We walked .8 miles this morning. My knee is protesting big time - but exercise is good. We don't go very fast but at least we go.

Our friends up the block are leaving for the summer today. I will be sad to see her go. They are meeting several other of our neighbors (who have already left) in Seattle and doing a cruise to Alaska. Maybe next year for us.

List of phone calls for today. Set up physical therapy for my knees, set up either therapy or chiropractor appointment for DH. Check on campground in MI (DD#2 thinks they have closed).

Finished breakfast and meds - next up is to find the kitchen.

Trivia learned over the weekend - There are only 400 Scottish Wildcats, Britain's only remaining large mammal predator, left in existence, and a preserve is being planned for them in northern Scotland. If they cannot be protected, extinction is projected in 5 years. I learned this from the representative of Clan MacBain, because the Wildcat is their symbol. They were formerly MacBean, and so their gift to help each visiting child remember them was a baggie of Jelly Belly beans in their 5 different Clan colors.

I have another piece of trivia for H & F forum when I get a chance.

Breakfast was apple and oatmeal.

HRH expected back home in an hour or two, and none too soon to help with my ddad, really. He and dd13 both had very early mornings today. Dd is helping at a county Special Olympics event, wearing her school sweatshirt on this cold day. On this odd day of sunshine but cold temps, I hope she doesn't sunburn.

Ds just called - they got in this morning from their trip to the graduation, so all is well.
If anyone remembers that I had asked during the Japanese nuclear disaster for prayer for Joe in the service on duty near there and deployed to help, well, ddil's sister and Joe are now married, she graduated college the other day, and they have bought a little townhome and are very happy. I think he is home for good now, not certain.

I'm back from my two and one quarter mi. walk. Glad I'm done early a/c is on it's stuffy out.
Will need to kick in gear and get out there earlier as summer approaches glad I was up at six so
I could do it earlier today than yesterday.

My doing a little bit of this and a little bit of that has been productive.

I re-purposed a small rectangle trash can to put my oxygen bottle that I'm currently using in it so it doesn't tip over. There is plenty of room for the cannula too. The trash can is too small for trash but perfect for an oxygen bottle.

I changed a light bulb for the small lamp I keep on an antique washstand. The washstand is in the foyer as soon as you come in. I like to have a small light there when it is dark and I come in. 100 watt and 60 watt were just too bright for what I wanted so I tried a 25 watt and I like it.

I moved my grabbers for getting things on the floor or up high to an more accessible place.

So I have been doing that kind of stuff.

750 = Trivia score. I missed two questions that were worth 10 and 50 points.

Picnic was fun. Afterwards I sat and watched DH and LO fish on a pier. It was short fishing time (less than 30 minutes) because that was the limit of LO patience for the fish to get his worm. Three fishing trip and zero fish caught. Hopefully sometime in the near future we can catch one!

Back home. My piece of trivia is the zipper was invented in Canada. Don't know why that was left out of the google article.

Presbytery work went well. I have guidance and a task (write myself a job description and I can continue to volunteer for a while even after the shut down.)

Lunch was lovely. Tasted wonderful.

Hair cut was very good too. The hair washer gives amazing scalp massages.

From there we went to the jeweler. Found a ring that is almost perfect. Would have come home with the sample (he actually offered it to me for a week to see if I loved it but I knew I loved it already.) Using that as a starting point, he is now tasked with designing a ring specifically for me. He tasked me with finding all the unused gold I have to cut the cost of the redesign but quoted me $100 per gram which has to be wrong since that works out to $2800 per ounce for gold. I think he's off by a factor of ten. I have 6 or perhaps 10g of gold to trade in but if it is only worth $10/g I may not bother. My first wedding ring and my sweet 16 signet rings are two of them. I might also trade in my age 13 birthstone ring but it would only add another gram. I don't wear any of these rings.

I also have a pair of earrings from dh's mom that add another 4g and he's ok with me melting down if they are real gold (they might be plate, I don't know how to tell and can't find a mark on them. Anyway, everything is in a baggie and I'll take it all in when we go back.

Next up, dinner. Dh cooked.

Kathryn, I hope your ring turns out perfectly.

MT, are you doing anything else besides therapy for your knees? How is that supposed to help? I ask because DH's knees are worse again. He is really struggling at work, can hardly get up and down and says it's because of the pain.

Odd day here as DH was off early and I was right behind him on my way to volunteer at church. Got a bad paper cut off the edge of one of those self-seal envelope flaps and had to go hunt up a bandaid in the office. It was very sore for a bit and I'm afraid to take the patch off, don't want to bleed on my fabric.

Got a couple things at the grocery and a couple things at the fabric store on the way back. Someone had tucked a 20% off coupon between a couple of the bolts and I got some things for next couple projects while the pricing was good. It always takes me a bunch of time there in that store!

The rest of the afternoon was one phone call after the next. A teenager came by to help post pictures of the bonfire. We've heard that we may have a ban on fires in a week or two so that may be the last fire until rainy season.

I'm going back to my sewing.

I really like the container for my oxygen bottle. It would fall over before especially when Jake would accidentally hit it when he was throwing his stuffed horse or mallard. He hit the container tonight and no fall.

My new silk flower arrangement came today. I have been fluffing it off and on. It is for the ledge outside my door. I have a bouquet of silk flowers that is a good height but this is the perfect height. Now I will have several arrangements so that I can change hem.

I just love when I keep a wish list at various sites so when they go on sale or offer free shipping (if it isn't standard for them) I can order it. It also works if I get enough required $ for free shipping if they do it that way.

Just wrote something to the minister that required an immediate clarification because as it flashed by on its being sent I realized it could be read in a rude manner. I'm taking Indiana's advice and am off to bed.
