Spent the last hour working on paper/decluttering. Only have to do 30 minutes to keep my chain intact, but figure I'll add "X" for those days on the road & when I first get home. We'll be flying low since that Saturday is the dedication for Zoe's Memorial Garden & Sunday is our shower for DS-A & DDIL.
Came across this quote from someone on the old boards while decluttering paper this morning. I had typed it out -may be me meaningful for someone here today:
Bonus Magic Maker: ~Dinner ~ Dishes ~ Duds ~ Daily's ~ Declutter ~ Deep Clean for 15 ~ Delight! If you do these 7 D's daily, you will reach SimpliCity! You will be totally amazed at how easy it can be to have control over your home and your life!
Remember that one? It's niggling at my brain who wrote it, but can't quite get it out.
Have to pick gd at 3 and it's (past) time for lunch.
I was up and at em because I had to leave the house at 8:40. Made it. Barely. Not exercising made it work. I did get the bed made and the dishwasher emptied.
Met with a friend for a chat. Then I picked up a few groceries and came home.
A sunny day here, I'm going out to the porch for just a few minutes. It's a bit later than normal to do that.
Electric company has a tree crew out here trimming our trees. DH stayed home to make sure the trees are trimmed and not butchered as many people's have been. The people complain but didn't voice their concerns as the trees were done.
Had Doctor's check up and everything is fine. Good cholesterol is down just a little but will have to work on that.
Been doing research on mammogram alternatives. Sorry but the process just turns me off. Had at least 3 ladies in my small group at work say that they got a good mammogram and then within
3 weeks found a lump on their own. Don't know if mammogram reading wasn't efficient or if the squeezing and radiation might have caused the lump. So looking into Thermography, it's completely painless and shows abnormalities that could turn into something, years ahead of time. Of course I don't know if I want to know years ahead of time that I might have a problem.
And then there is the colonoscopy. I just don't know.
Guess I would rather put my efforts into being as healthy as I can through eating and exercise, good habits rather than being on guard and looking for problems.
Don't mean to offend anyone, and apologize if I do, just doing some pondering.
I have no idea how I FINALLY did it, but managed to post the two pictures I have so far of Zoe's Memorial Garden (in members only). That has been a project! (for me at least). Now it's time to pick up gd.
Dee - glad the "Don't Break the Chain" is working for you. I have 3 days in a row of 2 hrs. and love the results to show for the effort. I'm just getting ready to start on my 2 hrs. for today.
I found the post you were referring to saved under Organizational Tools and Skills – Routines – Thoughtful quotes. Indiana put it there after I had posted it in PWYC years ago.
Here's Sparkle's original post:
8 D’s to do Daily to reach Simplicity
Dinner ~ Dishes ~ Duds ~ Daily’s ~ Declutter for Fifteen ~ Deep Clean for Fifteen ~ Declaw your Papertiger for Fifteen ~ Delight ! )
If you are tired of just surviving in the clutter and chaos of ClutterVille and you are ready to start thriving in the peace and serenity of SimpliCity this challenge will get you off to a great start!!
If you do these Eight D’s Daily you will reach SimpliCity! You will be totally amazed at how easy it can be to have control over your home and your life! )
We must make time for the DELIGHT! It's fun to add a touch of delight after each "D" that you have completed!
I had a feeling it was Sparkle who originated that post. Thanks for the additional info, Sherinjoy.
DD just called and is on her way home. Also said that a sheriff will be here shortly to take a statement from gd. Guess I'd better go pick up a little. Praying this all has a good ending for everyone!
I got the spots up off the kit. floor.
Lunch is over.
Then later I dried off the table on the deck.
Last load is going in the dryer now.
Sheets are clean and back on the bed & it's made.
Granny duty is underway & I'm picking up hot spots as I go.
We are back from a walk to see the baby goats dgd loves that she said not walk see the baby goats meaning not in the field but w/ me pushing her in the stroller down the road a mile and back. Clouds were threatening but went around us.
Dgson is not coming on the bus today here.
Dgd is going to swimming lessons with her dad today after he gets off work.
Dee and Sherinjoy, I really like that quote / poem. I have it printed out somewhere around here. I found my copy of the quote on a card on the cover of my household notebook but I'd left off the last couple sentences, so I copied them too. It is so inspirational, don't you think?
I stayed busy today. Just puttering around type of stuff. After all the stuff I did it still doesn't look very good. I guess I need to do some more.
Indiana, those treats sound delicious, your staff / neighbors are lucky to have you there nearby. I'm sorry about the trash pickup. But do I understand they are still doing yours? I would think they should, since assisted living is just that, assisted. Good grief, people complain about everything, don't they?
I guess I will have to make another batch of sandwiches for DH to take tomorrow for him and his helper. The job he did today extended onto tomorrow with a few other things they decided they wanted. Good, but that means another lunch. They are working out in the boonies and only have the great big gass-guzzler truck with them to go back and forth.
Whenever I don't have something to do, I work on my quilting. It is keeping me busy.
My day has gone from worse to worser in an odd way that may eventually be for the best. At the appt, the new (woman) thyroid doctor totally took me by surprise and said, don't go on wondering whether this is benign - I'll do a another biopsy myself right now. Wow. The previous biopsy had been a hospital affair that cost me plenty and seemed like a very big deal.
We stepped across the hallway to special equipment and with the help of a nurse and a (woman) representative from a lab who was there that day teaching a technique, she did! Quickly I had called HRH and said I wouldn't have time to pick up dd. Dr numbed topically (as I thought clearly of my last words to OKay yesterday about how I'd want more drugs!!!) and told me not to swallow or cough until given permission! I'd say of all the situations that can put you on alert, having a dr come at you and sink a needle into your neck, only to inform you "deeper now" - well, that's an eye-opener. That happened several times, I listened to the lessons on slides, and the three very bright women's opinions on competing theories of either alcohol- or air-drying of cells and genetic testing of call samples days after they are taken.
I was bandaged by the nurse who insisted the dr had been exaggerating about how much blood there was , and tada. I'm here to tell about it and don't have to pay another hospital bill - yet. The dr's opinion was "if you do have to have surgery, that's expensive enough without paying extra." 7 percent do have to have surgery, but even if that's me, there is easy recovery, excellent prognosis, and this dr is a crack surgeon.
Of locations to have needles stuck, I still give the eye the nod as far as seriously amazing procedures, but I'll take this for enough excitement today.
But then there I was in the commuter traffic on the way home, and it was an adrenaline-pump-a-minute. There were a few times I thought I was more stressed than in the dr's office, but uh, no, not really! LOL I do feel bruised. I may leave this bandage on a day if for no other reason than to remind myself of slow neck movements. My first few swallows of water at home were ouchies, but not so much any more.
sherinjoy and Dee, thank you for bringing those familiar words back in to "see" us! Yes, Sparkle of course. Now I remember. ClutterVille, SimpliCity, . Sparkle used to do the fitness thread, too, didn't she? Who was it who did 365 days of exercise? I associate Dee with that, but I'm thinking it may have been Sparkle who did it and Dee who bragged on her.
Sadie consider an ultrasound. I've had that and Kathryn has recently. My doctor says he is fine referring for an ultrasound, so I would think must drs are, and it would be available in lots of places.
