Good morning and thanks for another start:)
I was out all day yesterday, and, it seems, as I'm arriving everyone is leaving.
My single accomplishment after coming back was dinner and wrapping our (kitchen) garb. can with a bungee cord so the racoon would not open it again. (Twice this week he managed and made a huge mess) (I heard him knock it over last night, but thankfully, he did not succeed this time)

Good luck with DD at Hopkins, LAnn
Kittykatt - I assume no word from Mica's owners. Good to have a plan.
My Dkids liked Odyssey as well, trissie. I don't like long movies...

So:
today, I will have my 3 DLittles.. at least, for a while.

Maybe I can do laundry and some PUPAs while they are here... (although they tend to pull out all the art supplies when here so there will be plenty of PUPAs left for after...)
I'm hoping to bake some little buns, but it might not happen.
Need to return a shirt just up the street.
Must water all indoor plants/check outdoor
get rid of dried up plants and pots
prep all garb/rec for collection tmo
e-mail dfriend
I know there is more on my list but it's upstairs...

I don't know if it's cute or sad that DD has her favourite hospital doctor, L.Ann!
kittykatt, there is a healthy balance - if it's unorganized, it will also be hard to locate, extricate and put back an item!
kids have a way of messing everything up, don't they, kitkat! :-)

I need to wait for the washer to finish so I can flip laundry to dryer, but then I will go get groceries!

Hello, all. It's a lovely bright white day outside. Germane is doing much better. I thought that the topper might be what upset her innards, so I tried giving her just dog food with rice and probiotic, and she still ate it. I, on the other hand, have been eating chili momos and an ice cream sandwich, so I'm braced for the worst, LOL.

Thank you for a delicious start, Kittykatt. I have never tried a fresh fig, but enjoy the dried ones.
I'm glad that things are sorted out for Mica, and that you and your dh are on the same page.

trissie, I think that I must be on the same wavelength as your dkids, as I haven't made much progress in emptying out the apartment.

L.Ann, I hope that the nurses are able to mollify your DD33.

That brings me to the end of Page 1. Time to leap to my feet. Or arise at a stately pace.

I wrote a post last night after all my "kids" had left. I got up this morning to find it unsent onmy computer. I did'nt copy and paste.
a related SHEM:
You can have anything you want; you just can't have everything you want ~ The Rev. Dennis Johnson, interim college president, speaking to the faculty about the budget. But reflecting on life as well.
kittykatt, I am happy that you have a practical, sensible, and compassionate plan for Mica.

I had a good night sleep; it's noon and I'm not dressed yet. The young people left last night so they could be back at their camp for final activities, and goodbyes to the people they worked with all summer.
Have I reported that I gave the key to dfBS house to an attorney hired by her brother? So I don't have any more responsibilities, unless the family wants help with her funeral (after they plan the date).
I spent 2 1/2 hours on 1 drawer at mother's house while the young people were gone.
There was a mixup on supper last night - church had told me originally that they would provide supper on Thursday night. No one had told me differently, so that is what I was planning on - but they had made a change. So I made a light supper for them while they had their last session. I made a salad bar for taco salad, using separately both ground beef and black beans, and using up some fo the grated cheese and sour cream. It was a big hit, my tenant from the basement, who has been here all summer and is the same age as these, joined us for conversation, and took the leftovers for his lunch today.

TODOs today
strip the beds
wash sheets and towels
unload the dw
vacuum
wash bathroom adn K floors (especially by the stove - they used ALOT! of oil)
find a singe-edge razor blade to get some scorch off the glass top stove surface (don't get me started on that topic!)
talk to ds about some of the leftovers he might use for his family
after the rain stops,
go to Hallmark and buy some birthday cards. Especially a funny one for my cousing whose 80th party is Sunday.
Wrap his package (which is a funny joke gift)

I'm here, kitkat and trissie, and happy to pass the time with you. :)

Good luck with the raccoon, kitkat. They are smart and determined. But so are we.

trissie, WTG on getting laundry and errands done. Your list is so long that I don't know what to wish you good luck with, LOL.

That was a good save on dinner, Gma. Tacos for the win!

We don't know what to do for the best, L.Ann. It's only 81F here now, but the Humidex is 97F. But now our city is warning us to avoid the outdoors at dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are most active as we've had a couple of cases of West Nile Virus. I did take Germane out for her walk and stuck to the shade, and it was fine. She's happy to be back in the air conditioning, thought, I'm sure.

Bagged batteries for testing

Took kitchen garbage to chute
Emptied desk wastepaper basket
Walked Germane
Picked up mail

The mosquitoes are bad at Little Bit’s house. It is usually okay here IF I stay out of the grass, Dogged. I think I’ll try a short one since supposedly we are getting some rain in a little while.
