Re: MOVIN' MONDAY
Good morning everyone! Well, I did not take DD10 to the amusement park. She wanted a sleepover instead. They did an art project and argued. After the guest left we went to a pizza/amusement place for dinner. Big mistake, not enought points on her card and I could not do more than two spinning rides. Should have done the amusement park, but she wants to do that next weekend with XDH. Sunday, I was afraid I would be mopey because the adoption clinic was cancelled and I would have a long period of time with nothing to do. However, I volunteered at a different clinic and got some crochet done there. When I got home I was very productive: worked on tub, worked with foster cat, cooked food for lunches this week, paid bills, and updated Quicken. This morning I remembered my list for errand day. I need to do serious house clean up, slumber parties are messy. I am, as always, tired and want to go to bed early tonight.

Re: MOVIN' MONDAY
Dee: we have snow. Quite a lot, at least 2". Everything was covered and looked pretty if you could ignore that it is late April, I was wearing my African dress last week and half my garden decorations (which are not snow-load safe) are out. Around 10 it switched to freezing rain or ice pellets (not sure which, but I could hear the ticking on the window) and now it is straight rain.
Glad I don't have to drive anywhere today!
I spent ages on the treadmill. Used the strap that came with the heart-rate-monitor I bought yesterday and it was quite erratic until I rewet the contacts against my skin. Then it was very good for a long time. When I'm walking 3.7 mph, I know my heart rate isn't 60 but that's what both the treadmill and wrist band said, so I knew the transmitter strap was at fault today.
I've stripped and remade the bed, s2s, swished the bathroom and had breakfast. But it is noon so that's really not a lot to talk about.
Had a very amusing half asleep/half awake dream between and 7 and 7:30 and I'm still chuckling to myself. I dreamed I was watching the hockey game tonight with the team's captain (he is injured so we aren't sure if he'll play tonight) and I kept falling asleep while waiting for the game to start. Everything that was covered on the radio in that half hour, plus the sound of the exercise bike that dh was using, were in my dream. It was dh laughing at the tv show he was watching while working out that finally woke me up. In my dream I knew it was 7:30 and the hockey game is supposed to start at 7 so I couldn't figure out why the news was still on and the puck hadn't dropped. Of course, the 7:30 I was hearing was a.m. and the game isn't until tonight.

Re: MOVIN' MONDAY
Good luck with your appointment, MT.
Lucylee, how about a potluck supper / shower?
I have cuop's and really enjoyed all the kid events, parties, games, etc. I'm impressed at how y'all put so much time and effort into your families.
Sat. it was grey and rainy off and on. Greened up the grass nicely. But I was not feeling 100% so I sat most of the day at my quilt rack. DH vegged in front of the TV and left all his chores till Sunday. That made Sunday a too busy day for both of us.
Sunday church, I went but wasn't feeling well and got up from the pew just before the singing started and came home. I had to go back and pick up DH, but I was just too uncomfortable to sit there. DH was going to help with the floors in here because he had the youth group coming in the eve. and who knows how many parents...but he ran out to pick up a couple things and never came back for a few hours. So that left it all to me.
I managed to get whole house cleaned, sheets back on the one guest bed that's visible from the hallway to the bathroom. I also cleaned out the refrigerator including taking out all the bins, shelves and cleaning. I really needed to get all the garbage out of the house before people came.
We had over 40 kids here
and I didn't count the hotdogs like OKay did, but there was a huge bunch. The oldest teen of the group cooked the dogs while we ran around doing everything else. The boys ran around like crazy after each other and the girls took all the chairs and gossiped on the porch....boys are much more interested in the bonfire than the girls are. They love gathering brush and "feeding" the fire.
There was so much running back and forth (and it's a long distance from the door to the firepit, that my legs were super tired. I need to resweep the floors and mop again. I don't think anyone wiped their feet on the mat at the door. DH is out returning coolers, equipment, etc. to the church. He has a job scheduled for this week starting tomorrow and I will have to make lunches again.
I hope everyone has a great week. Glad to read Mr. MT is doing better. (Lynlee) I'm sorry you've lost your DGPig. Unreal about the sudden snow again up north. I'm sure glad I'm not back in Pittsburgh!

Re: MOVIN' MONDAY
I've managed to keep 'movin' along this morning. Have a pot roast going for dinner with all the extras thrown in (potatoes, onions, carrots) -hoping it'll taste good. Good day for it. It's pretty cool and breezy here. I have all the windows and doors closed -it's been quite warm so it feels 'cool'.
DH called earlier and they had had quite a bit of wet, heavy snow at that point. Texted pictures of the memorial garden to dfriend who is now the campground manager. She's like a daughter to us so hope that relationship continues -especially since she and dh are now co-workers!
Trying to figure simple and easy food for DS-A's & DDIL's baby shower (know where you're coming from, LucyLee!). Right now we've come up with pulled pork/rolls, potato chips. The pork I can buy at S A M's and it's really quite good. As of last night we still don't have a spot for this shower and it is in 3 weeks! DH said the fire chief is calling to see if he can reserve a pavilion in that same town today. We can't and DS-A can't as we're in a different township. At least the chief and his wife (very close friends of DS's) are invited so it can justly be in their name -IF we can get it. It's Mother's Day so I'm questioning it. If not I will be on the phone tonight to see if I can procure our Fellowship Hall at church. These invitations HAVE to go out NOW!
Think I'm about done buying my gifts for the shower -now to get them all wrapped. We don't want to leave anything much to do on SAturday, the 12th. The Dedication for DZoe's Memorial Garden is set for noon that day and we want our focus to be on her and DS's family.
Have spent about 30 minutes total cleaning in the office so far today and did the dishes. Also did a LOL for us and have it folded & put away. Off to spend 10 more minutes doing something.
Glad I'm not there for this snow 'event' either Harmony.

Re: MOVIN' MONDAY
We had a scheduled outage for water from 8 am to noon. It just came back on so that is a nice surprise.
My oxygen company just left. My concentrator had a yellow light on and wasn't producing enough oxygen so they switched it. I was getting enough oxygen just not at the higher level I wanted. This concentrator is quieter.
As if it makes a difference I like the color better. It is a medium grey and the other was a beige.

Re: MOVIN' MONDAY
Today I've slept in a bit.
No granny duty today.
H. is slept in as well.
I got the lawn mowed yesterday afternoon knew dgd was comin' today so thought I should get that out of the way. It was the nicest day we have had so far this year. 83* today 85* is the predicted high temp. Tomatos are in I still need to plant seeds for squash and pumpkins.
s2s x
breakfast x
walk x
prune roses x
The promise of spring color and seeing animals got me moving today I saw a deer, baby goats, and spring blooms on my walk this morning. Phew almost waited too long pant pant pant!

Life is always nicer when we can be surrounded by colors we like,Indiana.
Time I stopped for lunch I guess. Trying to 'time' my eating and eat less?

Re: MOVIN' MONDAY
I'm still avoiding working on the taxes. It is such a miserable day here, I just want to veg. Dull outside and constant sound of rain on the roof. Plus cold.
I'll turn on the fireplace and make myself a cup of something hot to drink. I had soup for lunch because it is that sort of day.

Re: MOVIN' MONDAY
Lunch is consumed. I forgot my utensils today and had to borrow a knife. All I had was a knife and spoon. Worked for the rice, but I probably looked pretty silly with the chicken. I am looking at my errand list and I can probably get it in two stores. I have groceries and household stuff. I may go to Bed Bath Beyond for some though. They might have a better selection of twin sheets than Target, and certainly more candles. Mostly I just want to get to bed early tonight.

I was doing some work on my computer and fell asleep in mid sentence. I think it is time for a nap.
