Just happened to wonder if I can scan all the pages from journaling (that were caught in the watermelon explosion) and then retype from there as I have time. I know how to scan -just a matter of resizing so I can read them. I'll look into that this afternoon.

DGS7 is getting restless. So guess I'd better get s2s. Hopefully dh will take him out for a while.

Went for dinner with dneighbors last night. Of course my weight and blood count were both up this morning. :| I even brought half my meal home. But sure the dressing (creamy bacon) and the mashed potatoes did not help. I only had water to drink and no rolls, no dessert. The 3 others did have dessert. I'd hate to think what it would have been had I partaken! Back to moving and working on that weight. I've managed to lose about 9 lbs. since I started this a few weeks ago.

I think the hummingbirds are getting ready to fly away. They sure are busy and fighting over the feeder. Know they're usually gone by Labor Day.

Good Morning
I am so sorry for the loss of Indiana, while I have never met her, I can tell she was a very dear close friend to all of you. Many prayers and hugs.

Good morning, villagers ~

Today is errand day, so I will be making a run to Sam's this afternoon. This morning I'm working on menu and grocery lists to see if I can limit to the 1 stop, or if I have to go to Aldi as well as Sam's.

Still need to unpack the suitcase and will do that in a few minutes.

The recycle and trash bins went to the curb last night stuffed totally full, which makes me happy. That sounds weird and I would not admit it anywhere but here. I trust you all to understand that satisfaction of getting unneeded items out of the house.

I'm eager to start another round of decluttering to fill those bins again.

This evening I will figure out the logistics of cutting out a sewing project. I want to be like Nancy and do something creative every day.

I feel confident we will be able to continue along here, with so many computer savvy people around. In my case, if I disappear, Sunny will be here; if she would disappear I could relay a message. Sometimes we use this board just to get information about each other...since we're really bad about getting on the phone with each other and not getting off!

It appears many of us did not get peaceful sleep last night. I've been experiencing that hyper nerve thing one can get from steroid use. I lay awake listening / feeling my heart flutter and beat wildly. It took about 2 hours for me to get to sleep last night. Probably one reason I'm so tired all day.

Got up to DH and helper up on ladder at high ceiling in our shop rewiring light fixture. Ballasts in 4-tube fluorescent fixture had broken. Since they were still here I had time to scurry around and make their lunch for today.

Up today: must get kitchen cleaned up, laundry folded (2 loads), some paperwork, some groceries and Rx bought. 1 DPC. I think that's enough for me today. BBL

The past few months when Indiana went to the hospital I've wondered it this would be her last. While watering the garden I had a great feeling of peace come over me and thought I would check and see if there is any news she had passed just before I got on line it. My prayers going up for her family and friends and of course Jake.

Life goes on around here yesterday was a great day we poured the patio expansion, h. brought the concrete truck @ 4:30 p.m. and we worked it and by dusk called it good enough. H. took the truck back to work about 6:30 dson came by for a look see. Then I called sil to see if he needed his tools back right away and a deer came up the road and stopped in the neighbors yard while I was looking out the window. I was glad it did not head through the back yard for apples. Concerned it might walk through the freshly poured concrete.

H. is "on call" today we're out of milk, granols bars and only two eggs left, peaches and apples are "on the tree"! Did not get the store run done the other day.

I have granny duty nine-ish.
BS was low #59 today so I had the last granola bar a plum. We have lots of plums on the counter in the kitchen. After making a gallon of applesauce with other fruits in it yesterday the kit. is a disaster and great place to begin today!

Thank you, Beatrice -you'll understand even more the longer you 'hang' around us. :) The commraderie here is unlike any other -IRL or the Internet.

Have my cards lined up and have done some puttery things. Different when my day is interrupted with dgs -but those are good interruptions! :D Only wish I was able to keep new dgs like I/we did when his big brother was his size. Of course we're no longer right next door nor am I physically able to do it for very long.

Another weird (weather) day. Had the electric fireplace on earlier and now have fan and the door open. DGS seems to think dneighbor is coming to get him again today. Tomorrow dgd17 is coming to spend the day with him. Actually she's spending the night at DS-R's & ddil's so she'll be there in the morning. We're going to Vidler's in E. Aurora with a group from here. Didn't think we'd be able to go, but ddil told us late last night about dgd coming.

DS-R is thinking about taking dgs7 to NJ on Wednesday for a day of practice at the track they'll be going to later in September. DS had told dgs on Sunday in the hospital that if he wanted to quit running, it was okay -that they'd sell the stuff and that would be it, no questions asked. But dgs wanted to get back in the kart -that day! Kids are resilient!

Slow start, but I'm getting on with my day. . .

I am s2s. the bed is made. I have brought up garbage and recycling cans from the curb, plus newspapers and mail. I think it is yesterday's mail, actually. Emailed church secretary to ask about availability for a room for moms group first steering comm. meeting in September. I'm eating some bfast now.

I missed the window of opportunity for jogging outside this morning. It is too hot now. I actually prefer exercising late in the afternoon but b/c it will be hot today, I'll have to do that at the gym which is OK.

Off to finish the a.m. routine. Then, I need to run a couple of errands. I think I'll start a project from my li&t this afternoon. Then, I'll jog and make dinner for 3 dfriends from our Thursday crew coming over tonight.

Our day is turning hot and muggy too. I got the house shut up now (after days of leaving it open, that feels confining.)

I changed the towels and cleaned the bathrooms. Sent an email to the mass choir director about returning the music I had for the General Council.

I think it is time for me to go back to bed for a bit.

Morning ya'll...

In an effort to keep my mind busy yesterday and allow myself time to absorb the news about Indi, I cleaned my house. I had planned to do the house blessing today, so now I am wondering what to do with my time. The monsoon rains came early this morning. It was what MT refers to as "male rain". I have puddles out in my yard. Temps are way down...our high should be 95 today, so perhaps I will spend some time out on my patio enjoying the outdoors before it turns hot again.

Had a lovely time last night with dfs eating at a new restaurant. We were discussing family history and my friend told me that her mother, who is now 86, would eat crushed saltine crackers with sugar and milk for breakfast. Have any of ya'll ever heard of that??? DF said it is what her mom referred to as cereal.

I am taking Sadie TWD to the vets today. She is getting her nails done ;) Because of the heat, I haven't been able to walk her every day. Normally the cement wears her nails down so we never have to trim them. Now her nails are so long that they are curling. Sweetie and I tried to cut the nails ourselves, but Sadie snapped at Sweetie. He was holding her, and I was trimming. she's never snapped at us before so I decided just to let the vet do her nails. They have far more experience with snapping dogs and nail cuttings than I do ;)

Off to do desk work...I'll cy'all later.................

Cowinkie, the husband of a former neighbor loved crushed saltines in a glass of milk for supper. She had problems with migraines, so anytime she felt crummy and didn't feel like cooking, he was more than happy to have that for his meal.
