Last night I went with dd1, dsonil and dgs18 to the custard/burger place that dgd15 is working at. Since a girl had posted it on FB, there was a long line. It took us 2 hours to stand in line and get our food. I was wishing I had of stayed home but they wanted to see how dgd15 was doing. She was just wiping tables, etc., so they were wishing we hadn't stayed either, but by the time we were in the door and could see her, it seemed silly to leave then. The store opens to paying customers today. The food was good but we didn't get any custard due to another 45 minute wait. NO thanks! I had taken my bs just seconds before they picked me up. It was 88. I had a package of M&Ms that I munched on to keep it from dropping during the wait.

Dh went to the plant for a few hours today, to check on repair progress.

The Christian concert was great and well attended. It was outside and was cool by the time it was over.

When I walked early this morning, it was 64 but because of the humidity it seemed a lot warmer.

MT, I thoroughly enjoy your blog.

Since dh didn't get to go on the day trip yesterday, the guys were kind enough ;) to send him a picture of their heaping plates of a bar b q meal. Dh and I started talking about a meal we had had near St. Louis on our trip in May. It was a local bar b q place and they had a side dish that we loved. We were lucky enough to get the last 2 servings for the day. I think it was called Cornbread casserole. I couldn't help but think that is something I would normally have asked Indiana about. Another reminder of how much I will miss her vast knowledge and willingness to share it.

Well I better get busy................

Utube videos of the puppies swimming http://www.youtube.com/user/waterfowlch ... sults_main
There are more videos of them on the same page.

I know what you mean, Lilac, even as I posted the link to the videos - I know Indiana used to love to watch them.

Went down to the volunteer room today to make some aprons. Had enough material for 2 full and 2 half aprons. The ties and pockets are of a contrasting solid. Thanks Harriet for the measurements and instructions. After I finished one, I took it down to show the cook - wouldn't you know - she is off today. So no need to hurry as I'll get them done next week.

Just relented and took 2 tylenol to try to get rid of this headache. I'm still a bit 'tipsy' and don't feel like doing much.

I'm heating up some chicken 'stew' -it was supposed to be chicken 'n biscuits-. Dished up a bowl for dh and put the rest in 3 separate freezer containers & in the freezer. We're tired of eating it now. There are HUGE pieces of chicken breast. He mad this in a big soup/stew pot and it was over 3/4 full. He brought biscuits but we'd prefer 'real' biscuits or mashed potatoes. Dh had some on toast yesterday.

I have a double corn casserole I make with cream cheese, Lilac, but not sure it's the same. Though this one does disappear.

A fitting theme for today, Dee :) .

I'm tying up some loose ends today. Writing project I was working on is almost finished. Need to finish that today & print it out as I will be without a computer this week. Have been procrastinating bringing it in for repair (power cords not charging consistently) but was making do because one of the 2 cords was fairly reliable. And now it's not  .

Have decided I will put my computer-less time to good use decluttering. Linen closet is first on the list as it has been bugging me for a long time. I haven't wanted to pull everything out of there but it really needs to be done. I was inspired by OKay -- if she can empty an entire room, surely I can do the same to a closet!

Waving ~~~~~ to everyone.

hello to maxsgrandma

Church was nice. We were intended to watch a video but there were computer glitches. We may have actually gotten out a bit early because of that. I know dd13 was glad because she felt somewhat as Kathryn did during the service, but she was suffering from a known teen malady - boredom - not anything real. Kathryn, I know you felt odd "sitting out" the singing, etc., but I'm just so glad you got to go.

I learned that my oldest boy-cousin has had pneumonia and fretted over him a bit. He didn't tell us. I guess he didn't think it was that big a deal. I reminded him that our grandmother had 9 bouts with it throughout her life and lived over 93, far outlasting all the drs who said "another bout with pneumonia will kill you". Still, I worry about him. He is so exhausted with eldercare and the care of his wife.

After church dd and I (of course if I am away from home, HRH is home) ran by the healthy food store and got HRH the mashed potatoes they make that he dearly loves to eat, also their slaw and some grilled chicken. So that made a good Sunday lunch.

Dee hope you keep feeling better.

MT, thanks for posting this link. It has been fun watching these puppies grow. They look so cute in the water the way their tails move. Also, them playing with the stuffed toys. I also liked the video of them eating solid food the first time.

I thought I had posted that recipe, Lilac, but don't find it. I'll find it and post it now. We all like it (and dh doesn't like cornbread). :D Hmmmm....now I have to look for it. Suddenly it's not in my recipe file either. Bummer. I'll have to plug in my 'back-up' and see if I can find it.

Editing: It's now in recipes under Miscellaneous, Lilac. I found it in the back-up so not sure why it's not in my 'recipe' file. Will copy it myself and put it there now though.

Had a long chat with dd, over 90 minutes. Her job ended this week and in 2 weeks she starts classes (distance learning) in Early Childhood Education. She's frustrated because the course guidelines are not set in stone, different web pages have different requirements that contradict each other. For example: which books she needs for her classes. Since she is across the country, she can't just wait until the first class, ask, and then run over to the bookstore.

I told her to get used to this lack of attention to detail. It drives her nuts and is why she dislikes doing things with 'normal' people. Normal people don't care about such inconsistencies and just forge ahead ignoring the stuff that doesn't make sense. Dd can't do that and becomes paralyzed because she's worried she'll make the wrong decision and then be told she is wrong even though she followed all the instructions.

The Third Amigo is getting married today and ds is Best Man so my thoughts are with them today.

I'm still in bed. Haven't had lunch yet. May end up skipping it. I'm tired and want a nap but also want to get up and eat something. But I'm afraid I'll get overtired if I do.
