OKay, there are definitely yellow Twizzers on the market here. Dd13 and I saw some within the month. I believe we were at a Wal greens, but they are probably at many stores.

Tomorrow dniece and all 3 kids are coming to lunch. The girls are excited.

I have arranged for a round table that will hold 6 in the corner looking out on the deck and to the back trees. They will remove 3 chairs - I don't need one and the highchair can go in the place of a chair. The third chair means there is more room for their coloring.

They use tumblers with snap on lids and a straw. They can take those home.

My neighbor wants to come down to meet them and the chef that visits me in the hospital wants to meet dniece and the kids.

The residents just love to see kids and especially well mannered ones in the dining room. I would take any or all to any restaurant.

Have fun tomorrow at lunch with your family, Indiana. That sounds like a great time!

Not 30 minutes after I posted last we had a nice warm gentle steady rain. It could have lasted a bit longer, but the ground is a bit wet now.

I have finished that project. It always takes me a while. Fortunately, all the figures added up correctly. When they don't it takes me a long time to figure out where my mistake is. I got it in the mail on time.

All this desk work the past couple days - and my desk is still piled up. One more session should do it, but I need a break. LOL is hung up. I counted 28 pieces. I've done another little bit of paperwork for DH. Need to finish dailies and get lunch. It always takes me a few minutes to switch gears from this work to household stuff. How do you all do that?

Dr appt with dmom went well - this is the one that is fartherest away and it is a shorter trip from our new house. She got shots in shoulder and knee today. On the way home, we stopped off here at the new house and she got to see ds and the ddogs, who fussed over her for her attention. I stopped at a Subway on the way back to her house and we had sandwiches together once we got there, and I'm home finally. For a 10:30 appt, I left home at 9 a.m.

I posted in members only. I'm in tears right now over a temple issue. Going to give myself a nap now.

Hi all! I'm sorry, I'm not keeping up with you all very well. I am severely distracted by the Olympics. Funny, since I don't follow any sort of sport at any other time. Well, I do like following the World Cup when that comes around. . . . I think I'm also enjoying the first week this summer where I'm not (a) travelling, (b) preparing for a trip or other event (like a grad party, church event, etc.) or (c) recovering from a trip or other event. :) I think dh is a little distressed by my lack of productivity, however. . . .

The cake sounds fabulous, OK! I hope we can see a photo of it once you get it figured out - whether or not you end up making it.

Indiana, that sounds like such a fun lunch tomorrow!

Dee, I'm with you on the laundry issue. i haven't done towels in probably. . .2 weeks. I think I have about 6 or so loads - and we're not running out of towels either. We have a lot of them, apparently! Well, we are running out of dish towels.

((Twins))

Relaxing as it is, my week isn't 100% empty; that would be too much to ask for. LOL! The girls still have activities going on - art every morning for dd16, field hockey for dd14 Wed., mentor meeting for dd16 Wed., oboe for dd14 Thursday, dermo. appt. for ds Th. I think I'm hosting dd16's girl's Bible study Friday afternoon. Then, there are the social activities: Thursday dinner crew here Thursday. R ate with us last night and friend A will eat with us tomorrow night. We may host small group Saturday.

Ds is back at work, 8 hours a day. He finished a project (creating a computer program) before he left and got lots of positive feedback on his work yesterday, his first day back at work, which was nice for him; one guy in the company thanked him and said he's using it a lot for a variety of purposes. I've been kind of hoping ds would pursue an engineering area other than comp. sci., but maybe this is what he should be doing. . . . He needs to be doing what is best for him and not necessarily what his mother thinks is best for him. I guess this is a long process?

Dd16 and I have a dinner date tonight. :) Then, I'll go to my book club which is meeting tonight. Dh has ceramics class tonight; he's working on a set of nesting bowls for his sister for her wedding later this month.

I'm off now to tackle the mountain of towels. Then, I'll make corn on the cob for those who are eating at home tonight - to go with the tamales. Which it doesn't really, but we all like corn on the cob anyway. . . .

We've had a storm for the last 15 minutes -6/10 of an inch so far. Dh's radio is hopping but nothing so far for either of his fire depts. Hate to see anyone out in this kind of lightening/rain storm. We've not had this rate in a very long time. Hoping those of you who so badly need rain, get a long steady rain -as Harmony said.

Hoping dd's dlab is doing ok. She took dgs7 to the water park (indoors) today. Glad it's inside. I'd go bring dlab over here but it's storming too hard to even venture out. Hopefully dd turned on the AC and that will help.

Have to go look at J&C, Twins.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

As it turns out, the meeting I was going to this evening was cancelled, and no one told me. I texted the committee chair to check on the time since the meeting wasn't on the temple calendar and he said he cancelled and rescheduled for next Tuesday night, which conflicts w the temple executive committee meeting, which the rabbi and I attend. :?

So this means I can go out for dinner this evening with dh and an Israeli friend. I'm trying to straighten the house up a bit since I did very little this morning, and even less since then.

Hi everyone! Tonight is Girls' Night Out with DD10. We will eat Chinese and go to Chuck E Cheese probably. Last night, I got a fair amount done: put away the camping stuff, washed laundry (but did not put it away), paid bills, deposited a check, balanced the checkbook, unpacked and put away one suitcase, and fixed lunch for today. There are still a number of things I need to do: put away stuff cleaned out of car, unpack and put away another suitcase, put away laundry, clear up stuffed animals in DD's room, weed the yard, and organize pictures from the cruise. None of this will be done today due to Girls Night Out.

The animal organization I work with is considering eliminating the sunday adoption clinic. This is a problem because I arranged DD visitation around their schedule and if I have to get the cats to clinic on Saturday, it is a problem. I don't know if XDH will cooperate because he resented having the visitation arranged around cat clinic. The reason i was so insistent to accomodate it was because the reason we even have a Sunday clinic is because I set it up since he wanted our Saturdays free. Ugh.

And to really make life great for me, I have to pick up DD at his possible date's apartment. This date was a good family friend before the divorce. However, her son is in the same day camp this week as DD, so it is convenient for her to go there. I wish I knew if they were dating or not. If not, I can remain friends with this person. If they are, then XDH left me for her.

Laundry is done now.
I've watered some more.
Seems like I've done more than that since my last check in.
Picked up apples a couple more times washed out some buckets.
Bed is made again now and the house looks better so that is good.
I'm waiting to do errands but do not really want to deal with the first of the month crowds.
But if I wait then it's picked over.
I need to think about the groc. list as well.
Forgot to pick up one of my Rx 's glad I was not out of it.

Dh says storms will hit here in 20 minutes. Something blew through, with no thunder or rain, while we were eating dinner. The wind changed and the temp dropped from 84 to 73. Windows are now all open with the hope will catch some air as the next cell goes by.

OKay I still say a chocolate frosted cake topped with a couple of new toy backhoes moving piles of candies will be fine. Remember to look at things from the viewpoint of 4 year olds, not an adult who has been perusing cake decorating internet sights. If his cake leaves him with something that he can play with for months after, all the better than a cake that is there one moment and destroyed the next. Don't know how many are coming to the party but maybe get a big sheet cake and then have a new toy backhoe for each child attending so go in their loot bag to take home.

My day at volunteering went well but it was mainly strategic planning. I'm going to be busy over the next few weeks. In fact, dh and I are going in on Thursday after our singing to seniors and before our choir practice to help her get the books being sent back all reconciled against invoices.
