Morning all. I had a couple of links that gave error messages but made my way around cuop with minimal trouble.

Hmmm. Today is wet and raining as predicted. We need it after the hot spell. Finally my garden looks like it might make something. I need to go out while it's getting watered by rain and add some bone meal and fertilizer.

What to do today. A rainy day where both of us are off. House just needs a quick over. Can continue some of the declutter organize projects. Maybe some crafts. Gonna have to see. Dh had thought of helping my dad with stuff but that might sidetrack in the rain too. I don't feel like having a day where he sits and reads all day and I feel like doing something but not motivated if he's not. I think I don't know how to relax.

See if I can get ds interested in something. How does one do that. He's so very resistant. Not even in cooking. He finally grated my cheese for lasagna last night. He said he felt like it is a seasonal thing. He dislikes summer cause it's hot and no schedule and I don't know why else. Almost like seasonal depression but that's usually winter in shorter daylight. Has anyone heard of summer seasonal depression? He's my not fit into any pattern kid. Should be learning to drive. Should be thinking of getting a job. But what... and how to train him to be able to hold a job. My high functioning.. but goodness not right now .

Hmm maybe I would get moving with a soak or shower..

The local parks and rec is doing Frozen as their summer show. They do one each summer using kids up to age 21 and they do a great job.

Thanks, FrenchFly. I briefly thought that you could keep your ds's away from screens by employing them to colour your hair, but then I read that you don't want a mess and you do want it to look good, so perhaps not.

Thank you, Kittykatt. TodayMe is very pleased about having all of that cutlery washed by the dw, as that is my most loathed dish washing task. And with every vertical surface covered by drying laundry, I can lounge and listen to my Saturday morning radio shows guilt-free.
That is frustrating, that you are still cleaning up after your DH's shenanigans from yesterday. You work hard enough without having extra burdens piled on. I tried to think of a sanity saver that doesn't involve confrontation, and I thought "What if you pay yourself for the extra work you have to do when your DH creates work for you by doing things like sending tissues through the wash and then shaking them around the house?" Like, whatever it would have cost you to bring in a cleaning service to clean it up, just take that out of the bank account and either move it into an account to save up for something nice, or spend it on a cleaning service in the future. As in, give yourself a week off from the big cleaning by bringing in cleaners to make up for the extra time you had to spend this week.
I hope that he enjoys himself on the railway today, and comes home feeling more relaxed.
I'm sure that Freddie enjoyed his birthday treat. I'm guessing that it's exactly what he would have wished for.

I've just realized that the G in WTG is uncomfortably close to the H, so I need to proofread more diligently.

That brings me to the end of Page 1. Time to get up and do something.

Found a free audio book app and installed it
Filled the balcony rack and set it up on balcony railing
Wiped down the dishes in the dw and left them on dry cycle
Swept out Germane’s pen and back entrance
Set up the small drying rack and clotheslines
Hung the delicates and landry bags
Took the dishes out of the dw to finish drying
Put away the dw and cart

Heart pill for Germane
Changed Germane’s pee pads
Washed floor around Germane’s pee pads and the soles of my shoes

helia, it feels like the inanimate objects get together and plan who's going to die right before we go away, but I think that it's actually that we are focussing on them. I know that I have most often replaced my phone before a visit to my db, but it's because I rely on the GPS on my phone and don't want it to die en route.
I'm sure that your home is lovely. If anyone runs their finger along a surface with a white glove, just say casually, a propos of nothing, "I ran the 5K today. Did you?"

The board is showing improvement, Harriet. I have been getting in on 2-3 tries. Thank you for looking into it.

It's nice to have a day with choices, Lauralind.
Are there online groups that you can join to talk with other parents of children who face similar challenges to your DS? People who have had the same experiences as you might have some creative suggestions. I realize that in a rural area there might be fewer options for in person meetings.

Lauralind, that will be a great show to bring Little Bit and your DD33 to.

Put away the laundry from the clotheslines. I am up to date on clothes laundry, which begs the question: where are the rest of the napkins?

That's a good idea doggedly. I don't know very many people with kids like him. Or maybe I do without realizing.

Helian I have been puttering. Remembered the big bag of rhubarb stalks in the fridge from dsil mom when they were here. I now have a big bowl of it prepped and ready to make something with and freeze the rest. It stopped raining for now so I went out to check my raspberries. A few cups full just from the easy pick side and they are just barely starting to produce. Now I should find my fruit crisp recipe. Strawberry raspberry rhubarb? Yum.

That is always how it works helian. But it would be hard to rely on that tech stuff while traveling.


Hmmm now what . Lunch I suppose.
