sufficient covering to comply with all the norms of decency.

That was a late night, kitkat. I couldn't get the laundry room before the evening, and laundry is a long activity for me. I am happy to leave the laundry room to you today.

I'm glad that you got a break from the heat, L.Ann.

50 floors sounds jaw-dropping, helia. WTG! And woo hoo for a rare free calendar day.

I am sorry that you are back in a heatwave, FrenchFly. Europe just can't catch a break this summer, it seems. A trip to the Atlantic Ocean sounds refreshing. Are you able to swim in it, or is it too cold?

That sounds like a big job in the yard, Gma, but you made good progress.

Saturday
Washed floor to reach Germane’s pee pads
Changed Germane’s pee pads
Heart pill for Germane
Washed more floor
Changed Germane’s pee pads
Germane’s second bout
Cleaned up after her
Breakfast for Germane, including rice and probiotic

Germane has been sleeping happily for the past hour, so I might be okey to spiff myself (with an ample supply of laundered clothing) and do some of my errands.

That is so hot, FFB. Keep cool. I just checked and our apartment in Avignon has central air conditioning. I just hope it's working. Our apartment in Barcelona also has a.c, but I'm not sure it's central.
Was it a good book, L Ann?
WTG getting the 3 bathrooms cleaned, kitkat. I try to do the 2 (more like 1.5) upper ones at the same time, but I always focus on the main one that guests will use. I don't clean the bathroom that M uses anymore, though maybe I should check to make sure she's cleaning it well.
Oh dear, Doggedly. I hope the laws of physics kick in properly for you soon.

I'm sitting outside at a neighborhood coffee shop with dh now. Soon, I'm going to go pick up some grilling items from WF for dinner tonight. I've done some payroll and had a brainstorm about my tutee; I have 2 levels of a series of books that are great for getting students speaking in complete sentences, which is what I want him to do. The illustrations are almost like a comic book. I'm going to try that with him this week.

Next:
- update goodreads
- go to WF
- prep food for the grill

Later:
- some qt
- payroll: make exam for AAS
