Re: Moving On Monday
Dee We have one of those grocery bags for keeping hot things hot (or cold things cold) so I overheat the bean bag by 30% and put it in there. Today it was out of the microwave for just an hour before I used it and it was still hot enough that we got the draw out of my left elbow area. She had to draw a vial from two different pricks but it is still easier and less painful than from my hand.
Report from the doctor: no hepatitis, no mono. Bilirubin level is just outside normal (she didn't mention it but I went back and got the reading from the receptionist because today's blood work will have another reading and I wanted to be able to compare.
She thinks I'm on the mend. I'll know better when I see the next round of blood work (if things are dropping back towards normal, then I'll agree.)
I still can't take anything (allergy pills, tylenol, advil only if necessary). She said no minerals or vitamins will hurt so I'll keep taking my pills.
My tummy is on edge today, not nauseous, not cramping, just on edge. I expect that will get worse as my hunger grows. I'm really thirsty and my mouth is try. I keep telling myself to hold on until 3:30. Just hope the lab at the hospital is running on time.

Re: Moving On Monday
That certainly makes sense, Kathryn. Never thought of using mine to keep a bean bag hot. I will try that next time -which is coming up very soon. Hope you can find out what this malady has been! Know you've been one very sick cookie!
I finally got s2s, breakfast in and dishes done.
DSIL called a while ago and announced they will be coming in September. She was not happy to learn dh is now working Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues. as they want to come on a weekend so they can see everybody. Perhaps when we know when they're coming for sure we'll have a better idea of how dh can possibly change his schedule. Now to decide whether to have them stay in dd's motorhome or here. Decisions, decisions. Know it would probably be more relaxing for us to have them stay in MH, but will see what dh thinks.

Re: Moving On Monday
One of dh's jobs on Mon morning is to throw out the remaining Sunday newspapers. I never realized he did that -just figured the 'paper guy' would take any left in the machine. He happened to keep 1 coupon flyer last week & then it hit me, the remaining coupon pages are thrown away every week. No more!
There's not usually a lot for us any more but some.
Now I'm taking on getting minutes done for tonight's meeting. Diving in -here I go. I'm setting aside the next 2 hours (I know it won't take me near that long, but am always pleasantly surprised at how long it does take!)

Re: Moving On Monday
Hopefully you are on the mend now, Kathryn, maybe today's test will say that too.
I seriously needed a break from work so I'm here now. Technology.
I don't know why it's so hard for us. We are having issues with county office over one job and managed to get engineer to send pictures he took over 2 years ago to prove something to them... and after much angst we succeeded in uploading them to w-m for printing (we don't do color here any more). DH at the keyboard. Frustrating, he does not even know how to type...hunt and peck, hunt and hunt, peck...AKKK.
It is raining, drizzley, misty, not good painting weather for sure. DH and helper are outside sitting on porch eating their lunch. I think we're done for the day.
I need to move on. I don't know why my anxiety level is so high these days. I just felt it escalating when we were working on those pics. Awful feeling. And I was working on some licensing stuff and now can't remember where I left off..
I need to move on past all this too. I am trying to get back into the swing of things around here, but just feel as if I need to go slower and take care of me more. I keep waking up all night too, that isn't helping.
I hope you all have a nice day. School around here started today, also in middle of state for all my DGKids. OKay, about the mat, in kindergarden, DGS took a quilt I'd made other DGSon. He really liked it, but the kids made fun of him because it had teddy bears on one side and jungle animals on the back...so eventually he brought it home. I guess he grew up a little bit then. I was sad...

Re: Moving On Monday
that is a part of school that I really am not looking forward to. That quilt was made/received/used with love and all good feelings surrounding it....hopefully the unkind comments didn't ruin that good feeling. LO has been involved in several different groups of children and gets along well with them.....but I've always been there to monitor. In one of his groups there is a 5 year old that is downright MEAN. Angry mean. To everyone. LO doesn't understand to stay away from those type of children. He thinks everyone wants to be his friend. I know we can't wrap children in bubble wrap and we are suppose to let them experience the bad and learn from it.....but can't we wait until they are older? Like 150 years old or so..the kids made fun of him
3x5 cards are working well for me today. As I walk by the desk and see the next up card, it reminds me what I am suppose to be doing. I tend to go from one thing to another and frequently I find myself working on things that aren't important to get done......meanwhile the important things are left undone.

Re: Moving On Monday
I spent the morning helping fit high school band students with marching band uniforms. I got home about an hour ago and have had lunch since then. I'm feeling really tired; i don't think I slept well last night.
Dd14 is working on a play date with a friend across town. Since both her parents work, this means I'll be chauffeuring back and forth, which will take about 1.5 hours of my afternoon. I'm going to agree b/c I don't have too much going on and dd14 will be out of town the next 3 weeks. Also, dd14 and friend are going to different high schools, so opportunities to see each other will be more sporadic from now on.
Dd14 leaves with the high school band for Interlochen music camp first thing tomorrow morning. I will drive up to watch the concert and then bring her home Sunday afternoon. She has one night at home, and then she leaves with dh, dd16, and dd16's friend for Netherlands Monday evening. It's a bit tight but should work. Dd14 also registers for school that Monday morning, another reason to pick her up after the concert rather than sending her home on the Monday bus. I wonder what the other freshmen in band are doing?
I'm drinking caffeine and need to move on to grocery shopping and some phone calls and laundry.
Hope you find answers, kathryn.

Re: Moving On Monday
Good morning y'all...
Just call me stinky at the moment. I just got back from my exercise class and really, really need a shower. I still have an x-ray and ekg to get done before I have my toe procedure on Thur. Will do that later this afternoon.
I'm celebrating for anyone who's having a break in the weather. It's going to be an other 115* day around here, and I don't expect any relief till perhaps Friday. We have been setting records for both morning and afternoon daily temps. Lows in the morning are......92*
Norma, glad you found your "card" so funny. My mom sent it to Sweetie thanking him for our tickets to the show we saw in NYC. I talked to her last night and told her what Sweetie had done with her card and my mom said she was glad she could make so many people laugh.
Twins and Harmony you both sound like you could use a few Girls' night out and long with a couple of days thrown in. KIC I hope you continue to feel better.
I have a few more things to do at my desk and then I'm heading for the shower. I would like to make a stop or two at the mall after I get my tests done. They are less than 1/2 mile from each other and y'all know how much I hate shopping. Everything will depend on the timing of my tests and the heat. MT...be glad you're not around for this, its not fun. However, I know its only temporary and the cooler weather will show up in a month or so. Then I can really enjoy my time outside.
Its so hot the Willis can't swim much. The water is warm and remember dogs' body temps are higher than ours. He loves jumping in the pool to get the ball, its just climbing out seems to really get to him. After about 7 laps or so he climbs out with his ball in his mouth, shakes, and looks at me as if to say... Really, you're not going to make me do that again. That aught to give you an idea just how hot it is around here. Remember during cooler weather Willis swam 103 laps before "I" got tired of throwing the ball into the pool.
Splish, Slash, I'm taking my bath.......................................................

Re: Moving On Monday
Well, that 'little' job is done. Actually ended up taking me 1 1/4 hours (with interruptions). DGS7 was getting very bored and could see the kids across the drive had arrived. He really wanted to go, but I had told him that they would come ask for him if their Mom wanted them to have company. Wallah! 10 minutes later. He went out 'working' with Grandpa for a little bit.
DS-R, DDIL & DGS7 are all going to a WKA (karting) event outside of Pittsburgh some time Thursday. DH is supposed to go, but is wavering. He only started back to work last week and hates to tell dboss already that he can't work.

Re: Moving On Monday
I went to bed for about 2.5 hours and just dozed while listening to junk tv. Put heat on my tummy to help with the tenseness.
Ds just called; he'll meet us at the hospital after he's done work (test is at 'his' hospital but he's working at another one M-F these days on an IT project.) If we meet up with him, he has a free parking pass we can use. Parking is $13 if you are at a hospital over 75 minutes and online it says the ultrasound takes 30 - 60 minutes so odds are good we'll be there for the daily max.
Dh just pulled up so off I go!

Re: Moving On Monday
Harmony, I want to dress like Thelma Lou on Andy Griffith in shirtdresses - my mother dressed like that (little waist, slim ribcage area) and someday, someday, I'll get back there!!!
I don't remember from the past what hosiery dear aunt92 wore out into the world. At this time in her life, her grandchildren do all errands for her, and going to her mailbox and working in her flower beds is about as far as she travels from the house, really. Yesterday she had on slippers and stepped into shoes to join us outside, I believe with those barly-there little beige on underneath. (what do you call those?)
What hose/socks under dresses is a puzzlement for me, too. When it's a mid-calf length (and it usually is) in a hot month, I like knee-highs fine, but do feel a little self-conscious out in the world like that in case of a stiff breeze!
For church it's always pantyhose. Going without hosiery is not an option I like, because I have spider veins. This does make me see the practicality of a daily uniform of jeans, yes. (Remember, aprons are charming over jeans, too - in a very different way!)
lucylee, well, she will do better caring for him now than later.... ...
Keep getting better, Kathryn and Indiana! I like this aspect of "Moving On".
Cards - delighted to hear all about the different card files. If anyone has a tip, idea or just want to note that they are "in the box", trot over to Cardfile Central and chat about it.
Aside - I think I am just going to get Tobias a computer-desk bed. Sigh. I have to stop typing to wait for him to make a place.
heat pad thingies - we saw heat-animals (stuffed animals) at Mar shall's yesterday. One was a really gorgeous owl, several were made with Minkee (super soft chenille). Microwave. Would an insulated purse like mine keep that warm in the car? Does a great job with cold things, of course, but that's with a frozen whatsit in there, too. Mine looks exactly like a nice black purse - got it at Wal greens.
Sometimes a man needs McDonald's as much as a child does, Nancy. A little stress-opposite.
OKay, meanness is going to be there. Have some talks ahead of time. My mother used to give upset first-graders a quick private lesson in pcychology while drying tears, and I remember her saying it was important to use the word, "we" so the child knew they were capable of hurting others, too. Something like, "Sometimes WE say mean things because WE are hurting. Sometimes WE try to embarrass someone else because WE are afraid of being embarrassed." That was about all the time she would have, so she had to hope it would help and move on to the 30 other children.
Hello, Stinky. I wonder if coconut oil, with it's anti-fungal properties, would be a good moisturizer for you, too... ...
