Hmmm, late start on the 5x5:

1. Get lunch made to take to choir practice
2. Choir practice
3. Grocery shopping on the way home, including milk and chicken for dinner tonight
4. Prepare flank steak marinade and get those into the freezer for future meals.
5. Prepare one chicken for the freezer and the other for the bbq tonight.

All right, I guess, if we cheat and count the lunch making, I've succeeded. It meant I could eat lunch on the way home in the car, so we got home faster after choir was over.

I've been singing with dh. Details are being lost but because I'm not staring at the music, I'm hearing them - things like they picked a hymn that has 2 different notes than a traditional hymn and new words. It has been driving me nuts listening to dh play it because I felt the hymn was a complete rip-off. But includes a baseline on the chorus for dh so he asked me to sing the lead against him and I looked closely at the music. It is the same tune (name, etc) as the familiar one, so now I feel better.

A few minutes later, dh is going through our traditional book and turns to the page of the traditional hymn. I point out it is the same tune so I hope they aren't at the same worship service. Turns out they are. He's sent an email.

Dh also couldn't get the rhythm of another piece right. I cross-checked and the version we sing (same tune) is in 3/4 time, not 4/4 so that explains his difficulty. So he needs to check with the keyboardist to see which rhythm we'll be doing. No wonder dh kept getting messed up, there are two versions of the same tune, one with 53 total beats per verse, the other with 48.

I don't have to practice these if I don't want because I'm not part of the lead singers on these, I'll just be in the congregation if I'm not assigned elsewhere doing something greeter related.

Had to stop and go pick up dd's dlab. Lots of 'weekenders' here and they were sitting on dd's side of their RV, which kept dlab barking. DD, DS-R, DDIL, DGS7 and GD14 are all going to a lacrosse game in the city. She had asked dh to go (I put a bug in her ear that dh would like to go see 1). However I later told her he'd most likely say no as I could tell he's feeling pretty poorly. And that he did. Somewhat concerned because he's looking/acting like he always does when he has an 'attack'. But I'm sure this will not end up in a hospital run. He did ask for antacids a while ago, but has not used the nitro yet. Supposedly the 2nd omeprazole is supposed to stop his esophogus from doing spasms???? Of course some of this may be heat related. But I do recognize the symptoms.... :?

The 'mount' I was looking for: DH, I thought, told me it was a mount for the new golf cart lights. He was working on them in here. So that's what I was looking for. In the process I took the mount for the atomic clock out of a dish while I was looking. He came in. Said, "Here it is!" I was confused as I thought that was for the clock -it was and that's what he was looking for. :roll: At least I can stop looking for that. ;)

I have to find a covered basket of some kind that I can leave out to put anything I find of his. Then I can just tell him to look in that! :mrgreen:

DH is snoozing and I really hope noone calls for his assistance -because he'll go. The store called a while ago for a toilet in the men's room. He went but not before he dozed another 5 or 6 minutes.

Hope you're staying cool and well today, Indiana.

Quiet Saturday continues here. Dh has gone to bed; I do think he is feeling better although he doesn't see it.

Dd's friends have left, Z is spending the night w ds. We agreed we will order pizza later for supper. I'm watching Olympics off and on.

I owe a 5 x 5 tomorrow.

I did order additional baskets from Tar - jay. I finally found online those that matched one ones I bought Thursday. Once I get shelves in the "nook" the baskets will go on the adjustable shelves. This small area is 19 inches wide and about 25 deep, we had it drywalled in and finished instead of leaving it as dead space. If we had a crawl space, HVAC venting would be there.

My lab mix, Macs, is upset about a thunderstorm. Any one have experience w Thundershirts?

Boy... my 5x5 looks like this, I guess.
* s2s
* eat breakfast
* eat lunch
* visit with couple of elderly men who stopped by for a minute
* read book

I have also slept a good bit... talked to dmil on phone... s/s dh's shower... that's about it.

Allergies are still bothering me a good bit, and I just do not have the energy to do ANYTHING.

Re: s/s dh's shower -- I don't think I've shared with y'all, but I think I have found a solution/improvement to that situation... FINALLY. I have been wiping out the floor w/a Mr. Clean pad once a week for the last month or so, and I think it is helping. So far, this has kept the black build-up away. Occasionally, I'll do a little bit on the sides also, but they generally stay a LOT cleaner than the floor. This may not be a complete cure-all, but maybe it will eliminate the temptation to use dynamite the next time that zone comes around.

Right now, though, I am just trying to conquer myself.
On the one hand, I have just one week left before school starts... I'd really like to have the house clean before I go back.
On the other hand, I have just one week left before school starts. I'd really like to just sleep for 7 days.

What is the secret for making yourself get moving when you just donwanna do ANYTHING???
Tomorrow is another day.

Not here, Twins, but it definitely sounds interesting for dlab.

Sometimes when I 'don't wanna', LucyLee, I sit and make out cards for the simplest things (some I already have) and hand them to my maid (inner one that is). Eventually she manages to click away some of those cards and wallah! some things at least get done. It almost feels like I'm telling someone else to do it. 1 thing at a time!

It's "G P Talent night" and we should go down to support and encourage, but not sure dh will feel up to it and not sure I want to leave him here alone.

Nothing new to report around here... we visited dmil, I got her mail for her in town, we left, ate supper...
I've spent a lot of time looking back at our old posts. Sometimes I like to see what I was doing a year ago today, etc.
Apparently, early August is ALWAYS an allergy hot-spot for me. Maybe I'm NOT allergic to whatever dog dander is coming in with dgs.
I may try to take a nap. I think we're going to a movie later.
Tomorrow is another day.

Twins, I've seen those shirts advertised on tv. They looked really effective in the ad.

I didn't do 5 things today, well, here at least. I was out the door early to church with my bowls of cookies. And I worked for about 5 hours in our kitchen and fellowship hall. Food and fellowship were nice. I did not get near the soapy water today. My rashy hand will not tolerate it right now. My good friend gave me a name of a good dermatologist she uses. All I need to do is call for an appointment and I know this will all clear up. :roll:

My sunburned skin is still peeling. I have a scratched area on my leg that refuses to heal and is itchy. I'm just a mess. I know what I've been told, that stress accelerates such problems. Ya think?

I broom swept the floors just now. They all need mopped, I've never seen them so bad. It will have to wait.

Some sort of allergen is bothering me too, Lucy. Besides the skin issues my nose is a bit runny.

DH went in the bathroom about 7 -thought he was still in there so went to check. He'd gone in on the bed (a thing he never does). The bedroom was hot because I close the door when the AC is on out here. So turned on the fan and AC in there. Dneighbor just came over and asked if I wanted him to take dh's cart down to the barn -so he did that for us. Not sure how he knew dh is not feeling well, but obviously he did. About all he's had today is beverage. I'm somewhat worried but will try to ride it out with him.

Getting quite windy out here. Supposed to have strong storms here tomorrow -all of western NY actually.

Hoping dd will be home not too much after nine to pick up dlab. I may end up taking her over and putting her in the MH before she gets back.
