I love happy ending, kittykatt. Sounds like a wonderful children's book. (I read a lot, but never encountered that one. We read Betsy, Tacy books by local author Maude Hart Lovelace; the Bobbsey Twins; Nancy Drew mysteries when I was growing up. I read Little House on the Prairie series to my son for afternoon naptime stories when he was young, and a large variety of short books as bedtime stories.
Helia, the temp is more pleasant than high 90s, but here the humidity is 85%, dew point 69 - just below the critical 70, so it's not great working outside. Better than 90 tho! I remember when I couldn't wait for days when it would hit 90 - that really felt like summer. My aging body says, please don't submit me to working in that heat this year!
L.ann, great to get that walk in early and have breakfas t with friends!
I hope trissie and family enjoy time at the cottage.

I have ben out working on the fence line today - cut back all the woody stems and painted them. I'll do it again in the autumn if I find the time and energy. Came in and showered, hopefully to wash off any chiggers hiding in the grass, then trying to find my blood as a source of food.
Heading to mother's where my dbro and sil are staying. Then fill the day, and make sure to take a rest and drink plenty.

I was sitting at my desk drinking my coffee when I thought that I heard a faint rhythmic banging over the TV and air conditioner, and remembered that I haven't heard Extendicare's yearly summer concert from next door yet. So I turned off Deutsche Welle and turned off the air conditioner, and sure enough it's the concert. Here's the surprise: when I moved in here eight years ago, it was Dixieland. Today they are playing Bachman Turner Overdrive, which is hard rock from my youth. I think this means that their oldest residents have passed, and the majority of the people in the long term care facility are in my age group. Oh yes, we're getting Bryan Adams now. I won't open the patio door to listen, as we are forecast for humidex of high 40's and the sky is so hazy from wildfire smoke that I have the lights on in the apartment, but I can hear well enough from here. It's a yearly treat from living next door to the long term care facility. I wish for their sake that they had better weather for their outdoor concert.

Thank you for starting us off, Kittykatt. WTG on getting your gardening in before it got too hot and sunny.

I hope that everything goes well at the lawyer's, L.Ann.

Enjoy your "least scheduled" day, helia!

Oh, I remember the Bobbsey Twins books, Gma. I used to read them and Trixie Beldon. Did you read Honeybunch And Norman books? They were mystery books for new readers who weren't ready for the Bobbsey Twins yet.

Heading to the gym and then the grocery store but wanted to list accomplishments so far. I got 2 things done that have been sitting on my brain dump: (1) snail mail bills and (2) a call in to the Dr. to request med for altitude sickness.

Next:
- gym: stair stepper
- Kroger
- put groceries away
- start payroll

Later:
- make bed
- gym: stair master
- update lists
- payroll: prep tutorial for tomorrow
- payroll: sub plans for AAS D6 tomorrow
- payroll: finalize midterm test
- payroll: set up S6 exam prep checklist sheet
- graduation card + gift for AR ready for the mail
- Kroger order for groceries? - or just go myself
- put away groceries
- dinner (only me): leftover olive chicken, rice, hummus, veggie TBD (perhaps slices of red pepper and cucumber)
- after dinner clean up
- garbage and recycling to the curb
- duolingo
- update WW
- update MFP

TaDas!
- up; weighed self - down
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website
- ordered hiking sticks for trip
- s2s and self care
- reclaim kitchen
- KS2J get together
- home; back exercises
- some qt
- lunch
- after lunch clean up
- back exercises
- dressed to exercise
- finished menu plan + groc. list
- 3 snail mail bills ready for the mail
- Stitch Fix check out
- called Dr; either they'll prescribe the med OR a nurse will call me
- checked accounts after paying summer property tax x2

Hello, everyone!

L.Ann, a small group for breakfast still sounds nice!

Helia,.I'm glad you enjoyed the book - it was one of my favourites growing up.

Gma, that sounds very hot and sticky weather. I remember reading at least one Bobbsey Twins book - not sure how it turned up my side of the Pond! That's a very good idea to revisit those woody stems later in the year - in my experience these things often need more than one application, despite the claims on the label!

Enjoy your free concert, Dogged!

I have a clean and tidy sitting room, and a box of freshly picked blackberries that need to be frozen tomorrow - DF CW asked me to go for a walk with her this evening, and we picked lots of blackberries. DH was not amused at my suggestion that blackberries, ice cream amd cake would constitute supper! I'm now relaxing on the sofa,.with Matilda on my lap.

They are saying on the news that it's the hottest day of the year so far, we have a severed storm warning, and the forest fire smoke is so strong that I can smell it inside my apartment. I am happy inside my apartment.

Hi, helia.

WTG on all that you got done, Kittykatt.

Tuesday
Put away dry laundry
Put away laundry rack
Drained air conditioner X 2
Cleaned up after dog
Heart pill for Germane
Put away dry dishes.
Called animal hospital to renew her meds. Was put on hold, which is fine. Did not realize that I was no longer on hold when I asked Germane β€œDid you do a good pee like a good girl?” Astonished the receptionist.
Lounged and indulged in non-productive computer browsing
Bagged garbage and brought it to basement
Checked mail
