Re: Sunday Change PWYC
snow in the mountains d Nancy? - it's so interesting how our weather on our site is different across the country at different times!
This week, we will be in the 90's - Yuck!!!
We have had a mild summer, except for a couple weeks, and I have loved every minute.
I enjoy 55 to 70 degrees - 75 tops.
hello d Nancy how lovely to have a magical morning walk!!!
hello d twins. how lovely to be at the river all afternoon and early evening! wonderful
it's amazing how hot a sitting boat is - people don't realize it. I used to love to be on Lake Michigan away from the shore.
hope your dh has a wonderful time at the fantasy football gathering!!!
good for you on your wardrobe!!!
hi d lady! lol on the speed - I used to love being in the cabin of the tractor with my sis in law at haying - when I visited.
I know your d son loves farm work - good for him!
yay on enjoying church! good for you!

Re: Sunday Change PWYC
thrilled and feeling some visual peace.
the young man that I hire for yard work came with his d brother - moved all of mom's boxes from the garage to the crawl space! They also moved two pieces of furniture to the basement as well as moving all of mom's underwear/pull up boxes - we have a lot and her green bed pads to one corner of the basement.
he also put up a shelf for my dewault charging station.
he and his brother cleaned the floor in my garage and helped take stuff to the side of the house for trash.
We can now park in the garage on my side

Re: Sunday Change PWYC
Home from my wandering. I picked up my dresses (to try on in the privacy of my home) and one or both will go back. Went through Home Goods and got some fancy soap for the powder room and fall cocktail napkins. And a walk through Fresh Market, a fancy grocery store here. Picked up spinach - we are out and I add to my omelets, and bottled horseradish for Rosh Hashana. They didn't have the red horseradish (dyed with beet juice) so I bought what they had. It can be hard to find and I really would prefer not to cook a beet to add to prepared horseradish. I gassed up the car on the way home> I still need to wash/vacuum it and put the new mats in.
I forgot to take the return with me tho. I assume I'll need a trip back to return at least one of the dresses.
I started the roomba on the screened porch. Need to do a little deeper clean before 12 September but it's too hot right now to start sweeping and cleaning the corners for now. Need to do in the a.m.
Dh said he might not stay long after the draft - we'll see how much time I have. I'm heading upstairs for a bit.

Re: Sunday Change PWYC
Discovered early this morning my water heater was broken. I had water all over my garage floor!
Sweetie had lots of boxes on the floor filled with stuff that had become wet and many of the small boxes inside the bigger boxes were wet too
Guess how I spent my day? Good news is the the new water heater will be delivered tomorrow

Re: Sunday Change PWYC
Hi ladies - long time since last check in. I decided to hand out a bit with my old group and while I could almost totally copy paste my personal part of my message to this group too, I never think to do this until today.
LucyLee - happy belated birthday I hope it was wonderful.
Twins - River days sounds fun. I have never been able to get up on anything when in water but my mom and dad used to be great water skiers when I was a child. That house for the fantasy football league sounds cool. WTG on the weightloss. I discovered when I went to the doctor and showed a 10 lb loss from 2 months ago but my scale was not so generous, that my scale was not zeroed out correctly. It was 5.3 lbs too high. I asked my AI and he had me tap it with my toe to turn it on and see what it read and it read 5.3 so then he instructed to pull a battery and do a hard reset and it read 0.0 and Today I weighed in 65 lbs down from where I started 2.5 years ago. I have lost 20 lbs in 1 year. I was thrilled. People have started really noticing and seeing it. I still wear the same clothing however it is just a bit loose on me. I did buy some new bras with smaller cup size though which helped.
Nancy do you have a lot of deer near you? We so but I haven't seen any deer in our neighborhood. We do have a fox this is often seen, a family of skunks that walk past my house everyday (I can smell them), a groundhog and we used to have rabbits but Cocoa our neighbor's cat used to catch them, she is now deceased so maybe rodents will come back (no squirrels or chipmunks though which is wierd) and I understand a literal Mountain Lion/Cougar had been spotted like 1/2 mile from my house in the past. We have a wild life refuge about 20 miles away and one escaped years ago and often there would be sightings locally. They may have caught it now or it moved on as I haven't heard of a sighting in a while. A big buck would be majestic. I have seen many Doe's with their babies.
Lady M thanks for starting us out. I think biscuits and sausages links sound great for a breakfast. If I could change something to day it is I need to stop being in neurodivergent paralysis. This is when you are fixated on something that isn't resolving and you are frozen and you can't do anything about it.
What is causing the paralysis of motion even though I have plenty of projects I could be doing is I put in to be our Christian Ed Director within the hour of receiving the current person's resignation which was 3 weeks ago and they have done nothing. They met last Wednesday and should have made a decision but alas they tabled it. But the current person's last day is Sept. 13. It feels like they don't want me but I don't know why they wouldn't want me. I did it 20 years ago and was the interim before the one we have currently. 20 years ago I took us from a failing program to tripling our numbers in 5 years and being a leader in the state. I would have taken the job 2 years ago had I not had 1 more year of full time teaching. I so wish I had just done it - they said they wanted a 30 hour a week person so they could given them insurance - I don't need insurance. Current person in no way put in 30 hours a week. She taught a 1 hours class on Sunday, went to a 2 hours staff meeting on Tuesday and purchased, not wrote the curriculum. She never even tidied up the classrooms and she stopped doing Children's Chapel so I voluntarily took that back. I also taught upstairs with her almost every Sunday - she didn't recruit, took us from 3 classes to 1 multi age classroom. She planned education commission meetings at a time most parents are still working or getting kids from class etc. so only 1 came to those too and she stopped. My husband and I went as chaperones to the teen weekend she had an excuse. I tried over and over to try to find out what she did in her 30 hours. She started writing one email a week to families over inflating what she did in class each week that she would show up during the early service to copy and get ready. If you were teaching you were left your lesson or she would email it late Saturday night giving you no time to prepare and she didn't have materials ready for whoever taught. I tried first talking to her making suggestions of how to structure 30 hours, she made us meet with our Rector who accused me of saying she was stealing from the church. (I said well I never actually thought that but now that you mention it...). I now have time and I want the job back, I have offered less hours and no insurance required. They are talking about canceling the position entirely because she didn't do her job and they think that kind of time is not needed and they want to hire a half time associate rector which would cost far more than what this person made, I am offering them Federal Minimum wage for 20 hours which is like $7500 (I would like 10,000 a year which is $9 something an hour but will take minimum.) They know me, many people are still there from 20 years ago and can vouch for me. I know how to get volunteers, I know how to write curriculum, I know how to train teachers as I have done all of this for 36 years as a master's level teacher. The silence however is killing me. One of the Wardens (we had 3) that are supposed to be in charge just quit effective immediately. OUr Vestry is a volunteer 3 year commitment. We have a Rector who refuses to be an administrator so the Wardens kind of stepped in but no one wants to do the hard things like correct evaluations. I will have office hours M to Th and work Sunday for several hours. I will create a preschool lesson, restart our teenagers and grow a young group. I will know all of my families by name. I want to restart Rotation classes again as they were amazing. I like to run intergenerational events through out the year as well. I was paid 20 hours a week and did all of that 20 years ago. It has been so frustrating. Now the things is she was a good teacher when in front of the kids but her planning and organizational skills lacked so much. My husband (who is on the vestry) said the meeting Wednesday was very contentious. So he wrote a lengthy letter spelling out the duties of a good CE director and what that looks like (I helped with this part) and it could take 6 months or longer to hire and associate rector and at present there is no plan to do anything which is ridiculous. What, however, I refuse to do is be an interim and expected to give this up when new person starts. I either am offered the position and become part of the staff or we are going to lose families which ultimately will hurt our parish. I refuse to be a temporary band aide. It is causing much anxiety and bizarre dreams. It has made Prince lose sleep and not eat. I left years ago because they wouldn't replace my position and make our Sunday School Program tank, I really don't want to leave again. They truly are stupid if they don't accept this offer.
Tomorrow I must get back on exercise and doing at least 1 think constructive each day. So tomorrow is Power Pump and Barre, then I have a dermatology appt and later a chiro appt. For my constructive things at home I will put dried rosemary in my olive oil bottles to infuse and cut herbs to dry and maybe make salsa and pasta sauce and wash the sheets on the guest bed and remake.

Re: Sunday Change PWYC
Oh no! (((RR))) Did the water stay contained to the garage or also get in other areas?
I've tried spending time in the garden but it is SOOO HOT. It is more than the 100+ temp, it is the super hot air and sun. Everything is radiating heat - sky, air, walls, ground, etc. The grass is crunchy brown if it isn't watered daily and many of the trees are dropping their leaves. Can I have some cheese with my whine?
I have only slept 5 hours the last 2 nights. Sleeping on my back is reducing hip pain, but apparently, it means I don't sleep as well. I’m hopeful that I’ll eventually adjust to the new sleep position and get back to my usual amount of sleep.
No wonder I am complaining - it reminds me what a sleep deprived toddler is like.

Dh and I went to Niagara Falls this morning to get some meat, fruits and vegetables at our favourite store. Then we went to our favourite Italian bakery for deli meats and cheeses and too much bread. Dh got himself a blueberry loaf and a large peanut butter cookie. He also got a date square which he ate on the way home.
It has been raining for most of the day here. Great for the farmers and the gardens, but too many locals are afraid that rain = flooded basements now.
LadyM enjoy being outside for me. I have been getting bitten by mosquitoes every time I help dh in the gardens.
We had pork ribs for supper. Dh cooked them! It's been so long since he made a meal. They were delicious and we have leftovers for tomorrow night!! Yay!!

That's not enough sleep, LadyM! I'd be feeling rough myself.
I spent some time upstairs. Found a birthday card for dneighbor, texted new dog sitter about getting her here next weekend to meet and greet. Made an appointment for a pedicure on Friday. Also went ahead and wrote checks for HOA - got a "past due" email from pool co even tho their invoice said due 5 Sept. That gets mailed in the a.m. Oh, and made appointment for COVID and Flu vaccinations. I know a lot of people don't bother with COVID anymore but the vaccine was just updated. Crossed some things off my list! It's a busier week - I have haircut tomorrow, body work on Tuesday, and pedicure on Friday. Plus two workouts.
Cathy, I would so love to have a nice slow rain. I don't know when the last significant rain was.

Re: Sunday Change PWYC
I took a master class on goal setting that I've heard about and was interested in that popped up on my you tube feed today.
So I got the doc. on paper planner I did up yesterday and one earlier today when I took a break.
Then finished it and some great mojo. for filling in with ideas and that was successful.
I did get ideas for a 21 days in a row for Sept. on the page of aff. from AI
and the ideas for fall planning in 21 days with time blocking also writing out for Oct.
so glad I was able to push the easy button on it! Yea!
Some things were OMM and others I knot I'll be doing later on and could put down on the page for later.
Yea for success.
Got my kitchen counters cleaned up yea so glad for that it's a relief.
