Good morning ya'll...

Uhooo, I miss riding horses Okay. I love being around them. I'm a sucker for their big soft noses and fuzzy ears. I love it when they stand behind you, snuggle in and hang their heads over your shoulder. I love to feel the power of their bodies once you saddle up. And nothin' will make the hairs on my arms and neck stand up like heaing them thundering through a pasture, especially when they are coming my way. I love to go to horse racing tracks, not to bet, but to stand by the 4th turn railing and watch them go flying by for the finish.

Another sunny hot day in the desert. It was a snap at the social security office yesterday. I really expect a waiting period of some length, but Sweetie and I walked in, sat down at a window, did my business and were gone in 15 minutes...amazing. Afterwards, we found the store I wanted to see...I was unimpressed...and then I took Sweetie out for a delicious hamburger. We were in North Phoenix and not an area that I was familiar with. Sweetie lived there long ago so we spent part of the afternoon driving around and taking in the sights. Great way to spend the day.

I have a dr's appointment this morning and then am meeting a friend for lunch. I told her she should pick out a place that has very comfortable seating because I think we're gonna be there for a long, long time. ;)

Going to work on my cards and box over the weekend. The dust bunnies are beginning to show up, so that means I need to put some structure back into my life...if I don't start now, I'm afraid I'm gonna start developing a lazy attitude. Easy for me to do cause I keep feeling like I'm on summer vacation...well I am, but this ones gonna last a very long time ;)

After seeing these mountains yesterday I put them on my hiking "next" list. But, I'll have to wait until Oct or Nov to do it. Way too hot for me now :D

Outside is sunny and calm and so is inside.

The housekeeper is here cleaning. I have changed changing my bed to Friday's so if my arm gives out I can have her finish. It takes me a long time to do it but it frees her to do other things.

Doctor's appointment was good yesterday. It was with my GP. He was shocked at the way I looked. He expected me to look like death warmed over because of the reports he had read. Instead he said I looked wonderful and he could tell by looking at me I had dropped 20 pounds and he likes my new hair cut.

He is remodeling his office and wants to give me a tour the next time I come in. He is putting in an x-ray room. He had one years ago and took it out. Now he will add it back.

Weather forecast in my house today: whirlwinds!

At least, that is my hope! DH is playing golf, so I have sprayed down his shower w/cleaner, and when I leave the computer, I will start scrubbing away. I'm going to try to do focus cleaning in the bathroom today, swapping master bath week w/master bedroom week, b/c I like to do his shower when I know he won't be home for a while. If he's here, I feel rushed to get finished in there before he needs it.

I also plan to iron his jeans, while watching a movie, b/c since I'm home for the summer, I'd like to save a little $$ on the ironing lady. When I retire, I don't plan to continue paying her all the time. However, depending on vacation trips & baby arrival, I will continue to use her as I need to during the summer.

I must admit, I am getting better at telling myself * and dh * -- "Just wait and see."
DH fretting about vacation... just wait and see...
DH fretting about Sunday/Father's Day... just wait and see...
DH fretting about misc other stuff -- I may put this in Members Only -- just wait and see...

The cattle checks sound like fun, OKay. I bet LO enjoys watching all that activity!

Dee... (((HUGS))) That is all I can say. That drug company is just something else...

Twins, is the river festival a weekly thing, or is it just this weekend? Have a GREAT time! You deserve it!

MT, you always inspire me, the way you can find fun in everything. (Indiana does that too!) I can see how it would be interesting to watch the Amish and Mennonites. Sometimes I think they have it right... it might be nice to just ease away from modern life. But I could NEVER do that!!! Ooohhh... I'm waaay too much of a wimp when it comes to the modern conveniences!!!

Sounds like a beautiful day @ Harriet's household...

And I am glad the storm has passed @ Lilac's! * Sending good wishes for NO HAIL DAMAGE! *

Sounds like a whirlwind @ Kathryn's, too! Thanks for getting us started right!

Waving to elly, cowinkie, and Indiana!!! * So glad you got good doctor's report, Indiana!!!
Tomorrow is another day.

Lucylee, the festival is the one that goes for 10 day here every summer. Will be fun, I hope - the river cruise is on a boat chartered by a doc friend of dh's - probably be lots of food and drink - and then we'll see the main act this evening from the VIP section with his group. Will be a late night for sure as main act isn't over until around 11, then we have to walk back to car and get home through the traffic. Tomorrow night is the big fireworks night.

I told ds this morning that I'd make us a reservation to take dh out for brunch on Sunday, and I just realized that we have to go to a memorial service at 12:30 and it's followed by a meal of consolation. This particular restaurant is only open for brunch on Sunday, so I don't know whether to try to take dh out for dinner (two big meals in one day?) We could possibly skip the meal of consolation but I don't know whether we should.

Well, I scrubbed for 30 minutes, and now I am resting for 30 minutes... and it is almost time to go back in there.
And actually, the shower looks amazingly improved. There is just this one patch on the side-wall that just won't budge.
I don't know WHAT dh uses that causes this film... and he dries the shower after every use, religiously.
However, 30 minutes soaking w/CRL cleaner, 30 minutes scrubbing w/SOS pad, and there is STILL a soap/something kind of film on the shower stall.
AAAUUUGGGHH!!!!

And why isn't dh doing this, you ask???

Because dh doesn't even CARE. Grrrrr....   He could be showering in a science experiment. As long as he has done his towel-drying of all surfaces after his shower, he figures he has done all he can and he will live with it. He told me this morning, "I'm not asking you to clean that shower, but if that's what you want to do with your day, go ahead."
Tomorrow is another day.

I looked at today's date and realized that I graduated HS 44 years ago today. Now if only my body still looked like it did back then. Another appreciation wasted on the young :D

LOL, Cowinkie! Definitely know what you mean, there.

Well. The shower is not PERFECT but it sure is better, and I am THROUGH. Oh. My. Goodness. Approx. 2 hours on that chore, 1/2 of which was just letting it all soak, but two 30-minute sessions of hard scrubbing is just about my limit.
Maybe if I can force myself to go over it once a week w/a Mr. Clean scrubbing pad, it won't get this bad. I promise myself EVERY TIME I do this, NEVER AGAIN will I let it build up like this... but then... you know... life happens.
* sheesh *

I'm going to take my walk now, work my legs instead of my arms, and after I s2s, I may not do another darn thing all day.
Tomorrow is another day.

Enjoyed reading. Some of you are seeing amazing interesting things. MT, are there buggies traveling in the area too? Cowinkie, when you go hiking in those mountains I want to know if you find that "lady".

How's the weather in here, I guess plain, usual, calm. No whirlwind here for sure. I've been sewing while the house is quiet. Maybe my evening routine wouldn't be so long if I did more stuff during the day.

I like sewing during the day if I can though because in the natural sunlight it is much easier to see. I can do routines by artificial light. I should go pick up my Rx (sorry, Dee, you're having more problems. Wondering if you ever got your part of that straightened out after they told you you no longer have drug insurance?) And I forgot to pick up stuff for a food basket we're making someone. I need to take my stuff in on Sunday. So either today or tomorrow. Probably this afternoon. I hate to shop with DH, he always makes the trip longer and loses me in WM.

Indiana, very glad your dr. report was good. I agree, it's a nice haircut.

I have about 45 minutes before I need to head out to pick up ds - I have got to get him driving himself to work! I was thinking about leaving early to go by the new house, but dh says not much has happened since yesterday, so I'll put that off until tomorrow. I'll s2s later before I head out to meet dh for the evening.

-start a lol
-clear kitchen counters
-pack some of the stuff I left out in the DR
