Picked up a large pile of mail. On the way to the PO, dd2 called and dgd15 needs lunch money. Normally dd2 puts $ on a lunch account, but since today is the last regular day of school I just took $ to the school. Have I ever told you gals that both of my dds attended this large high school and I never once had to go to the office for anything? I didn't even know where it was. Dgs18 has been in school there for 3 years and I never had to go there for him. The 2 dgd15 have been in there 1 school year and I have made countless trips there for multiple reasons. Sure a difference in kids!

Good morning! I made it to the 745 teacher conference. DD10 has anger and frustration issues as well as dyslexia. XDH believes all but the dyslexia is my fault. We had words over that and other things. Last night I did a really good cleanup of DD's room. Tonight I will try a clean up of the laundry room. I paid bills and updated Quicken, but did not get a chance to balance the checkbook. I worked with the foster cat, who did not hiss at me this time. Today I have made a dreaded phone call and called in a refill of DCat18's meds. I need to check in at the cruise line. The swamp cooler repair people are coming at 100. I am dreadfully tired. Tonight is Girls' Night Out.

I've cuop the past sev. days I've been missing here. Life just gets too busy sometimes. Today I'm thrilled that it's Tuesday and not Monday. Yesterday was too much.

Kathryn, reading about your DH's illness had me thinking, remembering. I used to be susceptible to that over and over. Lynlee's suggestion of bicarb of soda stood my hair on end, anytime I did that I'd get a full-blown infection almost immediately. My problems were related I guess to my ph being off. Chiropractor told me to do vitamin C to up the acid and that worked like a charm. Sometimes I'd have symptoms but dr. would test and say no bacteria. Anyway, I hope he is feeling better by now.

Sunday I needed a long nap in the afternoon. Monday I was super busy running around, errands, submitting papers, taking DH to get signature notarized, just stuff that took a long time, and in the evening I couldn't keep my eyes open. I think I messed up my doses of meds and they put me to sleep. Yes, I do have a system. I think I didn't use it correctly.

Today I got my desk straightened, went to bank, paid bills, ran out for tool parts for DH, fielded several phone calls. I have a funeral luncheon to help with this Sunday and another for my DFriend the following Saturday. I've offered to bring fruit platters for both and help set up, etc. for both. Plus Sun. after the Sat. service is communion and gal in charge will not be here, so there will be extra work / responsibility. We haven't been so busy recently, we are catching up with that all at once, it seems.

Lynlee I'm glad you didn't have a fire in your kitchen.
Alright, I need to send an email, then get back to some work around here.

DeeClutter: A swamp cooler (aka evaporative cooler) is a type of cooler that only works in low humidity areas. Air is blown over water saturated pads to cool it, then the air is ducted into the building. It is a substitute for air conditioning. I had never heard of it either until I moved out to the desert.

DH and I had a good time at the movie yesterday -- The Avengers. It brings together a group of superheroes to fight an evil villain trying to make humans worship him. I did not read comic books as a kid, and have not seen all of the "prequel" movies for this one, although I have seen Iron Man & The Hulk. Still, I didn't have any problem figuring who the other characters were. The special effects were enjoyable and the director threw in some really funny bits to break up the action. Much too loud, but otherwise very entertaining.

I've been working on the computer all day so far. All for the sewing group -- correspondence, reports, gathering info for the newsletter. I need to give my eyes a break.

I'm going to watch a little something on TV and then take a nap. I'll do some more newsletter stuff this afternoon before going up to my sister's jewelry party tonight.

(Lia Sophia, anyone heard of that company? Looks expensive, hope I can find something in my price range.)

Hair cut is done, dh is in the chair now and I'm hooked up to the library's internet 2 buildings away but signal is strong enough to post.

After this is a Costco run.

We are getting Dee's rain.

Dh has a doctor appointment for tomorrow morning and I might take advantage of that and do my fasting blood test since I'll have him for moral support. It has been 7 weeks since I got the requisition for the blood tests as part of my annual physical. Dh is feeling much better so the water/cran/vitC seem to be working, just slowly. He's not one to drink water so this is hard for him. He didn't go for the test that the clinic had ordered since our doctor said to wait.

Stopped raining, but now it's thundering again. Stay dry, Kathryn. DH is now on his 3rd shirt of the day.

I've managed to clean out/organize 6 drawers, and the bottom shelf in our bathroom closet. Someday I'll look at my list and realize I've done it all. (by then it'll be time to start over).

Raining and thunder again today. Just gave dMacs 1/2 of an acepromazine to calm him.

Have been out and about - dropped off mail at post office and dkids at restaurant for lunch w rabbi. I spent an hour or so browsing in a kind of antique mall type place, except a lot of what's there is the re-purposed or refinished stuff. Some mid century modern and lots of interesting pieces. I loved the metal glider and chair out front - repainted and shiny - just like the one on our front porch when I was growing up but very expensive now!

After picking up dd and ds I dropped him at library for Z to pick him up later, and dd and went to walk through the house. One of our bathroom doors I think will need to be turned around as it's not where I want it. DD & I went to a "salvage" type place and bought a small rug (maybe for her bathroom vanity area or our laundry room) and a couple of framed prints that we liked. Then we picked up her car and I'm finally home.

I have a headache - perhaps a little dehydrated as I was craving water and stopped to buy a bottle on the way home.

Home. I got a bit wet but didn't melt. Mustn't be the witch I think I am!

Good Cost co run. Ended up with one bargain on something I had been thinking of buying but didn't need (new ear-buds, just need an extra pair for the kitchen so I can tune out dh when he's on a conference call), lighters for the candles (dh hates matches so we compromise, I use a match for my daily candle but a lighter for dining room and elsewhere in the house), and a bike helmet for dh ("I wouldn't have remembered I needed a new one if I hadn't have seen the display".) Found the stress vitamin mix which has been missing for ages. Apparently the pharmacy is separate from the store and the store stopped carrying them, so the pharmacy started. I swear, since there is no reason to put them 'behind the counter' in a pharmacy, it never occurred to me to look there. That's where my eye drops and dh's medicated shampoo have disappeared to as well (I found my eye drops when I was queued up for dh's needles one time.)

We are now home and munching on junk food. Bad day, diet wise. At least I've got all my water in for the day.
