I am up, breakfasted, and S2Cactus clothes. My first job today is to cut up the branches I cut off the palo verde trees yesterday. Then I should be able to drive the Rhino thru most of my yard. It has made a big difference in what I can see out of my window. I still have two more trees to trim but this one was the most needed as the branches were low.

I was able to get 3/4 of my goal yesterday. The two big agaves at the corner of the lot are trimmed and the one palo verde tree. Today my goal is to get all the trash (agave swords and palo verde branches) picked up and two smallish agaves pulled.

I will be posting before and after pictures on Sunday on my blog.

Dh's back was a bit more sore yesterday than the days before. I think he did too much on Tuesday. He learned he had to keep it slow and easy.

I'm going to get my drink and put on my steel toed boots and start cutting up branches. TTFN

K in C I to enjoyed your travel adventures glad you are home safely. You inspired me to rethink my nicer clothes for church and other this year. I've gotten a few new pieces green or black that go well with the blue I had and my options have nearly doubled! Yea!

Dgkids were here until seven last night.
Then got a call from a Realtor we have a showing today at five, so I did several rounds and the kitchen looks wonderful this morning.
I'm having coffee and had my granola bar cookie dough is gone.
42*-56* is today's temp. range w/ rain in our forecast.

The current "puppet project" is done dgds took them home with him for his class today is the last day of school for them this week so hoping that they get to use them for some fun today!
I'm taking a break from yarn crafts as my thumbs both have cracks and are painful waiting for them to heal up and hoping I've figured out what to knit up in the mean time.

I laughed really hard at a rerun of big bang theory the one w/ Sheldon's interview on PBS and laughing gas last night! Such a hoot! I've seen most of them now and am caught up to the new ones.

Gave up idol I have no fav. this year I"m watching sun's of guns got caught up in the drama of that show. Have you seen Jenifer Lopez and Mark A. show about getting Latin Am. talent for a Los Vegas show? [Mark A. is just creepy to me.]

Brrrrr, it's cold here! Two days ago when dh & I walked I wore a T-shirt & capris. Today I was glad I grabbed ear muffs & gloves as we headed out the door.

This afternoon will have a Desk Day focus. I really want to clear this table off. Dh is working on a project in the basement, so it is nice & quiet up here. But first, I'll continue to sip my hot cocoa & cuop from the last couple of days.

I feel really awful right now. Sore throat, achy, tired and my tummy is upset (that could be the half bag of baked cheetos I ate.) My TOM is due today (I finally figured out just when) and all of this could be attributed to that and jet lag. I just hope it comes.

There's so much to do, I just can't lie around feeling sick.

I'm heating a tin of soup for lunch and then I'll barrel out for my board meeting, pick up some groceries and then go to the doctor's appointment.

I've not use the morning wisely. To start with, I stayed in bed past 9 (took too much melatonin last night.) Secondly, I've removed most of the winter decorations and put out a new wreath, centrepiece and brought up the umbrella stand. All this needed to be done but wasn't top priority. One load of laundry is hung to dry, the second is in the machine now. I'm going to run out of hanging space so may slow down on that project.

Next challenge, run through the mail quickly looking for cheques since I'm going to the village with our bank.

I forgot to log out or take down the INet so it looked like I was here for a very long time!

My auditor came, hobbled in with her 3 broken bones on her feet; she was wearing a velcro brace, and dr. had told her just to stay off it 1 week.... which I and everyone she's talked with have questioned. 2 breaks are toes but one is up on the top of her foot, and we're all wondering why she's allowed to walk.I could tell she was in quite a bit of pain.

But audit went well, this is a really nice woman, but she always gets my figures sorta wrong and defers to the workers comp audit which is right on the money. She was about 20,000 off this time.

So I guess I'll go back to my sewing. I've sewed a little bit and ripped out a lot so far.

Good morning everyone! I survived my first animal org board meeting yesterday. DD10 stayed with XDH because I got home late. I am really tired as a result. The maids came and the house smelled good. At payroll I am still on flowcharts. DD is coming back tonight, but XDH will be feeding her dinner. I will probably work late and eat cereal. My back doorknob is loose, so I have to fix that tonight. I still need to fix the bathtub, work on Bug-A-Boo, and update Quicken. None of these will happen until DD is back at XDH's house Saturday night. I am supposed to have lunch with a friend, but I don't know where yet. I would like a nap, but will get back to flowcharting instead.

Mail pile is now gone through. Two small cheques and one large bill due today were the net result. I paid the bill online so that is done. Must note to self not to go away past March 15 because that is when house taxes are due but they don't issue the bill until the end of Feb so I don't know how much to prepay.

My board meeting was only 35 minutes, possibly a record for us.

So I have the banking and two grocery stores done and those groceries put away. I'm going to try and hang up the second load of laundry before heading off to the doctor and the last grocery store.

I still feel lousy but at least now I have something to show for my day so that feels good.

I figured out what happened with the water in the basement. Our water furnace pumps any excess heat it produces to the water heater. With us gone, even with the electricity to the water heater off, the furnace kept heating the hot water tank up and there was no way for the heat that was building to be discharged. Eventually pressure built up in the tank. There is a valve on the tank to release the pressure (i.e. water) when it reaches a dangerous point and obviously it reached that point. This is my working hypothesis (thought up all by myself but confirmed with a HVAC specialist on the housing board) which explains why things are damp but drying and why no further water came out when we actually turned on the water supply to the tank (and the house.) I'm not sure how to avoid this from happening in the future, except by not going away in the winter or for such a long period of time but at least I know I probably have no problem with the water systems in the basement.

Alrighty! 2 steps forward and then a long pause. AFter much-to-do-about-nothing, I was able to get my contacts (>700) copied to phone. Then I started working on DH contacts (>250) and the at&t website said they were down for maintenance. Really?! Argh! Sooooo....this almost finished project is on hold.

I have never had such awesome vegetable garden. The mild winter weather has allowed most everything to grow. One of my daily goals is to eat something from the garden which I thought would be very limited this time of the year. However I'm pleasantly surprised of the variety of vegetable there are to harvest & choose from.
