Good Morning!

I'm sitting in DSon/DDIL back porch with a cup of coffee. DGD1 is taking her morning nap. The baby video/audio monitor is sitting next to me so I watch her sleep and/or listen for any sounds in her room. DGS5 and LO started playing this morning shortly after the sun came up. DSon is traveling (Netherlands again) and DDIL is running some errands. When DGD1 wakes up we are going on a picnic. IMHO there can never be enough picnics.

Good morning! I am wondering if I have a board meeting for the animal organization tonight. I called one of the other members, but have not heard back. No reminders have been sent out either. I think I will show up and see. Girls Night Out last night was Chinese food then the library. DD10 got 8 books on dinosaurs. I got things prepped for the maids: check written and put on table, sheets out, and note about not letting cat out of sewing room posted. I worked with the foster cat then went to bed on time.

Today is the day that DD's project will be on display at school. I should probably go and see it at lunch time. Shouldn't take too long. Each kid was randomly assigned a state to report on; DD got New Hampshire. I guess I could go take a look then get a sandwich on the way back. I did not bring my lunch today.

I'm home with a migraine, but wanted to stop by and let y'all know that Norma's procedure went fine yesterday. Now it is her DH's turn today. I'll let y'all know something when I hear back from them.

Nancy...I love spring babies...especially goats, lambs, foals and calves. Watching them learn how to walk with their wobbly legs is amazing!!! Back to bed....

Thank you for the update about Norma's procedure, Cowinkie. I remember her frustration with a schedule of two medical things on days side-by-side, and hope it's not too much trouble for them.

Hope you get over your headache soon, Cowinkie. Do you think retiring will change things? It did when my dm retired from teaching.

Technical delay, but I'm back in operation! HRH put in a new power supply and more RAM for me when he came in at lunchtime, and also brought me a new keyboard. He honored my wishes and I have exactly the same keyboard as the one I'm used to, so I can keep typing fast, instead of pretending to appreciate more bells, whistles and learning curves.

He had time while waiting in line at the computer store to read their posted prices for service. He figured out that the installation he did for me today would cost $200 in service charges at their shop. He says they are cheating customers. "Of course, that's my opinion, and THEY could be wrong," he says.

As he worked with everything spread out on a table, I heard him call, "I need HELP!" So I came running. "Get this CAT! You do know what 100 percent of a cat is, don't you?" I suggested "trouble" as I extricated Tobias. "Cats are 100 percent static electricity. Cats and open computers canNOT mix." I hadn't thought of that. Sumo and Orphan Cat never went near while HRH was working on computers, for some reason - I don't think they liked the smells and all the metal paraphernalia. But Tobias is blessed with a powerful curiosity gene... ...

Second night of less-than-quality sleep here. I saw the rain coming this morning and got my vacuum cleaner filter cleaned outside before it came. Dd32's card is off in the mail, trash is to the cans, and back inside I exercised for 15 minutes.

Next up, fold laundry.

Oh, wanted to tell Lynlee her "incestuous" comment about so many large companies being the hidden parent companies of others was funny.

And also to agree with Sunny about unnecessarily "sexy" commercials for ordinary products. No wonder Vic toria's Secret has to get so scandalous in their 15 seconds - lately every hamburger commercial is a breathless, panting shocker. Har dee's (Carl's Jr.) is the worst - what, exactly, do they think they are selling? Nothing to me. If it makes her feel like that, I'm certainly not eating it in front of anybody.

I swept the drive way. I have the veggies in the crock-pot now. I did not really want to cook so just got the crock pot out. We have made muffins, made the bed, I swept, it's cool out today so we are getting some inside things done today.

Cowinkie, thanks for the report on Norma. I'm glad it went ok.

Not many wonders around here today. Just the same old kinda day.

Up early to go pick up DH at jobsite. Went to fill up gas tank first, other direction. Then we had to drive out to truss plant, because they did not get his stuff built. Said they had trouble with a saw last evening. Whole plant, only has one saw? Anyway we had to go all the way out there so DH could take a measurement. Back out to jobsite with a another stop along the way.

So, that was practically all morning. Did some paperwork, had lunch. Cleaned up kitchen, dailies done, got chicken washed and ready to roast.

Gal I do the ministry with has put me off for a couple weeks. I expected her yesterday or today at the latest. Never got a call or email either day. I can tell she is overloaded. She is one of those "I'll do it" types and I think she's overextended. Pondering how to talk with her about this and offer to just take care of it myself this month without seeming critical.

Have to make a phone call, then I might have a few minutes to sew.

Good Morning all.

I've been a busy little beaver this morning. Sent DH off to his chiro appt. by himself while I did the dishes and cleaned up the kitchen. Then thru a load of laundry in the washer. After that I used fine steel wool on dresser and drawers and tacked off the dust. Third coat of varnish is now drying. While I was varnishing - I was also soaking the knobs and drawer pulls in hot water, then scrubbed with old toothbrush and rinsed. After they were dry - I polished some with steel wool and then the buffing wheel on the Dremel tool. They are a dull shine but look good. Can't wait to put them together with the drawers and get it in the bedroom.

Other than that - life is still pretty boring here. We start 5-7 days over 100 on Friday so I want to get as much done outside as I can now. Then we will hibernate inside with the AC except for the early mornings.

Off to switch the twins.

Piano tuner came at lunch instead of tomorrow morning, so that's something off my to-do list for tomorrow!

Plus I worked out this morning, did my devotions and ate breakfast. I've been at my computer but not that productive. Just sent off an email I've been putting off writing. (Didn't want to disturb the person until after I knew he wasn't swamped.)

My music friend called to say that she's told the church she won't be playing again until they hear from her. She hasn't been well enough to play for the past 3 weeks and has decided that it is better for everyone if she says she won't play rather than leave people guessing. She isn't resigning though, so they will have to continue to make do with music CDs. Which the congregation hates (but they won't pay our musician to work for them too.)

I had a meeting today but turns out I wasn't needed for it so have the whole day at home. It is sunny now so dh and I might head off on our walk soon.

I had a real issues with the shoe lace on my summer runners coming undone. It took a day to realize it was longer on the right shoe than the left so I was either stepping on the tail or the loop and pulling the shoe lace undone, or tripping over it. I showed dh how it was longer and he said it was an optical illusion because I tie my right shoe tighter than the left (right foot is smaller.) Today I took both laces out of the shoes, and sure enough, the right shoe lace was 4" longer than the left. So I chopped it off and we'll see if that fixes the problem. I'm wearing sandals now, so can't say if it worked, but I'm assuming it will now.
