Sooo glad OKay's dad is okay... and that Harriet got good report from doctor...

Trying to think of other things I wanted to reply to...
Yesterday, I was AWOL b/c dh had computer tied up w/college baseball game. Also, I was sooo exhausted when I got home from school. Worked in concession stand for 2.5 hours. It wasn't so busy that it was stressful, but it WAS busy, and kept me on my feet all afternoon. Also, pretty hot & humid. Yesterday was just a VERY long day, all around. I'm getting TOO OLD for "Fun Day."

Today's PODA:
[ ] get car washed @ cheerleader carwash
[ ] buy bday card for celebration tomorrow -- 90th bday of dfriend @ church
[ ] get in touch w/school administrator & find out how to turn off burglar alarm
[ ] meet ds's classmates @ school for tour of the building after their reunion this afternoon
[ ] get dmil's mail
[ ] engagement party for dfriend's daughter

I'm not real excited about any of those tasks. Really sorta dread the party tonight. We will be mingling with what passes for "society" in our small town, and dh & I are just not quite up to the challenge, LOL.

....sitting down with a cold cup of coffee that I didn't have time to finish this morning. Good thing I like coffee hot or cold.

I find myself frustrated that I stay active doing however the current status of my home is almost embarrassing messy.

Yesterday after LO woke up from nap -
** took LO to get hair cut at local barber
** checked up on DDad and listened to DMom talk (her way of dealing with stressful situation)
** finished mowing the yard, raking and hauling away the last of the grass clippings. (all-in-all worked about 5 hours in yard yesterday)
** prepared/served supper
** played with DDogs
** watered the garden
** harvested onions, asparagus, lettuce, carrots and cleaned them
** made a trip to town (50 mile) for last minute items needed for this morning installation

This morning.....
** go-fer duties = another trip to town for parts
** went through my stash for cables needed and delivered them

Working smarter: I was able to do a p.m. routine last night!

Today I got up at 4ish with a low bs #50; slept on the couch after eating and having coffee and watching the end of a movie to be sure I was ok then slept in to catch up on my lost sleep. I recalculated the carbs in my head for breakfast and had to cut the brownie in half again glad I caught that ahead of time!

H. went to the parade w/ out me ; I also suggested that he take in the car show before it closes b/c it will be over at three can't believe I could remember that bc I was only half away when he left he said I could have the bed.

Today I can do the prep. for the 4:15 showing alone at my pace I have plenty of time!

For now I'm sort of lolly gaging around time to get in gear I suppose and s2s is next up after my egg. Dog wood festival will be my outting while we are gone so they can show the place.

I have roses to move this weekend ~ rain all next week is going to be great weather for that!

This morning I told DH that I just don't know why I haven't returned to normal yet. I don't do well with drugs so I was careful to keep them minimal on the two trips to operating room recently. I know those procedures were somewhat energy sucking, but both are considered MINOR procedures. DH looked at me like I had a screw loose and said "I'm sure that staying up with a active 3 year old has something to do with it. Just give it a little more time". My response was...."Okay, yeah....you have a point there. I guess so. "

I strongly suspect that I need to take my own advice.

Started the fire pit burning to take care of a huge tree stump that DH dug up/cut out. I suspect it will take all day/night to burn. Once it burns down small enough for the fire pit wire cover to fully fit over it, I will feel good about not watching it closely. But until then i will be keeping an attentive eye on it. The wind looks favorable so I wanted to get it started now.

I'm starting to feel better about not being able to keep up with everything. I just remembered that we also had a surprise inspection from State Health Dept yesterday. Usually they schedule a time to do an inspection, however yesterday was a new inspector and she called and gave us 6 minute notice that she would be onsite at MPB to do an inspection. That only gave us time enough to jump in vehicle and drive there ......However she was already sitting and waiting on us. ****Held breathe to see if she would demand something new that other inspectors haven't in the past**** We do our best to met/exceed everything they require and it paid off! We passed with no problems. In fact she only had very positive things to say.

OKay it is amazing all that you do. How did you do it when you wee working payroll outside your home?

OKay, I also think you get a tremendous amount of work accomplished, plus taking care of family and all that cooking you do, and gardening, and mpb, shew! makes me tired just reading.

It's hot in here, I need to check the a/c.

Picked up car now not spewing fluid everywhere...but price went up considerably. Story he told made us shudder. Pump is attached to the timing chain (belt?) cover and both should have been removed at once, but he managed to get just the pump out after retooling all the corroded bolts... with another helper and his specialized tools. I don't know if we'd ever have accomplished that. We'd have it half taken apart in the driveway...

New Thermostat and pump has it running fairly cold now and I was concerned the gauge wasn't working at all, but I guess this is a new normal for the car.

And DH came home unscathed. He worked with one of our subs who knows DH's capabilities. So DH's chore wasn't as hard as it could have been, thank goodness. He's sleeping on the couch right now. I'm still tired from yesterday and might nap a bit too.

Ditto the comments about OKay's energy level and productivity. You beat me by a long shot. Even if we take all of LO's care out of the equation, you still do more than me. Of course you house is messy. Mine was too when my kids were LO's age. In fact, it didn't get tidy on a regular basis until ds moved out.

Dinner is started. The original stew recipe is one of my dmil's that I converted (and simplified) to work in the crock pot. But it was originally done in the electric skillet so I followed the original recipe instead and we are now letting it cook for an hour. Dh is practicing tomorrow's hymns so I'll go join him.

I did a grocery run (to get diet dr. p, plus veggies) and made myself a healthy lunch. Which I ate at 2 p.m. Aside from that, have done nothing this afternoon.

Stash 'n Dash, stalling, naps.....I'm familiar with it all!

I mostly lazed around this morning, then felt guilty. So I:
**gathered up enough to do a lol; that's finished and put away now.
**took care of some hot spots (dining room table and kitchen counters),
**dealt with mail from yesterday and today.
**swept the driveway and watered plants on the porch and inside.

OKay...I'm glad your ddad is all right. LO is so cute with dh's boots. I remember our boys trying to walk in my dh shoes. As a matter of fact, I seem to remember the impression of my walking in my ddad's shoes!

Kathryn...hope you get some relief soon. That is a common problem. My dmom was in shock when my ddad died that she started again after 6 mo - 1yr. Dr. gave her birth control pills for 2 months and that took care of it.

Dee...hope you are enjoying Epcot.

Nancy...enjoy the Dogwood Festival. I love dogwood trees. We had a pink dogwood in our yard up in PA, but it's too hot for them here.

Harmony...I'm glad your car is fixed again. It's no fun being stuck without a car when you have to be on the go. Dh used to change the oil, breaks, water pumps, - minor repairs etc. It's too much for him to do now. I'm crossing our fingers for our 2001 Impala! Oh, btw...you are right, we don't have any taxidermy in our house!!!

Yesterday we went to see dgs6 get his certificate/award for being Student of the Month for his class in school. He's in kindergarten this year. Afterwards we went back to their house, then went to see him at his karate class. He got another stripe and next week will take his test to get a new belt and move up to the next class. Those kids were all so cute and they all try so hard to do well. Ddil asked us to stay for supper; we weren't planning to, but said yes, so we had a nice visit with dfam#1

Smart Things: I have two sets of sheets for both the double beds and twin bed. Also have lots extra bath towels, wash clothes, etc. I probably wouldn't have quite so many except there was three adults and three boys in the house. And now when dfam#3 visits they use up a lot of towels while they are here, so they are handy to have. Like OKay I try to put clothes away as soon as they come from dryer so there's no ironing.

Where did this week go? Between work, errands, putting out fires & fun, the time has sped by. Have kept up with 2 of the 3 Ds (dinner & dishes) but the duds are piling up pretty high around here.

Dh & I both had a late lunch so I have about twenty minutes until dinner. He's grilling, so my contribution to the meal will be easy-peasy . I'm going to use that time to cuop; haven't been here all week.
