Magnificent Monday

We are off to our lot this morning. I'm moving kinda slow. I have a crick in my neck and if I turn too fast I get dizzy. I have about 10 minutes of put away yet and we can move.

I haven't been logging in much as the ISP logs me off all the time. I'm hoping that back at the lot I can stay logged in. It makes it much easier to post.

Good Morning Ladies,

Another sunny day here for us. Temp is 70 degrees.

Have rearranged my day today so that I can attend a memorial service with DH and two Dsons. One of the other ones will keep Dbrother company.

Got a bad case of the dontwannas right now. Not about the service but just house cleaning.

Memorial is for a very dear friend, who was loved by a lot of people. Expecting 500 people to show up. He helped many people, made a difference in lots of people's lives, our family's included. Was a behind the scenes supporter and fundraiser for many charities. Totally involved in the community, never ran for office but held those who did accountable. and had a great sense of humor. We will miss him.

Granny duty has not begun for today & none tomorrow.

Harriet, doesn't seem fair that something like this will keep HRH from close contact with his family. I'd say for me the deciding factor would be if the rest of the family is embracing this relationship, and if not, then perhaps they kept the secret simply to spare him... sigh...

Hello to everybody. I miss saying things to so many, but it's hard to keep up. But it's nice to see everybody come here and post. I always read everything.

I've reclaimed the house, swept floors and mopped kitchen, FR, hallways, living room. And did a major pickup and wiped all counters, etc. It looks very nice for now. After a few days' work I have all paperwork organized and it's not so overwhelming now.

I started a post earlier, but went upstairs to talk with DH while he got ready for bed. Next thing I knew, I was snuggled under the covers with assorted critters everywhere...didn't wake up for about three hours! Even though I'd already slept for seven hours, apparently I needed still more sleep.

As soon as I've had something to eat, I'm going to get dressed and deal with litter boxes. This afternoon, I'd like to get some errands done, too, since I have some library things that are due back.

*sigh* ...I suppose I'd better get moving...anyone seen the BGS?

This morning was truly magnificent. It is Albuquerque International Balloon Fest so the skies were crowded with hot air balloons on my way to work. Since I am not affected by Balloon Fest traffic, I could enjoy.

My living room is complete, but for 3 papers sitting on the sofa. I finally remembered to get copies for a rebate that was sitting on top of a stereo speaker. Tonight at a minimum, I need to sweep the kitchen. Cat food crumbs are everywhere. I need to do a bit of unpacking as well. Always always unpacking boxes. XDH dropped off two more on Saturday while I was away. I need to get him some more empty boxes.

This month I need to split our finances and get my financial house in order. Fun, fun. It is also Halloween party month and I have custody of the Halloween party.

I'm using this wool as my "crafting therapy" I'm spinning it up now into singles then later plying it in double ply yarn, some times folks weave it up. I've not thought that far into this project at this point just to show dgd the process is my goal!

Debating on a piece of fabric that I've used for a table cloth, --- > I guess I'll hang on to it for a while more let go of some smaller pieces today.

I'm enjoying a couple of moments before dinner and then choir.

I spent 5 hours running errands. Started by treating myself to lunch. Then my music friend's with my sewing machine to sew up a seam for her (she doesn't have a machine herself and was going to go to a drycleaners to get them to do it.) Then return the stinky ribs, and 6 stores and the bank. Costco was one stop and the 5 items on my list expanded to a $250 order that included gluten-free crackers for this weekend, fruit tray for tomorrow, and Christmas cards and the calendars we mail to clients.

Crafting therapy is a happy thought, Nancy! Even though the carding was work, I'm sure it was satisfying.

I must admit I was relieved at the Knox outcome as well. We may not know all the facts, but the DNA evidence just didn't warrant all this. I was very interested in the concept of trial not by peers/jury but by experts/jury. I think over all, in the grand scheme of things, the peers jury system is better.

I ran a couple errands (nothing like Kathryn!), getting gas too, on the trip to pick up dd.

Sorry to hear about your friend, Sadie and glad you can work out a way most of the family can go. I have a funeral visitation for an old friend, too and have just found out it will be mid-day - difficult for me to get away at all.

I appreciate all the thoughts and hugs for my astonished dh. Who was it in our village who had such an excellent relationship with her dh's ex, inviting her to family events? Kbean, I think? Well, here, ex is like the Susan Lucci of our lives. When she pops up, there's going to be high drama. Dstepson just called me happily chatting about plumbing, and as I listened to him I realized there's no way he knows this. For cousin to be dating HRH's ex is huge - the 2 were and are the closest of all their cousins. It is an uncharitable opinion, but I think ex just trolls for men, and if she can cause drama while doing it, all the better. I don't know what's going on in cousin's brain right now, but it really ought to be a call here. These two men are a little old for much drama between them now, and this ball is definitely in his court.

((((HRH)))) Yuck. Just Yuck.

The only drama around here today has been outdoors cats fussing about DH's french fries. Who knew that cats were so crazy for fries? DH has been giving the outdoor cats his leftover french fries and pizza crusts for years. He says that for them, any extra calories they're willing to eat are good for them.

The inside cats don't have such an active lifestyle, so they only get high quality dry cat food. Not that they're at all spoiled. However, they do not get people food and therefore I've never had a problem with any of the indoor cats begging for my plate. (In contrast to when we visit any of DH's family and their dogs are always trying to join the meal. I love dogs, but not at the table.)

This is one of those days that did not go as planned. Since I was in classes* 3 days in a row, I was looking forward to Apron Day today. DH forgot to tell me that he scheduled a vacation day from work. I love having him home and he hasn't had a day off for awhile, but it definitely means rearranging my plans.

So today has been rather easy-going. I guess that's good, my back is bothering me from so many hours in uncomfortable classroom chairs. I did get in a few hours of desk work and a nap this morning, before we went out to the diner for lunch. Since we got back I've been meandering around the dishes and laundry.

* Sewing classes Friday night and all day Saturday. Couponing class yesterday at the library -- more to support a Friends of the Library event than because I was really interested in topic. It did turn out to be a fun class, though, because the teacher was enthusiastic, well-organized, and a fun personality.
