Motivation. Mine's missing. Anyone see it?

I'm adding annual report contributions as they arrive in my in box but aside from that, I'm just surfing the net, not copy typing in the handwritten submissions or writing my report. On the plus side, almost all the entries on my list have a check mark next to them, excepting the financial reports which won't come in until Wednesday morning.

I'm just enjoying a rather quiet day today. The original plan was to go to Mum's today, but we rescheduled for tomorrow morning after I drop the kittens at the vet. That means that I can (hopefully) avoid going out at all today! I must admit that my feet and legs are still rather sore from the unexpected exertions of the past couple of days.

Housework has been kept to a minimum - I've fed the cats, let the dogs out a few times, and folded/put away a couple of loads of laundry. DS has taken another big basket of dirty laundry to the basement for me, and there's yet another one upstairs *sigh*. I do want to get some of it done today...it would be nice to be properly caught up again.

I'd also like to get some sewing done today. Much though I've mentioned it over the past few weeks, I really haven't done any yet Then I'd love to fit a nice, long, hot bath in there somewhere...just to try to soak some of the aches away. Oh...and there's my speech to work on..it's supposed to be ready for Wednesday! Yeesh! As usual, there's a bit more to do than there is time in the day!

About 10 webpages back, I think I saw a little link in the corner that said "This way to the secret hiding place of Kathryn's motivation." Of course I can't for the life of me remember what page that was on!

Something really weird has happened to our computers. If you remember I've been complaining that mine wouldn't let me keep signed into this site and it wouldn't go to sleep. Plus DH's USB drives stopped working so his wireless mouse wouldn't work.

Last night when I brought the computers in out of the pickup I set them up - but I got them mixed up. (We each have Toshiba laptops, Mine a L655 and his a C655, so they look alike) I put my wireless mouse on DH's computer and it worked!!!

I hooked up an old wired mouse to mine and it logged onto this site and I haven't had to log on to it since. Plus it went to sleep.

I'm wondering if I had switched power cords back when they stopped working correctly. I have the power cords marked now and we will see if they keep working. Anyway we are happy all is well.

We are using today as R&R as the next two days will be a bit crazy. DH is watching football and I'm reading an fantasy story about fae.

I'm going to make some supper later but right now we are just snacking.

I do, however, need to go set up the meds container for next week. So I'll go do that. TTFN

EN great news on the power cord solution!
I'm back from my walk & checking in feeling better.
bs was great this morning
Went to bday dinner for dgd#2 & dson last night after all; then brought dgd #3 & dgson home for over night after wards. Made corn muffins from Jiffy mix I had here for breakfast warm and tasty
nice change from cold cereal learned they don't like eggs and less carbs than cinnamon rolls so I like this solution!


I did a varation on the breaded chicken breasts with fish today and h. went back for 2nds! It's always a great feeling when a new recipe is that kind of success especially when it's healthy and does not taste like it is healthy! LOL!

One report is typed. Still have another, much shorter one to do but it has numbers in columns so that's why I'm avoiding it.

I should eat some dinner. I've been sitting here watching old episodes of Mary Tyler Moore. And eating snack crackers.

Got that report done. Listening to another church service while I work.

I've got the notes out to write my report now. Sent an update to the minister, reminded the treasurers I need their reports and sent a backup of what I have now to the church office just in case.

I'm hoping to get to bed early tonight so must get my report written and then maybe edit down the Presbytery report to no more than 2 pages. I didn't write the report, it comes from Presbytery.

Dh has the sink in and it looks great. He is a real perfectionist, so I am always satisfied. Today he took down the ceiling fans at the old house that match my Pfaltzgraff and brought them over here and installed them. It really looks like home now. He still needs to put the fans from here up at the other house.

We decided to have the living room carpet at the other house cleaned. When they moved his recliner, there are some black streaks where it had sat. They should come up. When the carpet cleaner is there I am going to pick his brain about the best carpet and why. This carpet has just been cleaned about 6 weeks ago and stains are returning. He had told me that this carpet always comes clean but the stains return. He also said it lasts forever. Well that would be great but I don't want to fight carpet stains. This carpet is off white and a solid color. The lady who put it in had pets, why would she put in this light carpet? Anyway as soon as we are done with our 2 bathroom remodels, we are putting in new carpet in the living room, hall and our bedroom. At the west end of the huge room that we use for our formal dining area, we are thinking about putting hardwood floors there. You enter from the sunroom through sliding doors onto carpet. We plan to replace the sliding doors with white French doors. Anyway the way dh runs in and out, I would rather have a washable surface instead of carpet for him to walk on. I guess I should clarify that and say when anyone, me included comes in from outside, I would rather not have carpet there.

Haven't heard from dm since they hit land. Either they are sightseeing in Galveston or they decided to hit the road and get home tonight.

Today is dd's 32nd birthday. I called and found her sniffling and coughing - what a bummer. They couldn't go out to dinner this evening, everyone feels too bad. Her intention had been to go on in to work tomorrow, but she has gotten steadily worse through the day so that is up in the air. DangerBoy has missed some school days. I could hear LittleBritches in her lap whimpering. Poor things! She did get our birthday card yesterday.

The errands I got to were pharmacy and vitamin store. That's it. There is a new dollar store close to the vitamin store and we did duck in there, finding a few helpful things - bright colored heavy cotton tees for the 2 oldest grandboys were $1 each. Bright fish giftwrap for children $1. Two potholders for $1. Dollar stores are such a toss-up. You never know.

My ddad refused supper this evening saying he'd filled up on cookies, etc., while I was gone. I don't like that one bit but had to give up. He stopped me from fixing him a supper twice.

I'm glad I was ill on the days that were the worst for snow pretty low expectations! After three days of rest & taking it easy I'm starting to feel better and more like myself. Getting in the shower helped. We skipped church today just in case I was contagious.

We were not too worried about the family getting it as every one else had it or had already been around other ill family member's & h. said he was not going to go if I didn't, then I got to thinking about ice cream and I was sold on the idea of going out to a buffet! I stayed with baked fish & chicken and salad with fruit salad and a dessert they have small ones there so that was good.

I'm still digging out the kitchen but at least it's forward progress.

I told dgson that when he stays here he needs to help me roll up the bed he sleeps on as I can't do it myself and it's too hard on h.'s knees, then dgd wanted to help so we had her sit on it while we put the bungie cords around each end. Then I got the blankets & pillows folded up and put away.

I've been making progress on the library book I have here so the timing has been excellent for that! Found a refill for the pen I like too!

Hello!! Hello!!! Can't remember the exact day I last posted here, but I need to settle back into a regular routine and be more consistent with my schedule.

The last few days we have been fairly busy. Thurs. was a dr. apt. for dh and since we were out took care of our shopping errands. Yesterday we went to the graduation ceremony for ddil#2. She received her AS degree in education and received honors for magna cum laude for gpa of 98.6. ( I know I'm bragging now, but we are so proud of her!) She has signed up for her bachelors degree program now and classes start this week. Ddil's dmom and dad were able to come from north FL; it was really nice to see them again.

Thinking about all those who have not been feeling well lately and I'm glad to hear of those who are feeling better.

Helia... I felt so sorry for your dfriends who have lost their baby. I've remembered them in my prayers.

Happy Birthday to Harriet's dd32! Sorry that she's not able to celebrate it today. Also ((hugs)) for your ddad!

Lucy... hope you enjoyed the church service this evening.

Lilac... you house sounds so nice with all the special touches you have added.

Ddil#2's dmom is an avid quilter and we had a few minutes to talk about some of her latest projects. She asked if I had seen dgd17's project she had just finished. So ddil brought it with her when they came today. I was quite impressed with her work and took a couple of pictures for our craft thread. It is our flag, approximately 2 ft. by 3 ft. She designed it herself and sewed it by hand. Her dnana helped put the back on and sewed the stars for her. Ddil will hang it in their living room.

I do hope everyone who has had snowy/cold/stormy weather lately is safe with no adverse effects from it.

Dh is asleep in his recliner, so I think I'll do some reading for a while.
