I'm back. As usual, I received warnings that if this watch stops, it stops. NO MORE REPAIRS. They showed me a very nice, small display case I could purchase for $20. ;)
I know it is a crazy thing... that somewhere deep inside, I think my granddaddy is still with me if this watch is on my arm... and I know he's NOT, you know, that if the watch is in a display case, it doesn't change a thing in the world re: the fact that my granddaddy has been gone 22 years... but still. I must be the most sentimental person in the world. DS told me, "Just wear it like a bracelet if it tears up again -- you've always got your cell phone on you anyway. Nobody looks at a watch anymore."

Also talked to dparents and eased my guilt about not going out there this weekend. We talked about 10 minutes, ddad had to get off the phone b/c he started coughing, and then dmom had to let me go b/c someone was trying to call ddad.
Trying to ignore the fact that if I could get my days started before noon, I'd be able to fit in more activities....... Just not a morning person & probably won't become one at this late date.
Ohhh... Kally... how much I know what you mean there. * sigh *

:D :D :D HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, LILAC!!! :D :D :D

:D :D :D HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Mr. OKAY!!! :D :D :D
Tomorrow is another day.

Happy Birthday Lilac.

It is beautiful here today. We are under a Red Flag Warning though.

I don't think I mentioned that I bought a Kindle Fire and I love it. I should have done this a long time ago.

I'm just puttering today.

How good is the internet connection/web browser on the Kindle? I've heard conflicting reports. Dsisil has one, but she ONLY uses hers for reading. I'm afraid that will turn into a money pit for me if I get one & only use it for reading. I'll might end up downloading a million books a day! But I think I'd like to have one.

HAPPY (belated) BIRTHDAY, LILAC & Mr. LILAC!!

Happy Birthday to Mr. OKay!

Looking forward to a longer day tomorrow :) . Today I had, as P&P called it in SHE, a heavy cleaning day. The house really needed it as I let things slide while working on some office projects this past week. I also cleaned out the bottom of the hall closet & put the new cubby in there. Love it! No more mini mountain of shoes & boots all over the floor :D .

I decided recently to work on the projects that cause me the most headache. The ones that make me say, "I've got to clean out/organize/deal with that!" almost every day. Getting all the office supplies in one place & organized was first on the list. Getting the footwear neatly corraled was #2. Next up is to remove the mountain of books on my nightstand & move them to a medium sized bookcase I've already brought downstairs. Then one drawer in the bathroom needs to be cleaned out, and a few shelves in the linen closet. I like that I've given myself permission to just deal with those particular problems & not get stuck in the perfectionism of cleaning an entire closet or cabinet. Today after organizing the bottom of the hall closet I completely ignored the top shelf & all the coats & jackets that need to be sorted through & just shut the door. Same with the office -- the desk, closet, cabinet & some misc boxes are calling out, "Clean me! Clean me, too!" :P but for now I'm happy with what has been accomplished.

Indi, that book is on top of the pile on my nightstand! Haven't gotten to it yet. I read several pages in the store & didn't want to put it down. Your pond sounds so peaceful, & a great bird watching spot, too 8-) .

Hope your ((dd)) didn't break her wrist, Elizabeth.

Talking to you all in my head again :) . Enjoyed cuop. Have a good evening everyone!

Forgot to tell mention that the other day someone (I think it was Harriet? ) mentioned their old step aerobic bench. Guess what I found way back in the hall closet today? My big, clunky, plastic, purple step  ! Cue the 80's music & lets begin ... & one & two & three & four!

Well, drat! I just found the dress that I meant to wear tonight in the bottom of the basket that I use for dry cleaning. It was underneath the bags that I use to transport dry cleaning, and neither of us had realized it was there. A backup "cocktail attire" is not in my wardrobe in general. I think I have some wide legged black pants and a colorful swing style top that will work with a camisole under it. Doggone it!

I need to cuop more -perhaps after dinner.

Happy Birthday to Lilac (& belated wishes to Mr. Lilac) and a Happy Day to Mr. Okay as well!

Have to get dinner (pizza) in the oven. DD and I went out for a "girl's day out" -left at 7:30 this morning and got back around 2ish. I napped after that -amidst some reading on my K indle. (Note to LucyLee: I do use mine for reading, but dh has the "fire" and is using it a lot to do things on the internet. He LOVES it! As a matter of fact he joined 'f book' on it last night. What's wrong with this? He has it and I don't?)

2 months and I'll be back home -can hardly wait. DH leaves in about 2 1/2 weeks.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

We have enjoyed a cloudy rainy day. The weather is especially appreciated since today is Mr Okay's birthday and the rain meant we were able to travel about without taking MPB customer calls. DH has enjoyed every bite of his Birthday treats today. ...Biscuits, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, more biscuits followed by home made cinnamon rolls.  I just hope his BSugar doesn't tumble totally out of control from today.

This afternoon we went to DH DAunt visitation at a small town funeral home about 50 miles from us. We were the only ones there so was able to sit & talk with LO about it as he ask a multitude of questions.

Indiana - I'm glad you are enjoying KF! I have yet to purchase a book because every time I look at the 100 free books for the day, I always find several I want to read. DH does purchase books because he wants to only read certain authors or subjects. I enjoy all the options given. EDIT to change this.....I forgot....yes, I have purchased a book - I am reading the Hunger games which I pd $5.51. I could have borrowed it for free, but I decided to buy it since DGS14 & DGS16 have been talking about it so much.....and now DDIL is too. I must say, I am surprised to be enjoying the book as much as i am - I thought I would NOT like it at all.

Thank you for the birthday wishes. Happy Birthday Mr. Okay. That sounds like a wonderful birthday meal.

I have been able to keep up on reading posts for the last week but just can't seem to post.

Monday was dhs 60th birthday. I kept it very low key because I KNOW him and knew it would be a rough day. On his 30th birthday he was so depressed and distressed. I figured the 60th would be a repeat and it was. I fixed lasagne and a German chocolate cake. I was going to get the family together and the 2 dgd15, are still at war and haven't spoke for over 7 weeks. I decided he didn't need to watch a cold war between them. Later that evening dd2 called to wish him happy birthday and then told me he would have felt better if he had people around him who loved him. I told him what she had said and he told me she needed to mind her own business. All righty then...........

We have not shown the house since last Friday. :( Although I have had several calls. Dd1 told me that since the school district is changing boundaries that there are people that will sell their houses so that they can move where they want their kids to attend. Luckily both of our houses are in the 2 most desired school areas. I know that is not the right word but for the life of me, I can't pull it out.
