Re: Never on a Sunday
We are thru Albuquerque. It went slick as anything. We stayed in our regular lane as it moved from outside right to 2nd in from left. Not even one car on the on ramps at I-25.
I called 911 as there was a guy on the road on the east side tearing the reflectors off the guard wall and throwing them in traffic. SCARY!!!
We are just going up the last hill and then we will be in the high plains all the way to Tucumcari. (I love that name, too, Indiana - I also love Albuquerque. They trip off the tongue)

Re: Never on a Sunday
I'm home from church. It was Sunday School closing and a joint service at the second church so wasn't until 10. Even so, I had to scramble to make it on time.
I wore a summer dress and was happy to get home and change into jeans, undershirt, turtleneck and vest. It is damp and chilly today.
I'm going out for lunch at Subway and then groceries. I'll buy myself something to have for dinner as well. Everything I have in the freezer is really in 2 person servings.

Re: Never on a Sunday
((((Indiana & jake)))) That was scary close!
(((Dee DGS7))))) i hope his fingers heal without any problems.
Church this morning was good with a little adventure thrown in with a fresh reminder of endless 3 year olds antics.
LO told his teacher that his foot hurt so he was leaving the class. The regular teacher would have recognized LO escape attempt and redirected him however today LO had a laid back cowboy teaching the class and the teacher allowed LO to take off by himself.
Normally I sit where I can see LO class, but today i sat with family at the other end of the arena. I am thankful for LO many mentors who immediately knew what was going on and helped LO go where he should. Lesson to self with renewed effort to always keep LO in my sight.
Never on Sunday ....hum ....I try to never say never.
So I can't say I never do it, but I do try to not follow regular schedule on Sundays and just focus on having a day of worship and renewal.
Nancy - what kind of new phone do you have? Not sure how much you want to spend on SD cards, but they can be had for a fairly good price. I recently bought DGS15 a micro SD card for his phone for about $4 at WM. I also recently bought a bigger/faster MicroSd card for DH at Sam's for about $12.

Re: Never on a Sunday
I love hearing all of LO's adventures!
Back from lunch. Ran into someone I haven't seen for 2 years at the Subway and chatted for a long time. I used to see him almost weekly when the pizza place in my back yard was still operating. He ate there every night.
I'm ready for a nap. Heavy rain just came through here so the sound of the ticking clocks and the rain on the roof are lulling me to sleep.

Re: Never on a Sunday
Rained here too, earlier, Kathryn, then on the way home for church and now it's getting ready for another round. Moving from here to there I'd say. DH is working today so didn't go to DGS7's go-kart races. DGS's fingers should be fine, OKay. He was 'proudly' showing off them being taped together.
Yep, it's raining again.
I was just going to leave to go do what I said I didn't like to do on Sunday. But do need to get gas before dh takes the car too far tomorrow. Well, if this rain lasts, it may be tomorrow before I go anyway. Love hearing the rain on the roof.
Fixed 'breakfast' for lunch. We'd thought about going out after church, but I decided I could easily make what I would have ordered 'out' at home.
Read and snoozed a little bit. For some reason, as soon as I start reading those eyelids fall down.

Re: Never on a Sunday
drifting from here to there......this to that..... while waiting for LO to wake up from his nap. I really should do something but am trying to "relax"
Went outside to relax in the gardens. Harvested another dozen or so onions, blasted them with hose to get 90% of the dirt off and then laid them on a flat screen to dry.
Came indoors to refill my water glass with ice.
back outside and set the lawn furniture upright (strong storm came through last night)
Came indoors to get nail polish
back outside to apply polish to toes.....discovered the polish dries too quickly when done outdoors. It was difficult to apply because it kept trying to dry on the brush
back inside to get an afternoon cup of coffee.
Here I sit. Trying not to do anything is making me want to get going!

Re: Never on a Sunday
Never on a Sunday? No outdoor/yardwork motor noises. My paternal grandfather worried about this quite a bit. He was mortified if any of his children started a tractor on a Sunday, for instance, because it might be leading others astray to let the sound drift to nearby farms or to passersby. I still feel this way about lawn mowers, chainsaws, weedeaters, etc.
BookSaver, a nice thing to do for yourself after something like that happens is to go online and figure out the route you took. That way, you have a clear wrap-up of the entire experience and some knowledge for the next time you drive anywhere near the area.
Well, our darlings are back on the road again. We're a little sad. Hugging dd goodbye was tough this time as we are both under a lot of weight and each knows it about the other, but we must go back to the status quo. Stiff upper lip.
Turned out my ddad had had too much excitement yesterday and never actually napped, stayed up too late against my insistence watching baseball to the game's end. He had a very bad night and I was up from 3 to 4:30 with him. HRH also spent the rest of the night on the couch in case things hadn't fully settled down, so I think his sleep tally would be less.
Dd13 was also up at least the whole time I was, so this morning she was truly zonked. I just called the church and sent the message to her SS teacher that she wouldn't make it today, and let her sleep.
The week ahead is full. I have several DPCs tomorrow. HRH has a big day, too. Dd13 is suddenly relieved of pressure at school to the point that some of the teachers have said they have no lesson plans, and Tuesday is even "field day", which I have never liked sending her to since she so easily sunburns. Still, there is a whole week of school she is supposed to attend, and I believe Friday is the graduation.

Re: Never on a Sunday
((((Harriet)))) good-byes are so hard, especially when things are going on. Think very often of your day to day struggles with life with your ddad. (And pray for you as I think.)
Waiting for daunt to call me back so don't want to go for gas, etc until she does. It's raining (hard) anyway.
Have dinner to take to dneighbors across from us (she had knee replacement on Tuesday). Think I'll have dh ask the hubby when they would like it. He loves spaghetti so I made it earlier this week and ended up freezing for him. Every time I thought I'd go over they've had company or physical therapists.
Should get up and DO something!!!! Too easy to get in a rut.
