My fantastic Friday started by looking out the window to see 1.5" of snow. It was everywhere except the roads.

Jake got in the salt and then the snow so his feet hurt and he laid down in the snow on his side. I got him up and in. We took a different path and he was fine.

My favorite security officer got a promotion to marketing which he did before they closed his store in Chicago. He will be very good. Our administrator told the president of the council and me yesterday. No one else knows until they announce it. We met with her to go over a few things for her to look into -TV reception and sound proofing.

WE met with the chefs to talk about diabetic offerings. Currently they offer angel food cake or fruit. I'm getting tired of only two choices. They are going to add no sugar added pies and ice cream. Later they will make desserts. I told them to make reduced sugar ones and don't mess with splenda, etc.

I do 1/4 of my plate starch, 1/4 meat and 1/2 vegetables/fruit. Sometimes I get my starch as a roll, or soup instead of potatoes. Some nights there isn't a second vegetable to pick up so they will offer a second vegetable. I have been able to ask for my fish and chicken without breading.

Even though my glucose numbers are normal I want them just a little lower to give me a cushion. Also for those nights I can't eat as healthy as I want.

I can order a half serving now. Like - pasta or meat or potatoes, etc.

We kicked around other ideas and changes with the servers.

I have been working on this since early I should send it now.

Indiana, those sound like wonderful ideas. I'm sure they're glad to have your input.

TADA! My tree is up. My house is decorated. Mostly. I'm just not up to the village this year. I'll look for some stems of poinsettia to put in my greenery basket up in the living room alcove and call it done.

Having a fun fantastic Friday here today we will take a drive to see the lights at some point this weekend.

Lilac If I only need 1 U. in insulin I do not take it b/c I know I can burn it off with my activity after talking to dr. about my lows.

Today had pumpkin for lunch w/ hb patty cheese & an egg yum!

I've done 4 mi. on the ex. bike, hoping the fog burns off so I can bag up leaves in sun rather than frozen fog.

I've been working on cooking up a large winter squash today has kept me in the kitchen off and on today. I have half done and containerized it's cooling before going in the freezer. The other half is cooked but too hot to handle for packaging up. Its a messy but rather fun job. I need to get some more containers rounded up for this. I'm going to look in the play house and see if there are any that I can use out there.

I salvaged seeds from this thinking it would be great fun to grow some! We may have squash coming out our ears next summer as I have three more diff. kinds to do this with!

Grumble, grumble, optimism may not be finding me but productivity did track me down. I'm really sore now, but:

1. The main floor is dusted and vacuumed.
2. The living room decorations are up (except for the family tree which is waiting until I decide to do it; sometime between now and the 24th.)
3. The foyer tree is up. Still need to hang the icicles (which are made of real tin so take forever to hang over 200 of them - it is a task I commonly do while on the phone.)
4. Bedroom level is dusted and vacuum is there now.
5. Church is cleaned. We vacuumed both levels, changed the bag in the church vacuum and cleaned its filter (which was caked with stuff.)
6. Mail is picked up. TV wasn't there but I knew that from the tracking website.
7. Dropped the 2012 bulletins at the church office in the next village. Also returned the library books and shut off some lights that had been left on.

Before bed I need to vacuum the bedroom level (a 15 minute task) and set the table for Sunday (a 45+ minute task.) I also have to plan the grocery shopping for tomorrow to make sure I have enough on hand for Sunday.

Dinner tonight will be pizza. Dh will starve tomorrow night because I forgot to run to the store to buy him a chicken pot pie. Or he can fend for himself, there are burgers and steaks he could make up for himself.

Tomorrow I have a seminar in the city and then a Costco run and dinner at IKEA (Canada's largest just opened here on Wednesday) and then some shopping.

Hi everyone! My crazy weekend starts tonight with a Girl Scout float decorating party for a Christmas parade tomorrow. Tomorrow DD has a Dragon Singers performance, there are 2 open houses, a potluck, and the parade. XDH and I will probably be doing these things together with DD, it doesn't make sense to take two cars to everything, especially as parking could be a problem.

Yesterday, i got the checkbook balanced after dinner with XDH and DD. One of the cats had a hairball on the bed AGAIN, so extra laundry duty today. I changed addresses at two places.

OKay: I am thinking of you, your family and especially your brother.

(((OKay))) Ditto what others have said. (((BIG HUGS))) & prayers for you & your family.

WTG, Lilac's dd! Very good idea to give gifts to the children before they leave the house. Smart girl. (Takes after her mom, I guess.)

I am too tired to post. Not a bad day... just a long week.
Music thing tonight, maybe a movie...
Shopping tomorrow...
And OH. MY. GOODNESS. Papers to grade... laundry to wash... CANNOT GET EVERYTHING DONE. And I have virtually no excuses. Just slow & lazy, I guess.

My boss has Christmas carols on his radio. My office mate has talk radio. I am trying to proofread a document. What is wrong with this picture. The talk radio is discussing favorite TV shows of liberals vs conservatives. Who the heck cares?

Did some time outside and got more leaves bagged up and swept the drive way. Took a jar of pumpkin to the neighbors that go to our church she was grateful. I knew they were diet conscious too. So I'm going to remember this and save up jars next year! I got the squash containerized it's still cooling to go in the freezer.

Elizabeth, are you allowed to use ear plugs or to play your own "white noise" to block out background noise? We have a open office, and after much discussion we may now use ear phones or ear buds and music or whatever we want to listen to. I also like Simplynoise.com for a little white noise coming out of the speakers to help block out some of the background noise. I get really edgy with a lot of noise around while I'm working.

I am with Lucylee tonight. This has been a busy week for someone who isn't working "outside the home." Tally:
1 Dr appt for me
1 Chest xray for me
1 blood drawn for HRT practitioner for me
2 dr appts for dmother, one including knee xrays
1 visit + lunch taken to bedridden dcousin with dmom
7.5 hours of continuing education that was mind-numbingly boring today (Can one die of boredom?
1 trip to K-town and back - approximately 5 hours of driving round trip, on top of the trips to dmom's and dcousin's house
got dMoses to vet for bath and remembered to pick him up again :)

Dh is going on to temple tonight but I told him I'd probably go to bed soon.

I have the weekend, and then two days next week and am gone to Wash D.C.

I am whipped tonight.

Will post in H&F in a minute also.

Nancy, I love butternut squash - hope yours is yummy!
