Sun ci: Made it to church, service was good; the bulletin said they had a bake sale between services but I did not see any of it out. Decided I did not need anything anyway as we've already shopped for Turkey Thursday.

Yesterday I got the rest of the crab out of the shells and out of the deep freezer it take up so much less room now yea! Took a while but was SO glad to have that done!

Up the hill to church and it was Thanksgiving lunch. The Session (Ruling Board of Elders) cooked and served lunch to all of us. Ham, Turkey, dressing, potatoes, gravy, green beans and pie. YUM-O!!

On the way thru Congress - I saw a sign that said Open - Used Furniture - Antiques. I asked DH to turn around and after rejecting several dressers - I found a great 10 drawer, all wood, dresser. It needs to be refinished but it is great. I have to get one drawer pull for it. So I know what I will be doing this week.

As for today, we burned spines off some more cacti and I planted the rest of the 1/2 flat of pansies.

Now to sit and watch some football and rest up.

Again a full dishwasher load of dishes ready before the main family has supper. HRH made pudding today, but otherwise I didn't think we cooked much! It is getting to be a habit of either a lot of hand washing or two dishwasher loads. And the floor needs to be mopped again!

I can't believe it is time for planning the upcoming week already. I need to get by the PO tomorrow. If they have Christmas stamps I'll go ahead and buy. I generally need to map out the next 4 or 5 weeks as well. A lot to think about. :|

Dd needs to be prodded to remember she does have 2 school days upcoming and hasn't done much toward them.

What color pansies did you get, Emptynester?

Hello! Hello! I'm here... just kinda overwhelmed -- as seems to be my "normal" lately.

I have washed dishes & s/s baths... like Harriet's dd, I need to be prodded to get ready for the next two days, also...

Dmom says she is going to need me a lot this week...

Dh, I am sure, will have plenty of plans of his own for the time I'm out of school...

I really really have to
[ ] take allergy shots
[ ] do some laundry tonight
[ ] go to grocery store for dmom
[ ] deliver those groceries to dmom
[ ] go w/dh to dinlaws -- b/c HE suggested that we do that and then go together to my parents'
[ ] grade three more sets of short answer tests
[ ] put grades in computer
[ ] put lesson plans in computer

Harriet: I bought a 1/2 flat of mixed. I planted the yellow ones in my new pony planter and the rest in 2 other planters. So the big planters have dark purple, light blue, white and the redish ones.

All the planters are close to the house so I can throw a sheet over them if we have frost.

I think I am going to take the Rhino and go up to the clubhouse library to see if any new books came in. I also have to check out our table for dinner on Thursday.

We won't be going to the lot this Tuesday. I want to get the furniture refinished so I will work on that.

Off to find some books.

MT, pansies here will go slightly dormant during the bitter cold days of our winter and then bloom again as the weather warms up. I doubt you'll even need to covers yours for frost.

Another afternoon of looking at houses. Looked at a several more in that general area from other builders. No decision - we have asked for more info on the "big" house - covering the rear deck, property lines and what incentive might be available.

We blew off getting groceries - for some reason I am feeling exhausted. Since I don't work outside the home this week I can go in the morning - Walmart is likely to be quieter in the morning than on Sunday evening anyway. I just couldn't face it.

Oh, you reminded me, Kathryn -time to start composing that 'annual' Christmas letter. How has this time rolled around so fast again?

DD & I went to the movies this afternoon and saw "Happy Feet". Just a feel good movie. DGD13 and her stepsis went to another movie -but forget what it was. Now dd and dgd are in the midst of cleaning out dgd's room so they can paint.

DH and I are both bitten up by mosquitoes -we even try not to go out once dusk starts to fall. But stray ones tend to get in I'm afraid.

DH is watching the race and I took a 'power' nap. Still don't have much power I'm afraid.

So glad to know Indiana is home and hopefully resting and getting stronger.

Emptynester, I realized that you had new photos as of this a.m.! So I can see the pansy planters and the area looks very welcoming - pretty porch. Twins Mom is right except the pansies aren't in the ground. These small planters would not keep the roots safe, so they will need a little extra attention, yes.

Dee, I must have read about coconut oil being good as a topical after the mosquito bite. That's the only thing I've run across in recent reading that might have made me think repellent. Sorry about that.

Hi, lucylee.

(((Indiana))) I'm glad finger power is improving

Harriet - My SHE cards are digital now. I use Excel to keep them organized and they file themselves when marked completed. I was VERY torn to give up the 3x5" analog cards because I love them so much. There is just something so smoothing about shuffling and refiling them. Wondering if that puts me in the loony category? WAIT!! Don't answer that question! I only gave the analog cards up because of the sheer number i am using. I'm almost afraid to admit to it....even to SHE's who know how useful cards are .....*** Deep breathe for courage**** .....I am currently using/tracking 781 SHE cards.
