Finally got the kitchen counters cleaned up, in between shaping challah and starting a new batch, and also sitting in front of the SAD light for awhile. I'm really feeling crappy/weepy - not so much physically but mentally today. DH is supposed to be helping but has sidetracked onto other jobs - one of which I've been asking him to do for weeks without success. So he's gone to the hardware store.

Continuing on the kitchen table, family room, and "hot" kitchen counter. Gonna have to do some bit time stashing and dashing here.

MT - maybe you could invent a name for that room - aka...... Digital Den

I'm in so much limbo on a couple of big life changing events, that i have to keep telling myself to ignore what I can't do anything about and keep my focus on what I can do something about.

I tweaked the time slots for doing my cards and i am hopeful the changes will work better. I'll try them for a couple weeks and see if it smooths some trouble categories.

I am back....I gave myself 45 minutes of down time. Major to-dos left:
-put together lasagne
-put together salad
-prep veggies/hummus for appetizers
-s2s

I'm going to get lasagne together next.

I'm trying to recover a computer for a friend and this is not going to end well. I finally got into Windows and got control of the computer. It is not connected to the internet but even so, something is making it behave very badly.

I've just installed Avast onto it (by moving it on via USB stick) and now have lost complete control of the computer - nothing is happening, the keyboard is live but the computer won't respond to clicks with the mouse or ctl-alt-del so I'm not sure what is up. All I was trying to do was eject my USB stick before running the scan.

Nothing else, and I mean nothing, has been done today. Except I got a phone call from someone to say they broke one of the candles at the church. So now we don't have enough for the reduced number of windows. Sigh.... This is really bugging me. Tomorrow night can't come fast enough.

Hi everyone. Dh & I ended up going to the cemetery today instead of yesterday. Stopped at a local garden center that we have never gone to before. They had beautiful grave blankets that were $10.00 less than the place we usually go to.

After lunch the plan was for dh to put together the Christmas tree, then we would put on the lights & garland & then tonight we would decorate it. Instead dh is still watching football & I've been puttering.

We used to get a live tree every year but often were delayed by work schedules or bad weather when the time came to pick out a tree together. One year we weren't able to get one until two weeks into Dec & it was then we decided to buy a nice fake tree so we could put it up whenever we wanted. This has worked out well for us; dh doesn't miss watering the tree & I don't miss paying for one every year. .

We have a small packet of leftovers for dinner tonight. Turkey, yams & some veggies. I'll make some mashed potatos & stuffing to go with it. Wonder if I have any seasoned croutons in the house? They make the best stuffing -- yum. I used to make it with 3 different flavors & just added sauted onions & celery. I made a pumpkin pie for dh yesterday since it is his favorite. It has become a tradition for him to have one all to himself. He will eat a slice every night until it is gone.

I'm feeling really sleepy so think I'll succumb to a nap challenge . Better set an alarm so I don't oversleep...

Happy moment here; dson's boss just dropped off pumpkins & squash we will take what we want and the rest will go to the church the have a food program so I'm sure they will be put to use. The ones that aren't the best might be good for some animal feed. We are going to try doing up some pumpkin fries.

I'm excited on life time tonight is a new movie by Debbie MaComber that I did not get a chance to read from one of her books.

Dinner turned out better than I had hoped. I made a turkey vegetable soup, topped with cheddar cheese and served with LC tortillas that had been buttered on both side, cut into strips and toasted in the oven until crisp. YUM!! It was similar to a tortilla soup

Since eating - I've
** cleaned up the kitchen
** polished 2 sets of boots and applied boot grease. They look good and hopefully will stay longer than normal with the extra coating on them.
** played multiple games of Tick-tack-toe with LO
** Switched out the tv antenna cable. Instead of using the TV in the attic we are now hooked up to the one that will SOMEDAY be mounted on the antenna tower. For now all the pieces and parts are together and DH has the top section of the antenna tower attached to the eve of the house while doing testing of the pieces N parts. it is an overcast rainy day here with low clouds so this isn't the day for optimal testing, but we were still able to pick up 28 channels!
** watched a bit of the Ala/ UA game just because I know a few people attending so i could pretend I could see them in the crowds.

In the last couple of days, LO has become passionate about wanting to read. He is constantly pointing to words and asking "What does that say?" Other times he just pretends to "read" and makes up something while "reading" to me.

OKay I love that pre-reading stage. They are just so cute and you can learn so much about what is going on in their heads by listening to the stories they make up.

Dh and I watched Hoodwinked and Hoodwinked Too, tonight while having dinner. We had seen the first one before, but didn't remember it well. Turns out it was just as funny the second time. There was a dyslexia joke in the second movie that had us in stitches.

I've done up the dishes and am now loading my bag for church.

I'll have to look out for the hoodwinked sequel Kathryn. yesterday afternoon- Last night ice age christmas and ice age were on. I want to see the christmas one again as just caught the end of it.

One of the baby birds came inside yesterday and couldn't comprehend the leaving process until I put up a blanket at the window, pulled blinds, closed other door to outside that was letting afternoon light in. finally success before I got back down from kitchen sink and into LR.

A memory I'll put here ... remember the days of big families and modest houses? you know 2 parents, sometimes 9 - 15 kids, 3 bedroom house, single living space. the lucky ones had an enclosed veranda space we call a "sleep out" though not really pvt as other rooms lead off it.
