TUESDAY TIME

I am fascinated by the process I'm going through simplifying my life. I'm learning more and more about myself. I am also looking hard at things I do. Is it necessary? It is taking a while because it isn't a priority and I don't want to burn out.

Jake's trainer comes tomorrow and there is a council meeting Thursday and Jake goes to the groomer.

The county appraiser came and measured. Sure enough, at some point someone mis-measured. It had gone un-noticed until I decided to appeal and had brought our appraisal to the meeting. Since part of your county appraisal is based on the size of the house, it ought to go down, at least a little.

It is another beautiful day. Dd1 has came down with a horrible cold, so she won't be able to walk with me.

We are back from errands dgd is not in nap mode sun is out so walk may be in order. Food is put away house looks great as we spiffed it up before we left. Only two more pupperts to make up for this batch. Did get our walk in to see the baby goats this afternoon.

Another beautiful day here. No need for a coat today. Stopped at S am's & realized that I had left my list on the kitchen counter. Grabbed a pad from the glove box & recreated it as best I could before going in. Found out when I returned home that I only forgot one item, so was pleased with that . After unloading I stopped at the bank, made a post office run, bought two birthday presents & swung by the dollar store for cards.

The time and cardfile discussions have been so interesting to read. A few weeks ago I switched back to cards after using a planner & like it better. I've always kept the same running To Do notebook with both the cards & the planner, & really like the "File It & Forget It" aspect of the cards. When things crop up unexpectedly it is so easy to move cards forward, rather than having to rewrite the entry in my planner on another day. And while I like crossing things off the daily lists in the planner, I disliked when everything didn't get done & I would be constantly flipping back the pages to see what I missed that still needed doing.

Hope Kathryn & Ken are having an easy & uneventful travel day as they head back home from their adventures.

Need to answer an email, feed dpets, & get dinner started. Have a good evening, everyone!

Ds26's birthday today - ds27 will be hard to type in the future! He, ddil and charming baby came for dessert this evening. HRH has made him a silly JibJab type movie using his face and ddil's. We talked about a lot of carefree things and also talked about a lot of serious things since they someday want to build a home near us and there are many parts to that puzzle. Ddil was saying this would surely be the biggest long-term undertaking they would make, including the sale of the home they have now. But it is a hopeful situation - a good problem to have. I was able to interject one idea that seemed to help.

Good night all! I am off to Girls Night Out. I will certainly be eating Chinese, but I don't know if I will be doing Chuck E Cheese. It is harder for DD10 to play games with a cast on. Tonight I need to remember to put the check out for the maids and a note not to clean the bathtub that is being fixed.

Today is the last day dcatColby must be medicated. Hope this does the trick for some time to come! Thanks to Dove for the reminder to wrap him in a towel. That has worked well, despite my awkward attempts to get his long legs thoroughly wrapped.

It is warm today, high near 80F, which is too warm for March IMHO.

Harriet, I remember how happy my dsis was when her youngest finally got past the AR age. If I remember correctly, 9th grade was the cut-off.

Ah, the cards vs. planner debate. I've used both, well I've had both, used might be a stretch. Right now I have a killer control journal and basic weekly plan, at least on paper

Lilac, my house's appraised value is inching up also. There have been some recent sales on my street, so I guess that makes my house more valuable?? I should look to see what they say my square footage is as I also have a partial basement. hmmm...

Funeral and family gathering went well. I stopped by vet office to pick up Buddy, however they wanted to keep him overnight so I will pick him tomorrow.

LO & I picked up Chinese take out and surprised DParents with it.

Switching phone carriers, setting up new phones, porting our phone numbers and getting the early termination fee waved due to lack of coverage has occupied my time for the past 2 hours.

AR woes: DGS12 had one day left, and 100+ pages... a H Potter book. He read in the car, in the cafeteria, in the car again, at the game practice, took the test & missed a few questions, squeaked by. How do the kids get all that done with baseball, youth band, community service hours all colliding?

Oh, that book you guys were discussing...didn't sound very good to me, with all the dieing.

(OKay) have a safe trip tomorrow.

Pollen is really bad here right now. Pine pollen. Yellow all over everything. It's even bothering me a bit and I'm not particularly sensitive to pollens.

Spent too much time out shopping today. Took overdue book to library, owed 25¢. Cheaper than buying the book! I've renewed it several times. Our library lets us renew a book indefinitely as long as someone hasn't reserved it. Dinner in the crockpot, yummy, just for Indiana(!) sauerkraut (with apple and br sugar) pork, mashed potatoes. DH's favorite meal too.

I have been resisting The Hunger Games for the past three years. My students have been reading it constantly, I've read a million book reports on it, they keep telling me, "You HAVE to read this, Mrs. Lucylee!!!" Well. FINALLY, today, after another English teacher STRONGLY recommended it ... I have started it. And I have to admit, it really draws you in quickly. So I'll probably stick with it and see what all the fuss is about. It does sound depressing to me... but I think it is going to be sorta interesting (inspiring, even?) to see how the main character survives. (Surely she DOES survive the first book! How could there be a trilogy if she gets killed off in the very first book? I guess she COULD die & they could follow up w/her family.)

Apparently the "games" are a sort of reminder of the government's power, a way to keep the people under control.
