Finally got through that li&t, with a ton of interruptions and sidetracking. I went up in attic, with some assistance from dh and brought down the stuff up there. Led to sidetracked status - one travel bag up there was stuffed with old books that were MIL's. DH and I had to look some up on ebay. There's still some stuff stacked upstairs that dh walked away from and I'm not bringing it down. A guy came by to look at the dead tree that needs to come down - I had to convince dh that I don't want them to come in and scrape down our woods - yes there's lots of undergrowth and weeds but I don't think I want prospective buyers to see scrapped earth! I thought we were going to get the stuff out from under the deck, etc. but he just went down there and looked, and will have a junk man come to get it all from there. (Old lawn mower, wheelbarrow w/o wheels, kiddie pools, remnants of our sukkah!) I'm just feeling pulled around everywhere....

We'll have a quiet, restful day here--a perfect Sunday.

At church this morning, I was mistaken for the mother of a very "mature" fellow. Had gotten mixed in with his family at the front door. DH was not with me. I was surprised, but not offended. Maybe I am old enough to be his mother--but just barely. So...if I have managed to look older than I am, does that make me an over-achiever? I say yes!

Clothes dryer seems to have died here. It's the one that was left here when we bought the house. I have my other dryer that we brought with us in the basement. May have to do some switching around soon, but first we will check the exhaust vent to see if that is clogged.

I'm back from town. Not a successful lunch, the restaurant has closed. First Whitepoint (which hosted conferences and provided year-round jobs for dozens of people and hundreds in the summer) and now the pulp mill closed so the town is really hurting. Subway is still open so I went there for lunch, picked up some stuff from the dollar store and we bought dh shoes (cheaply made and overpriced but it leaves a few more dollars in the community.)

I'm starting to feel guilty about eating in so much while here when there are so many restaurants that need the business. Of course, I'm buying almost 100% of my groceries here so that money stays in the community, but still we may rethink my meal plans.

Dd went to SS but the rest of us stayed home today. My ddad had a hard morning but really not hard on us so much as on him. I think he's had a lot of disappointment because some good dreams that seemed so real to him (visitors) weren't true, or even possible, when he awakened, and of course that takes a long time for him to grasp.

HRH wanted a cake of cornbread this morning, so that was an easy breakfast. We had cornbread-and-milk. Also watermelon, so the hens are delighted with the cool leavings. Reminds me, ice for Sammie soon.

elly, thanks for the agreement last night! I think some of our supermarkets here have gone crazy. A dark, store-length aisle (dark bottles lining both tall sides) for fine wines (and you never see anybody in there even passing through - it's the Twilight Zone), a 25-foot-circular refrigerated cabinet for the prissiest cheeses you've ever seen (no one's on duty inside), an olive bar (what?), Kobe beef, $40-dollar vinegar cruets, plus a sushi chef on duty wearing the hat with nothing to do. But can you find a decent coleslaw or pimento cheese in the joint? No. They also don't have chow-chow, a jar of honey with comb in it, bread-n-butter pickles, ham-hock or Royal Crown Cola. There's a better variety of orchids than of refrigerator biscuits, too - that's like grocery suicide in the mid-south. ONE brand of cornmeal. Dismal. Have to go to the down-to-earth store to feel like the world makes sense.

Church with family and then Chinese for lunch. Then Dsis, Dbro and NSD BIL came out to see the MH.

Anyway, they are gone and the rest of this wonderful afternoon will be ours.

I have not cuop so forgive me if I forget something important...

Church in a drizzle, out of church in a downpour, to funeral home viewing in a heavy downpour. Nap and most evening chores done in wind and lots of rain. We are going to friend's house for a few minutes, to take some food, and pay respects again. He doesn't seem to have many friends / family around.

I called Sunny, she appears to be getting more weather than we are now, although she said her yard wasn't flooding yet, just puddles. I was glad to hear she is ok. It has brightened, though another band of rain might come through at any time. Higher winds are just gusts. This will be ok. Loving the rain.

Dh and I walked to the end of the beach and back. Mile-long my a** - it is at most .6 miles. So I went out and back twice in order to get my 45 minute workout in.

One of the dollar store purchases was an armband mp3 holder this one fits my mp3 player perfectly and has a second pocket that can hold the villa key. It makes taking my music with me easier and doing cool-down exercises to music, possible. I had fashioned a homemade one but my mp3 player just sat in it so when I did my above head arm stretches, it would just slide out and fall to the floor. This one is completely secure and somewhat water resistant (it is zipped in but there's a gap where the headphone cord comes out.)

Anyway, now I feel it will be ok to have pizza tonight!

They should be calling in about 20 - 30 minutes. I might have some salad now because I'm hungry. The sea air is making me very, very, hungry.

Yea the old washer is out dd & sil helped and hauled it up the stairs it's on the carport now. Now maybe dson will come and get his washer with it being out of the basement now nearly such a job to load up and haul off. I've send off a fb request pretty effective for the first part of this.

First load in the dryer h. is down stairs listening to it in case there is a prob. but so far so good 2nd load going now yea! Phew what a relief can't believe how much stress that was causing for me. I'm finding more laundry whenever I go in to a room [iykwim] plus sheets need to be done but they will be one of tomorrow's things I'll be doing they are still on the bed.

I've had lunch. Up and down the stairs not that much of a work out so I'm thinking I need to get outside to do my walking next. I've taken tools back upstairs and out to the tail gate, hauled out water in a bucket not much but glad I thought of it the guys did not think of that when unhooking hoses go figure, I've hauled the hand truck back upstairs and gotten it put away in the shop glad we had it to use!

Church was fantastic. Almost all the free vegetables were taken. Afterwards we picked up chinese take-out and ate at DParents.

We all had a good long nap this afternoon. Simply wonderful!
