WEDNESDAY 'WHOOPS'

Know one thing I want to definitely accomplish today. I finished listing all the books I have here and packed them in individual (gift type) bags or shoe boxes. I need to put those away under our bed, but need dh to help me. Each container is labeled with the contents and a number -they are also listed on my computer. I can't lift the bed by myself. It hinges at the wall (most hinge part way down the bed frame), making it too heavy. I'm thinking if we put hydraulics under there that perhaps I could lift it alone. There's more storage available, but I can't get to it. There's also lots of storage up high in the bedroom (cabinets) -can't reach those either. A step ladder won't fit between the bed and closet doors. So dh stands on the bed and has some of his stuff 'stashed' there. At least I can't 'stash and dash' there. Want to write down everything stored under the bed so I know what's there without actually looking. Seems like (even in a small space) spend too much time 'looking'.

I actually had the bright idea of checked the special dates this morning, and found that today is helia's birthday

I'm also playing hookey from work. There's just SO much to be done around here, the wedding is almost upon us, and ...well....I don't really feel like being at work today Seriously, though...when I walk into my house from wherever I've been and the first thing I think is, "UGH!! I hate this place!", it's time to do something about it! Part of me just wants to crawl into bed and hide under the covers until the housework fairy has been and waved her magic wand, but since that won't be happening any time soon, I guess it's up to me *sigh*

I've already done the upstairs critter stuff, spent some time playing with the kittens, and started the laundry. Next up.....

- dishes
- vacuum living room
- cut a few more pieces of batt for kittycat pads
- reboot laundry
- finish sewing the almost done kittycat pads

It is getting hotter here building up to tomorrow. At least it will only be over 100 for one day and then drop back to the 90s.

I ran errands this morning instead of tomorrow. My errands are all drive up windows.

I made a few phone calls and took delivery of my oxygen refills.

Dh called me at 11 am to see where we were. He was surprised that I was home and we hadn't went afterall. He had discouraged it but didn't think I would cancel. Dd2 had called this morning and said dgd18 months had thrown up on the sofa. That cemented the fact that we had made the right decision. We both were feeling weird about not going but sure don't want to travel in the heat with a vomiting baby.

I called daunt and explained what was going on. She was very understanding but sorry we couldn't make it.

It is 105 and headed to 111 supposedly. It is also very windy.

Those wild fires in Colorado are unbelievable.

VERY nice lady named Sam helped us with the Passports and all is well. It just costs $$$. We opted to get both passports and passport cards so we can put one away and carry the others easier. Since we don't really plan to go anywhere other than Mexico and Canada the cards will work for land travel. And we have the passports if we decide to fly or go somewhere else.

Drove all over town looking for tire valve stems and, of course, found them just around the corner from the campground where I told him to go first.

Now time for a sugar free frozen fudge bar and some cooling off in the AC. It is 91 and very muggy here. High is supposed to be 97.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HELIA!!

Library group reading was fun. the craft was making lavender balls (covered a ball with elmers liquid glue then rolled it in lavender pedals). LO and I worked together on his and we both had glue and lavender pieces stuck all over our fingers by the time we finished. Cleaning up our mess took much longer than making it.....but we sure did smell good (fresh lavender).

Went to the park and played on all the slides, merry go round, swings, see-saws until we were smelling not-so-sweet and needed some time in A/C to cool down

I fired up the charcoal grill and cooked enough meat for 4 meals. I kept the sprinkler going in the yard nearby and would intentionally get wet to cool off while tending the food on hot grill. Grilling in 100+ degree temp is not one of my brightest ideas.

I think it is smarter than heating up the kitchen cooking.

DH and I have a toaster oven and crock pots set up in the garage plus the BBQ for cooking when it is hot. He keeps that window fan sitting on the patio floor to cool him off.
