Are you going to Oahu, Helia? If so, a hike up Diamond Head is certainly worth it -just be sure to take water. We went a number of years ago and a guy hiked up the mountain (college kid) twice a day with a cooler of c o k e s at $5 a can. I'm sure it's even more now, but it was worth any price that day. My Dad was stationed within Diamond Head during WWII so it was very interesting seeing where he'd been. The 1 thing I was very glad I took (on our 2nd trip) was a pair of binoculars. Also extremely useful.

Need to research if there is anything new on the mammogram front. I know a few years ago our pastor told me that they were doing some where you laid flat, face down. That would be so much easier for me since it is very difficult to raise my left arm enough for the machine. Know Dr. wants me to get one this year along with a bone density test. I tend to put it off because it is very difficult for me (and painful -at least on the left). You'd think since we have one of the leading medical university/hospitals that newer technology would be available.

Know you're looking forward to that weekend visit, Harriet. Has there been anything lately about them and your ddad's house?

My only progress for today is to say that I booked our hotels that will bookend our trip to Nova Scotia. I wanted a predetermined stopping point on the drive down and after the beach stay we are in Halifax over the holiday weekend. Still got 3 rooms for 2 nights at under $100 each so I guess I did well. Don't know how long dh and I will stay on in NS so decided not to book beyond July 2. The kids will be heading back by then so we'll be free to go wherever there is a space, not traveling with a whole group of people.

Next challenge - get into the garden.

Same thing happens at my house, Twins. The kitchen never stays clean in the summers.

That is amazing trivia, Harriet. I had not realized that!

Thanks for the tips, Dee. I think the conference is on Oahu so we will start there. Yes, we will like hike the volcano - Diamond Head? We were in Hawaii years ago, with children ages 5, 3, and 1. Funny thing, we had the only tots on the airplane at the time. LOL! And their favorite part of the trip, as verbalized by dd16 and ds when we returned home, was swimming in the hotel swimming pool. . . It was fun, but this will be fun in a different way. :)

The weather here is b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l! I'm finding it hard to stay focused and productive. I did get my errands done. Dd16 just got home.

Good news here! Ds does have an internship this summer with the software company he worked for last summer. That will keep him busy, and he should be able to earn some money.

I need to finish reclaiming the kitchen.

Lunch is done. Document needs to be modified.

DeeClutter: Try Zenni Optical online. They have really good prices on glasses.

Thanks, Elizabeth. Will surely keep that in mind (or written down somewhere). Need to get my exam first and see what he says about cataract surgery. I'm pretty sure it's in the offing. Trying to get dh through his tests and check ups first. He has to have a colonoscopy & endoscopy again this summer. He had them done after DD passed away in '09 and was supposed to have them done in 2 years. How did almost 3 years fly by? It took him a long time then to get over tummy troubles -probably a lot was suppressed grief.

Just took a short walk. Now I can "X" that on my "don't break the chain" chart. (well that's ONE in a ROW!). But other things such as "declutter for 20 minutes (usually turns into 30) I have a good chain going. I have charts for about 4 different things in my life right now. If I can get the chain going in all of them I know it'll show on my scales, how my clothes fit and how I feel.

Elizabeth, I always wondered if I could get my glasses online, and how would they fit them? I have progressive lenses and they have to be just right or my head aches trying to get the sight just right with my brain. By the way, Dee, congrats for passing your eye test. Have you found your passports yet?

Oh, I'm envious of helia going to Hawaii. Except for that very long plane ride.

I probably wouldn't be here except I needed computer to print off some forms. One of our nearby communities are paranoid about anyone getting a speck of dirt or cement in the roadway or in their precious drainage swale. I think the guy in charge of this department is disagreeable and works hard to justify his job....so more forms needed for one upcoming jobs.

Lots of paperwork today, not much else done yet.

Nancy, I loved the video. I wish I could have a chicken or two here. There is something eating my bean plants. Can't understand how I'm getting beans on plants where most of the leaves are eaten or holey.

Missing OKay today, also Indiana.

It's MT missing passports, Harmony. That's one thing I do happen to know -where they are. DH was here looking for excess materials he had from our metal awning last year. No idea where he put them. I'm kinda thinking in the storage truck. I guess we're at a point in life that we need to WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN. I need a 'control' notebook for all that stuff. All these years and you'd think I'd have one. We've been looking for DVD's we bought on our trip to Branson in '10 and have no idea whom we may have lent them to. I have a feeling it could be his DB in FL. DD thought she might have them, but so far hasn't found them.

I was a tad worried about passing that eye exam, Harmony. Not that I can't see, but I do know my vision is different in each eye and that I would now need my glasses in order to pass the test. Didn't 8 years ago. It really was a 'piece of cake'.

Now I've been looking online for different mammogram technology. Doesn't look like anything else will fit except a routine mammogram. Think I will discuss it again with my Dr. before I make an appointment.

Still trying to get in touch with my dsis. Haven't heard anything from her since her original email telling us about dniece. We don't even have an address. May ask dd to look on FB to see if other dniece has anything on there and ask her for an address.

I need to unstick my tushy and get moving again. All the errands were run - went by the house where most of window casings are in and most of the the trim work done. Also did the other errands.

Got lost this afternoon in a home-building forum. I want to watch AI again this evening at 8 so I need to unstick my tushy. (did I say that already?)

-empty the dishwasher
-clear kitchen counters again
-finish putting away groceries & paper products
-reboot laundry?
-clear kitchen table

It's Wednesday so I will eat at church. I've run out of work again, so I've run out of pay.

Harmony: I have progressive lenses also and the ones from Zenni worked for me. I don't know if they will work for everyone, but at the prices they have it is worth trying.

Small progress. I worked in the garden for at least 90 minutes. Got the plants I bought on the 12th planted. Also weeded all the gardens again (some well, some not so much.) Brought in the shovel from the front porch (hope I won't be needing that!) and the last electrical cord from the Christmas lights.

Still have more garden things to put out but I have a daily reminder to weed and I'm hoping that 10 - 15 minutes a day will be enough to get things in shape.

Was physically wiped from that so we went to the market town for dinner at Subway and then picked up some groceries and went to Wal mart for clip sunglasses for me. The technology has come a long way and the pair I bought look almost as good as the custom ones that came with my frames (I lost them in Atlanta) but half the cost. Since I'm not sure I'm keeping these frames, I thought I'd not spend any more money on them. My eyes should be due for a checkup soon. I'm having trouble with haloing at night when driving. I'm find in the country but in the city, I get quite stressed because of the brightness/blurriness of the streetlights and traffic lights.

Ds has a friend over now for a visit and I'm going to be productive.
