House needs a quick spiff in the kitchen and dining room. H. made a comment that he will be glad when we did not have to be so on top of the house work every time we leave it's more work that's for sure. So that's on the adgenda for today.

Lilac we haven't heard a thing yet. I see dd tomorrow night at midnight (we are picking her up from the airport on our way to Waterloo) so we'll get an update then.

I've completed two of the three phone calls (left a message on the third.) I've also canceled my extra hotel reservation for tomorrow night and phoned the hotel we will be at to confirm they'll hold the room since we aren't arriving until between 1 and 2 a.m.

Folded load one of laundry and put load two on the line. I'm about to start load 3, then, I either work on paperwork or take the car in to be checked. I guess I'll phone the mechanic and see how busy they are.

Yesterday I fit my car into the garage!!! I also got my haircut, my guitar is half strung and I did some playing last night. I bought a bathmat and a few other household necessities too. Wednesday is hard because I have to go home to empty house and eat alone (with a book) and I was in a real pity party. I called DD9 and a friend and that helped. Today is better because I have art class tonight and lunch with friends. Art class lets out at 9, then a 25 minute drive home, cat care and bed. No time for feeling alone. Also, less fun, an appointment with the gastroenterologist. I've got to do a better job of getting dinner, I cannot continue to eat cereal every night.

Yes, thank you for the quote, OKay. HRH sent word to me as soon as he heard about the death, which sort of shook him up, I think. It seemed so fast, didn't it?

My ddad says he did not sleep at all last night, and putting clues together I believe it was because he insisted on eating a large meal right before bed. He had not wanted an Ensure through the mid-day as usual, but then supper didn't fill him up and he was hungry later. So I offered an Ensure and he drank it - it was from a new 6-pack of the 350 calorie ones. But that evening after he went to bed HRH pointed out that not one but 2 were gone from the pack and bottles tossed. So we now surmise he was still hungry and had a 700-calorie meal before bed and it affected him like it would many of us - probably acid reflux and general discomfort. I tried to get him to go back to bed but that lasted less than an hour and he is trying to have a normal day. I really think he should rest.

lucylee, I give up. I went online at Amazon and ordered 3 of my second-favorite color of Loving Care. That will take me into next year when maybe, by some miracle, some company will have come up with a reasonable substitute. The L'Oreal does work, however complicated, but sometimes it just seems harsh and it worries me. I don't need that hassle, but may be faced with it again.

HRH and I have made a ... ... list. (shudder) He has possession so that I don't break out in hives. Our apple-cart turnover lives lately have left us with a lot of looming situations, from oddities of car repair and household repair, to paperwork. The straw that broke the camel's back was that last evening the HP printer broke. He's really an expert with repair of that type of thing and spent 2 hours, because dd had a report to print. But she ended up hand writing (which won't kill her). So we have to get out to an office supply place and purchase, so that's at the top of the... ... thing.

I'm sorry, but this made me laugh and I have to ask, did you just play the notes that were strung?!

I hung up the second load of laundry, went through flyers and processed the mail, and had lunch.

My back is killing me. Each time I stand up, I can barely walk. I went for a walk around the block to see if I could loosen it up and followed that up with some time doing physio and just lying on my tummy reading. Neither really helped (nor did an advil.) Sigh....

Good catch Kathryn! Sometimes previewing posts is a good idea. I was playing on 3 new and 3 old strings. I am considering taking guitar lessons again once my cash flow is figured out post-divorce. I used to play right handed, but after pulverizing a bone in my middle finger, I am having to play left. An interesting challenge.

Today at payroll, I have done some quality control and working on a briefing.

Indiana - so sorry to hear you are having breathing problems. Have you called your Doctor? Please let someone in your building know, so they can look in on you today. Darn that instant flying machine hasn't been invented - the village would be there in a second.

Steve Jobs death of complications from pancreatic cancer made me very sad yesterday. My DDad died of that disease and lots of sadness for me. Both were amazing men who fought to live as long as possible. Steve Jobs changed the world with technology and brilliant inventions. He was the Edison and Ford of our time. Rest in peace Steve.

It has been raining for three days, but the sun is out this morning. Off to the adventures!

Dh is back from his dowsing day. He learned a lot from the professional dowser including that he has to ask his rods what he wants to know and then they'll tell him. His friend was filming the whole thing and there should be some great footage. Dh is completely dumbfounded by the experiences. For instance, he was standing still and the dowser said "ask your rods which direction the tunnel runs" so dh did and they immediately moved to point in the same direction. Another time, he asked where the edge of the tunnel was and they didn't move at all. So he gave up went to another spot and started to work back asking the question and suddenly they crossed. So he changed the question to "where's the other edge of the tunnel?" and 14' later they crossed again. Turns out when he first asked the question he was standing right on top of the tunnel so the rods couldn't answer the question!

We're off to vote in our provincial election now. More walking will be good for my back.
