I'm a day late with this news, but my triumph yesterday was that DDIL called me "Mom" for the first time! I'm very pleased!! Haha...feels like when a baby says "Mama" for the first time!

Yep! Still makes me feel good when DDILs call me that.

Reports on GD have been fairly sparce. The only time they've called dd is to inquire about lack of medication (which was in the mail -priority). Assume they got it in time. GD c alled after the 1st week on a staff's phone and wanted to come home. But have heard nothing since then -so: No news, Good news. DD is really hoping she does so well with the horses that they might want her to wrangle in another year. Animals are definitely her passion.

Made my itinerary -was very tempted to skip the gym but made myself stop. So! 2 days in a row! Could just as well have mailed dh's papers & letter to Dr. Got there only to discover that he's on vacation this week. Could have spent $.46 instead of over 2 1/2 gallons of gas. Should know better.

Going to try to talk dh out of going away tomorrow. Maybe out for dinner and then go away on Friday. Forecast for tomorrow is nasty. Can't imagine 'touring' in all that weather headed toward us and southwest NY.

LucyLee - YGG with that DGrandbaby bonding. Snuggling is so ????? i can't think of a word that captures the experience. I love the smell of a baby's head.

We are back from Wednesday library kids reading/craft time.

I sauteed fresh fish (bartered for a car wash) for lunch. Serve with tartar sauce we buy from a local business, and squash, carrots and beets from the garden. YUM!

next up is LO nap. *POOF*

Another HOT day here, seems like that all we have right now.

We leave the day after tomorrow!

Have dry food packed and sitting to be loaded. The drinks will go in last. Everyone is doing laundry and packing.

Daunt is still fighting eye infection but thinks it is getting better.

Have to work today and tomorrow and then AWAY WE GO!

OKay any left overs? That is my kind of meal.

The temp is 89 with heat index of 99, the humidity is 62%, the air quality is borderline and the mold count is medium. So my oxygen readings should be in the low 90s but I'm reading 99. Wow. I can go to a meeting and have my meal in the dining room (maybe).

Well, so far today has been a wash out instead of rip roaring. This morning I managed to get up to the other house at 10 to meet another guy who will give us a proposal for the painting and misc work up there. By the time I walked the ddogs, s2s-ed and set up the printer (and got it working) I was flying out of here without doing anything. When I was done there, I went to the nail place and got a pedicure - a long soaking and this particular gal really works over the callouses. So I was probably there a couple of hours, and came home for a nice nap.

Last night after I sold our washer/dryer, dh called and said we were invited for supper at friends' house, so we went there. I really consider these "his" friends as I don't know them well, but we had a good time. Got home around 9:30 and I still walked the dogs two laps around the circle.

Weird - last night when we got home a pest guy rang our doorbell - this was 9:30 and said they were servicing homes in this neighborhood and did we want them to do an inspection for pests? Anyway, this guy told dh that we had a "black widow spider nest." Anyway, I just didn't get a good feeling about these guys - we googled the company and there weren't complaints, but it was just weird that they would be servicing and making sales calls so late. I told dh we I preferred to use the pest service we've been using.

I really need to get off my tushie. Trying to decide whether to make a quick trip out for milk so I can have an iced coffee. Think I'll do that and then get back here and get rolling.

Hi everyone! XDH fixed the drive with DD's movies. Because I had DD for the past two days, the house is a disaster. The LR is full of her stuffed animals and boxes she was playing with. The broken globe light glass is still all over the place, but will be picked up tonight. I am still somewhat jet lagged and forgot my lunch today. I have peanut butter crackers to eat though. I still have laundry to do from my trip and suitcases to unpack. DD lost chuck e cheese yesterday by not following directions or listening at her summer camp, so I took her to the library instead. I am thinking on the code I need to write for the code sample they requested for a job application.

Fortified with iced coffee:
-clear kitchen counters
-clear kitchen table
-straighten great room

Dh has a guy here looking at adding additional storage in the garage.

This time:
-make the bed
-straighten up in Bedroom
-fold a lol that ds took out of the dryer last night
-start a load of delicates
-wipe out microwave

Twins, that IS strange that pest guys would show up so late. Hmmm... they weren't also selling K*rby vacuums, were they?
Y'all -- I have to admit -- the K*rby IS probably a more powerful vacuum than my El*ctrolux cannister. HOWEVER, I do enjoy using the Electrolux more, so maybe I will use it more and ANY vacuum that is used is doing a better job cleaning the floors than one that is sitting in the closet. PLUS... if ds/ddil WILL use the K*rby, then that is good, b/c they definitely need the most powerful vacuum @ their house.

AAAUGUGUGUGHH!!!!! THIS KEYBOARD IS DRIVING ME INSANE!!!!! Now it has started thisthing where it does not want to skipspaces between words unless you hit the space bar twice sometimes. I am typing thisnormally so you can seewhat I am talking about!!! Grrrrrr!!!! I suspect thismay havesomethingto do witht hefact thatdh eats his APPLE while surfing the internet each morning andgets sticky stuff on the keyboard. The oldG*teway keyboard had somethingofa wrist guard and the sticky stuff went THERE. This onedoes not sothesticky stuff goes right on the space bar. I have to change keyboards. Thisisridiculous.

I know, OKay... I'd just catch myself every so often, just inhaling him and kissing his little head.
I've got to admit, I'm NOT crazy about dirty diapers... hope that doesn't make me a bad grandma... but I sure do love that snuggling and cuddling.
And dh certainly brightens up when he sees dgbaby. Oh my... after 29 years, I'd almost forgotten what dh sounds like when he talks to a baby, LOL!!!

DH & I have never called our dmil/dfils "mom" etc... but we do love them and get along very well. I don't know what dh calls my mom... I think he uses her first name when he refers to her when talking to others. (You have to realize, and this sounds odd, but since dmom was only 16 when I was born, she is only 6 years older than dh!) I call dmil "Mrs. Lee." Ddil calls us by our first names. I don't mind.

Oh... joining you in hopes that the horses will provide a good outlet for dgd's emotions, etc, Dee! That could be such a good form of therapy for her!

Well. This has possibly been the most unproductive day of my entire summer. But the last two days were two of my best days, so maybe it all evens out. I MUSTchange thiskeyboard... then s2sand see what the rest of the day holds...
