Did just realize one piece of GOOD news - D irect A ir has refunded the $338 to our Am Ex press account! Not too bad - only took about 2 1/2 months. (They went belly up about 3 days before dh was supposed travel home on their airline in March).

Since I started messing with the computer it has completely gone gray outside. Hope dh returns soon to continue dipping tanks. He's not "supposed" to work Wed, thurs or Fri. (Obviously it wasn't him whom I heard earlier).
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

I've been calling about the rebate coupon we did not receive from spring and they are not answering the phone in the local store they are swamped w/ people wanting the new phones I guess. Phones are okay, we get better service than some of the other companies with ours so that's why we had them for so long.

We had rain last night and it's cooler today. 45*-55* today's temp. range.
Dgd & I planted the seeds yesterday just in time before the rains came!
Saw some of the Diamond Jubaliee sp? celebrations yesterday the fireworks were on while dgd was napping in my lap that was good. Today in a couple hours here is the last of it they had news clips of highlights in the evening I'm sure there will be more as they edit each day and u-tube may have some up at some point of that. @ 9:00 tonight our time is a special about the celebration of the queen's 60 years on ABC.

Dgd loves to see the videos I took of her on my phone new entertainment. Can't upload em but I'm just happy I've figured out that feature the owners manual is not as good as other earlier phones we've had.

BS good streak is over today it was up hormones ack!
I have to get going training for a job of sorts folks on my walking route need me to walk & feed their dog while they are gone I'm not doing it for free how ever that's why I'm calling it a job.
Sigh. H. had a better day yesterday on his job so that was good.

I too caught a bit of news about the house fairy the other day.

Coming back through. When I refilled the meds, I also went through the kitchen cabinet w meds/vitamins/supplements and disposed of any that have expired.

It's looking like I need to show up at my real job this week. Like that's the last thing I want to do this week. And this is a client who is a PITA. Delays getting info to us, ignores our explanation of what we need, then wants returns, etc immediately. Hurry up and wait. Always emailing us for something else that he should have but won't look for (copy of last year's W-2, tax return for last year, this that and the other thing...)

Harmony, the cabinets are all a dark cherry and they look great.

I second Helia's thoughts:
I very strongly believe in living in community. It can be hard at times, esp. for an introvert.
Be at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let every new year find you a better [wo]man. Ben Franklin

I need the strength to keep from finding some sand to hide my head in. Already this morning I have dealt with 3 family situations that I have no control over and no answers to them.

Dd1 and I walked and talked. Dgd15 is at church camp and telling her friends that she has been kicked out of the house but can take her car and a credit card. When hell freezes over, that will happen! The friend who wasn't at their house and was suppose to be, texted dd1 to ask her about this. Dd1 says it is pretty bad when this friend is acting more normal than dgd15. Dd1 is beside herself.

Then I talked to dm and she was telling me that my uncle is getting worse. This is her youngest sisters dh. This sister and I are 6 years apart in age. There are 3 girls and 1 boy in dms family. The middle sister lost her dh 7 weeks after dstepdad passed away. They lost their dad less than 5 months later. This is just tearing dm to pieces. She was sobbing when we hung up. As time goes by her grieving has escalated. It is hard to do anything for her at this distance, but listen and that is getting harder to do.

Then dgd15 daughter of dd2 is acting up. She has drivers ed first thing in the morning, then cheerleading practice and then she was suppose to go to semester school. She had really good grades except for the F in Algebra. If she went to this class she could get it up to a D. This school started yesterday. Today she refused to go. Dd2 is beside herself over this. She was trying to get her ex on the phone and he wasn't answering. The last time she called, at some point she hung up and I haven't heard from her since. She is ready to send dgd15 to live with her dad and stepmom, if something doesn't change.

I just feel helpless. There is nothing I can do but listen and pray!

Guess I better get off of here and get a shower.................

Good morning to all! I am up, but not at 'em... have been waiting for duncle to call -- I was supposed to meet him & daunt @ nursing home this morning & give back his foot-thing, which he loaned to ds. [It's this kind of sock thing for -- I believe -- plantar fiscitis (sp???) DS never used it, anyway, but I have it here @ my house and have been intending to return it for a couple of months!]
ANYWAY -- duncle has not called, which makes me think he will likely wait until tomorrow morning.
Duncle lives about 15 miles away, but it's out-of-the-way, if you know what I mean. We never just go by his house on our way to anywhere.

Oh well... my day has plenty to occupy me, even if I do not see duncle, LOL!
[/] exercise
* going out to do some yard work w/dh, and he says if there is time afterwards, he wants to walk, also.
Well... he was too exhausted to walk. I probably could have walked, but I need to go ahead and s2s. My "yard work" consisted of following dh around w/the wheelbarrow & criticizing.

[ ] s2s
[x] take form to doctor's office for dmil to get handicapped tag
[ ] call dcousin re: shower
Actually, I called, but no one was home.
* OH -- dmil didn't care at all WHAT I got ds/ddil for the shower -- she said the swing would be just FINE -- she understood completely when I explained why they didn't think they needed a monitor! * whew *
[x] call appliance store re: trash compactor bags
[x] laundry

[x] post office
[x] met duncle and returned the sock-thing after all
[x] stopped by t-shirt place but dgbaby's t-shirt isn't ready yet

[ ] probably about a billion other things that need doing but I probably won't get done

Very nice quote from the queen to start us off, Harriet! I have always admired the queen. I guess it's b/c she always seems sooo poised and in-control. Qualities I often feel I am lacking...
I bet the queen never ONCE worried about what HER mother-in-law might say! ;)

I have trouble w/that "living in community" detail, too. I just hope the community understands, and supports ddil @ the shower -- in spite of the fact that we are ALL introverts in this family. * sigh *

Nancy, I'm STILL debating in my head whether or not to splurge for an iPhone. * sigh * I'm still wondering if I could ever figure out how to use it... and whether or not the luxury of it justifies the cost... more things the queen probably has NEVER had to consider, LOL!

helia -- well, you know what I'm going to say before I say it -- but I would DEFINITELY keep ds's award paper. I know... I'm a pack rat anyway... but I do have all of ds's report cards and awards and EVERYTHING in memory books. Maybe dgs will enjoy looking at those some day. I couldn't bear to throw away those things. And big congratulations to ds, also!

House fairy... LOL! I saw that on the news, too! Kinda creepy... but if she'd do a good job, it might be nice for her to visit. LOL...

Ooohhh... hope you do stay COOL, MT!

So exciting to watch new house take shape, Twins!

OKay, you are sooo inspiring -- teaching LO the Ten Commandments and everything. I hope I remember to take time to do things like that when our little one gets here!

(((Lilac))) This is just sooo much for you to bear, all at once. (((BIG, BIG HUGS))) and lots of prayers for you and your family.

Saying a prayer for Norma, too!

Oh -- ddil seems very sure that dbaby will arrive within the next 2-3 weeks. I told dh, that may just be wishful thinking. However, she also seems very sure that it will be FINE for us to carry on with our plans to be out of town 3 days, even if baby has arrived by then. She said, "We will not need you to do anything... (ds) will be home all the time you're gone... everything will be fine. We're not going to need a lot of people over at the house all the time, anyway."
I just hope ds doesn't feel that we are abandoning them in their hour of need, you know?
But I guess we'll have more of a feel for this after dbaby actually arrives and we see that everything IS fine... and of course, that is my BIG prayer right now... for a safe delivery & a healthy baby.
(((Dee))) I know you're getting anxious, too! It won't be long now for either of us!

Good morning! I had such good intentions yesterday. I did get the card for the camera and worked with the foster cat. However, I did not order meds, do paperwork, or update Quicken. DD10 is feeling better, she is at her summer daycamp today. Yesterday, she went to bed at 5:30 and did not get up until morning! I did get to bed at a reasonable time, but am still somewhat tired. Tonight, in addition to the stuff I did not get done yesterday, I need to exercise, my knee is bothering me. I probably will get very little done tonight, since it is Girls Night Out with DD. Probably we will have Girls Night In and watch movies since she will likely be fatigued.

helia, keep the paper. He worked carefully over a long period and met the expectations of others and his own expectations and now it is condensed into a few words. Hang on to it.

I think the woman in that report Harmony made here last evening probably wanted to snoop, and used the ruse of "helping" her neighbors in order to sift through their homes for gossip fodder. She knowingly violated their privacy and well-being, while implying that their houses needed cleaning she could do better. Along the way, she showed herself to be the one who is in need of more cleanliness of heart. I do think it's strange that she used (or someone used?) the phrase "House Fairy"? Was that in the reporting or did she call herself that? Maybe it was a coincidence, but I don't like P and P's idea being used for eeeevil!!! :x

Those are wise thoughts, helia. I like to think of our influence touching those around us, like a water droplet falling into a pond. I will never be as active in community/neighborhood/church as I once was, because I've learned about myself that it becomes unhealthy for me, but I'm happy to be a part, to be known, counted upon for constancy. I think of myself as a part of the tenor of the community, influencing it a little because of my general choices, and I hope it's always positive.

Harriet I like the quote. It says so much in just a few words.

That is what I thought Harriet when I read Harmony's post on the House Fairy last night.

I can't recreate my previous post so as I think of things I'll come back.

Have talked to dd2. She was hoping for backup help from her ex and he hasn't called. She says she said everything she could think of to persuade dgd15 to go to that class. So dgd15 is now grounded and doesn't have her phone. If she changes her mind, it is too late. After today they aren't accepting anymore students.

Dm called and is doing better. But I know that just means for now!
