Just booked a motel room for the night DH will be in the hospital. They even gave me a $20 discount because of his being in the hospital. Nice room, free breakfast, free WIFI, hot tub and pool. AND I don't have to drive in Phoenix traffic. What more could I want??

I was able to get all of yesterday's list done. PLUS I fixed a nice veggie tray and we went to the Park Beautification Committee's farewell for the season pot luck. It was nice, but it got cold. So we came home and read a while.

Today we finish filling the cactus trailer and will take it to the dump. They will even unload it for us. It will cost about $15.

Time to get moving. BBL

Last night, I bought more kitty litter and went to the church meeting. I didn't do anything else though. I should have done some laundry and emptied the dishwasher at least. I realized Lent was over and I no longer needed to do my Lent stuff, but now it is a good habit. For some reason I am extra tired this morning. I pick up a new foster cat at the vet today. I have to set up the sewing room for her. I am going to try to get to bed early tonight.

Hello everyone. I am taking a break here.

I am the least superstitious person I know. I am, however, very careful walking under ladders - mostly because I've seen DH's tools falling from the top many times.

Harriet, I would say the 13th is very lucky for you!

I am staying very busy. DH has the teens coming tonight for a bonfire. I am picking up the stuff around here I don't usually even "see" unless I look at it with the thought that strangers will be in my home. So I have cleaned off the mantel (valentine cards still there) and the bulletin board which had old stuff. And lots of stuff in the kitchen, papers mostly.

By the way, OKay, that sounds like a lot of papers. I hadn't realized anyone but me and maybe Kathryn had this much paperwork all the time. We need to fire up the paperwork challenge thread. How is everyone doing with their taxes and paperwork that produces? My desk at the present time is very cluttered. I must get to that this afternoon also.

Must clean 2 bathrooms. Must put sheets back on bed in one guest bedroom. Must vacuum and mop. Must dust. And between all that I'm sewing.

Question from Harriet about my thimble, yes I'm using the thimble. However, the fingers that get sore are the ones that "receive" the point of the needle. I no longer get sore on the "pushing the needle" finger, but I don't know how to stop the other. If I put some kind of protection on the receiving finger I can't feel when it comes through the material to help rock it the other direction. I keep alternating fingers, but two of them are looking bad already.

I'm being not productive again today.

Taxes aren't due here until the 30th. But since I've started none of the 5 returns I do, I should be panicking. The software is loaded on my computer.

I have done my devotions today, two loads of laundry are on the line and I exercised. I also did a quick run through the bookcases looking for books to donate. I kept finding books I mean to read..... Today is the donation deadline for the school book sale. We'll walk the books over soon. And possibly 'forget' the date of the sale since we obviously don't need to add to our 'to-read' shelf!

Harmony, I have not used my leather thimble enough to know whether I could feel an "off" hand needle prick or not. (Off hand meaning one under fabric where eyesight is useless to help.)

DPCs and also some dreaded e-mailing today. I gave my "yea" vote to a DOT offer (demand) to purchase a thin sliver of land from a dear aunt's property. DOT is willing to do a curb-cut for a driveway, so there will be some value to that. I discussed insurance arrangements for my ddad's truck and may decide to switch companies. His license goes out this year and the rate for uninsured drivers who still own vehicles is higher. Or if he goes ahead and transfers ownership to me as eventual inheritor now, which his lawyer suggests, it could be insured under my house policy at a discount. I do not like this truck, btw - long wheelbase makes maneuvering and parking difficult, and the windows roll clumsily - but having it makes my ddad happy.

Still have soreness when I look to the side.

(((Harriet)))) hope the soreness passes quickly and the test results hold nothing but good news.

YES to daily paperwork challenge being necessary! Our paperwork may be different forms but the continual influx is quickly overwhelming if ignored for a couple of days.

Alrighty! Looks like Kally and I might have some excitement later. Our local weather people are going bonkers with the warnings already and nothing IRL has even developed yet. Their computer models show everything is coming together and pointing to "PDS" Particularly Dangerous Situation..... Multiple tornadoes, baseball size hail and 70 mph wind later today. At least no one can say they weren't warned. If they are listening to TV, radio or FB....we have been told to get ready to rock-n-roll.

I think everything that can be done to protect garden is done. Wire cages and metal cans are over/around most of the young plants. Hopefully it will help minimize the worst of the potential hail beating and wind. Livestock/critters/furkids have places to go for cover. Storm cellar with strong door and tie down is ready. Maybe I will be waaay over cautious and gather items ....meds, digital devices, red book.....hum....thinking what would I miss the most if my house blew away?

Okay take care!

Mail has come h. is doing errands I'm getting the house Realtor ready as much as I can today.
We've had a call this week and lots of fliers have left so it's just in case but with the good weather we have for the weekend & 1st part of the week decided I needed to get in gear. Glad to be on top of it now. After the all gkids were here so much last week for spring break; it seems like I was lolly gagging actually I was out side; the inside needed attn. so now I'm happy to report just a couple things left and it will be good to go! One pile of papers to deal with in a a couple of rooms and mopping but that is one of those last minute things.

H. said we are supposed to get more rain tonight so I guess I was premature in the bit of deck and patio staging that I did but easy enough to undo that just take off the table cloth and move the chairs back under the eves.
