Today I have some solitude h. is helping with a concrete pour sil has going on a job.
It rained a bit in the night here so they had to wait a bit.

Today is trash day here dumped trash yesterday and h. took it to the curb before he left.
Today I'll be working on floors and bathrooms that's my plan.

Did I tell you the stinky furniture in my garage has been hauled off? My garage smells of nothing. Important because that is my usual route of getting in and out. I overslept and am not feeling turbo-charged. I have GOT to get some stuff done at work. Tonight is Girls Night Out with DD9. I hope to get her to go to the library, though she would rather Chuck E Cheese. I hate eating dinner alone so I need some books. The cats just are not good conversationalists. I am so tired even though I get to bed at a decent hour.

Does a 1959 Chevrolet Impala count as a favorite sports car? Anything made by Chevrolet in 1959 is welcome in my garage.

Breast Cancer Awareness issue.

Neat, Harriet. DDIL breast cancer walk was Sunday & DD has a team walking in FL soon.

Been a cool, wet day so far. Sun keeps trying to peek out. I'm helping dh do septic tank readings -we have walkie-talkies, so I'm doing numbers from our dining table. This should be the last big read for this year. Numbers are dwindling here. Many have left or will this week.

Have to skip bible study tomorrow. We're going to the cemetery for placing of the headstone for dfriend who was killed down the road about 3 months ago. J had a waterfall cascading down the berm behind their place & it's been carved into the back of his stone. It was very special to him & identified him here throughout the campground. Their dks are getting her ready to put the MH in storage for the winter. She'll soon be heading for FL too.

Have a big pot of chili simmering for dinner. Good day for it.

Think dh must be on his way for lunch -at least I haven't heard from him in the last few minutes.

Waiting to hear from Okay and hoping this is the end of it for her!

MT, for someone retired and living the RV life, you sure do stay busy!

Elizabeth, it is nice to have you here with us and it's great reading that you're getting all settled in.

Dragged DH around with me whle I did all my errands. 4 banks today. Big new one is a royal pain. I hate it more each time I'm in there. We sat for half hour waiting for someone and then it was thumbprints, etc., just to get a signature notarized...and he suggests next time call for appointment. I'll be so glad to be done with this place. Just the atmosphere in that place suggests the employees aren't happy either.

Got back in time to get some of this paperwork in the mail and other stuff faxed.

Now I'm stopping for lunch. Still have tummy upset. Have early meeting in church tonight.

As usual, things got changed around *sigh* I was getting a few things done before heading to DD's when dMum decided to call and chat for half an hour By that time, DD was already getting ready to head to her appointment (we both realized last evening that bf could drive her since he's not at work today). She's going to call after the appointment to let me know how things go, and I'll probably head over then.

OK...she just called, and all is still well. They did agree to strip the membranes, but if that doesn't bring on labour, then she just has to wait it out for now, since there's no medical reason for induction. Will keep y'all posted.

Oh, its' getting a little exciting, bittersweet! Hope she continues to feel okay.

I posted in the PaperTamers thread a link to a new article and video on setting up a desk for paperwork.

HRH took my ddad for his haircut today and then through a grocery store, which my ddad hasn't done in ages.

Ds26 heard back from the tractor repair - $630. Sigh. Double Sigh. So I got that paid by phone and now he can go pick it up.

Pink tinted newspaper - it is a study, lol. However meaningful the intent, the reality is that everything you read has an air of the whimsical about it, and in a newspaper that may not be the effect you are going for! It does wonders for the comics, and even advertisements you've seen before seem somehow new and interesting. Colored photos lose something, of course, since the 4-color process is meant for neutral or white - some give an appearance of sepia, if there are a lot of earth tones.

3/4 mile walk with my ddad is done.

dd31 called driving away from her dentist appt to tell me no cavities. This is a new dentist for her, since her old one died. They complimented her teenage-hood orthodontist work, so she figured my bank acct would want to "hear" that, lol.

I can't figure out how to get to the funeral visitation. I know ds is out and about, but I don't know if perhaps he should be the one able to go, since he was in SS and youth group for years with one of the lady's granddaughters.

Busy day here, perhaps turbo-charged but I feel more like I've grabbed a too big kite and am being blown to and fro!

Favourite sports car: Mercedes drop top. Saw one in Las Vegas 29 years ago and have dreamed of having one ever since.

So far today I've:

Got up
Worked out

Started a turkey dinner (on time bake)
Baked muffins
Launched search for a power adapter for our student's laptop (he left home without his)
Laid out all the food for morning and afternoon snacks and wrote up instructions for dh
Made a lunch for myself
Drove to the city to do my volunteering (thank heavens for flexible hours)
Handled phone relating that a power adapter will be here by 4:30
Handle a church phone call

I'm about to write two reports for my church meeting tomorrow night. I need to get them done in the next 45 minutes because I told ds I'd be done by then and could visit with him at that point.

Indiana - nope. Wouldn't that be fun though?!?!? I just got a text saying we are meeting tonight in the hostess home instead of the lodge. I must admit to being curious about her home, I've heard so much about it. She is one very gracious lady and hopefully a dear friend one day. We are at the stage of friendship where we hug upon seeing each other, but haven't spent much one-on-one-eye-time alone so I really don't know her very well.
She is a very classy lady who always looks like could be on the cover of a magazine......while I am wearing jeans/boots and typically have my hair in french braid. They say opposites attract.

Harmony - IKWYM!!!! Believe me.....I am walking this path in faith. My early morning Bible and prayer time keeps me glued together to make it through each day and face the next one. ((((Hugs)))) for the concern and thoughtfulness.

i am so very glad this morning is behind us! (results posted in J&C).

LO and I went for a long (2+ hours) walk in the big pasture (300+ acres) across the road. It has several creeks/streams that are now just dry gully's. To a little one they are a wonderful adventure to climb up/down and play in the bottom of them. It was a good place to spend time having fun while waiting for the phone to ring.

We then went to local lake and walked the previous waterline for about 30 minutes. Everything looks sooo weird without water. Interesting to see things that are normally underwater, and to imagine people catching their fishing hooks on them during normal water level.

Lunch served (left over broasted chicken, refried beans, green salad, spaghetti squash for DH and myself). LO had cheese sandwich, dill pickle and mandarin orange sections.

LO down for a nap.....and i'm enjoying a fresh cup of coffee. OH....what a joyous pleasure to enjoy the simple things!

YIKES!!! I just got Leo's vet bill $914. He had his leg amputated for cancer and is doing well now, but YIKES!!! He is one of my fosters, but I like to sponsor my fosters so they don't drain the system. This is a discounted rate too for the animal org. Oh well, it will be a tax write off. I may have to pay it over several months. Or I may just bite the bullet and do it now. YIKES!!!
