Funniest thing I have Picked Up and Put Away today:

Well, there was Mystery's Motivation under my coffee table... .. no, she got it back, and it was sort of hers in the first place.

Funniest thing, HRH and I have agreed, actually, was dgs's ROCK, which he THOUGHT was maybe quartz, only it wasn't but by then he liked it and was SAVING it because it was cute :| . And then forgot and left in our den. :| It's in a flower planter now. Compromise is a good thing.

Decluttering and kitchen spiffing happening here.
Grocery delivery on the way, ready for that.

For several years I had the habit of looking around in the garage on trash day to see what could quietly go into the trash without anyone else in the family noticing....I guess I finally got all the easier pickins'
trash card (I love d nancy's card: Pitch & Toss Day!)
Did those five, and also took care of the info to power company re lines on the ground. Not sure if Roomba will be able to continue - I'll get it in if this storm is blowing rain in. Also (yes, I'm all over) emailed a cemetery report for the temple board meeting and similar article for newsletter, and stipulated that the so called editor of newsletter should use the photos I sent to temple admin for the newsletter - if he wants - not the ones that his wife took. (She had about forty - I chose two, lol. I know he wouldn't use forty but I wanted the most illustrative.)

Since then:
-prepped and ate late brunch
-got the roomba in because it was raining and blowing in
-talked to neighbor also on HOA board about the guy who said he'd be prez who hasn't done anything at all....she's going to remind him that things need to happen, and we had people who volunteered to be prez if he's not going to follow through. She's blunter than I am, which is wonderful. I've been kind of stewing over his inaction.
-dneighbor and I also talked about notices sent over a month ago re: landscaping issues - one neighbor has not complied....next step should be fining them?
-email or text neighbor re stuff in the garage to go to a charitable org that she supports - she will pick stuff up from neighbors
-Cemetery checkbook, and write check for work last week, get it ready to mail
-talked to a member of cemetery board about the amphitheatre construction and got contact info for the company doing that (need to coordinate irrigation work)
-called fence company about getting an estimate for the fence that is down at the cemetery
Has anybody seen my motivation? Trying to make myself do things.
I'm trying to make myself do things but I'm trying to do too many things at once. I can't focus. But I guess I'm making progress.

Too funny, Harriet!

We had a successful day with DD15 getting all 4 wisdom teeth removed. It wasn't without some anxiety and tears, but we got through it. Now is the recovery part which DD50 is thrilled to be main caregiver. I am even more thrilled that DD50 is in a good mental/emotional state to be able to do it. This is a dream come true for DD50 to do parenting things. After we got DD15 to DD50 home and safely on the couch, then DH and I went and picked up the 4 prescriptions at our pharmacy. Two pain med, steroid pack and antibody were delivered to them before we left the city and came home.

I am feeling exhausted from the stress of it all but thrilled to have it successfully completed.

And I made an appointment on Wednesday to get an estimate on the gravestone replacements. Stick a fork in me, I'm done.

I'm heading for the shower. We're eating out this p.m. with friends.

So glad to hear LadyM's dd is doing well and things are good for her to be with dd50. Hope she doesn't have too much pain in the recovery time.

Y'all, I have not conga-ed through ANYTHING today. I was just worn out last night, went to bed without showering and talked dgd into letting me sleep till 10:00 a.m. Then by the time she and I had eaten something, it seemed too late to shower (I know, that doesn't make sense) so she and I have both sat around all day doing very little (a few games, some time on the porch swing, a few minutes of softball practice in the yard) and just really wasted the day. I shouldn't be surprised. Anytime I do not start the day with a shower and clean clothes, down to Flylady's "lace-up shoes," I know I'm going to feel like I have been useless all day.

DGS has been slightly better today, but definitely not recovered. He spent most of the day lying in bed with his laptop. He thought he wanted to go outside with dgd and me, but we talked him out of it. OTOH, he ate a turkey and cheese Lunchable, and later, a meatball sub from Subway. He kept all those down -- at least until I took him home around 6:00 p.m.
Harriet -- his birthday was the 26th of June, while they were on their family vacation, and his mom's birthday was Tuesday, July 14th. So we were trying to celebrate both this week, until he got sick. Volleyball games and other various obligations kept us from getting his any earlier. Now we're planning to do this on Monday.
This may be TMI, but he said he kept the "solids" down, but threw up some "liquids" a few times in the car after eating at Subway. I never heard anything from the backseat, and he talked a blue streak the whole time, so I don't know if maybe he just felt he needed to spit? This sounds like a weird symptom to me.

We spent about an hour in the car after we ate because we went about 20 miles away to the town where my dad grew up. They are tearing down his old junior high school and I wanted to get a brick from the building. (I asked dgs if he wanted to go home or go with me and he chose to go.)
DS will be laughing at me again. I have bricks from the old elementary school and old high school in our town, from my dad's junior high and high school, and the old theater in town, which my granddad helped build. DS said, "You're going to be able to recreate the county eventually." LOL. This all started when they tore down our old high school, which both dh's parents and my dmom attended, along with dh, myself, and ds when it became the middle school. (Dgrands also, but in the newer buildings.) One day my newspaper students were over there doing interviews and they came back saying, "Mrs. L, they're tearing down the building and people are getting bricks from it. Do you want one?" I said of course, and sent them back for one for me. So... one thing (one brick) led to another. My maternal grandfather was a brick mason with a very good reputation in our county, so I guess that's why they are special to me. We believe he helped build my dad's high school.

Anyway, after all that, I took dgs home and dgd is still here because "Friday is (her) night." Never mind that Wednesday and Thursday were her nights also; apparently they don't count because dgs was under the same roof. She has had her bath and I am about to take a shower.

PS -- dgd just came in here and wanted to know what I was writing -- I told her we talk about cleaning and stuff, but I told y'all I didn't do any cleaning today because of her and dgs, and that I needed a shower, and she said, "You actually told them that??? Now they all know you are disgusting." ROFLOL. I hope y'all don't think I am TOO disgusting. I promise to be s2s when I return!

PPS — I am disgusting no longer! I am showered, washed my hair, shaved my legs, and did the facial mask. Also in bed before midnight! But I am watching The Virginian so not ready to sleep yet. ;)
Tomorrow is another day.
