Re: Tuesday 5 x 5
Good Morning
I'm getting ready for the day. Just taking my time as I do not have any duties until 3 pm. I will be taking a coupon that I forgot yesterday and hoping to get my $5 back from purchases. This is the booth that sells the wonderful microfiber that I love. I was able to get brown towel and bath mat for my brown bath at the house (the aqua looked bad as did the powder blue). I also bought a VERY expensive lipstick. But they say it works wonderfully with chapped lips. We'll see. I've been using Avon samples for the last ?? years from DH's sis.
Last night we heard a really big boom in the campground and now found out that quite a few people had no electric for several hours. Probably a transformer blew.
Time to move. TTFN

Re: Tuesday 5 x 5
Finished up my task for the day. All the books, except the French section, are now categorized. Next week will be computer work, entering my hand written notes into the data base. Hopefully the week after that we'll be able to create the new, smaller, data base (by eliminating all the books I haven't updated. That puts me on track to re-open the library as of the first week of October.
It actually has been very cozy working here. This space is the old sanctuary of the church (it was built in the late 50s and within a few years had to build a larger sanctuary. So it is a cavernous space. You'd think without lights it would be eery but 1.5 of the walls are floor to ceiling windows and with the sound of the rain on the roof, it is cozy. I used my computer to put on music so I wasn't working in dead quiet.

Is it raining EVERYWHERE today? At least for most of us who've checked in so far. We've had almost 1/2" this morning. I'm almost 'ready' to get out of here for a while. Really need to do some shopping but hate going out in this soup. Should be packing for dh and just donwanna. Yep, today is definitely a 'climb under the covers' day. Good for you, Harriet, btw.

Re: Tuesday 5 x 5
Got the previous done -- thankfully, I do not have to take the lunch form till pickup time, but I did put it on the front seat of the car already, so I won't forget it myself. Did take a while -- lots of the laundry needed pre-treatment, and the dining table was pretty well buried.
Looks like I need to stop at the bread store, but that can be done at pickup time.
Waving to Kathryn, Harriet, Nancy, MT, and Dee! Wondering why the office light where Kathryn's volunteering is supposed to be left on (though I suppose the potential gloom of the space may warrant it). Wishing pleasant dreams -- and comfortable sleeping -- to Lynlee.
All the comments on the rain/gloom caused me to look at a weather map, Dee -- looks like most of the U.S. east of the Mississippi (and the corresponding parts across the Canadian border, so far as they will show on the U.S. map -- is rainy, or at least under cloud cover, today. Not looking good for those outdoor chores, Harriet.
Feeling a bit left out that I don't have chickens, but I couldn't if I wanted to -- it's illegal to keep them (or any other sort of livestock) in our 'burb.
Next 5 here:
• flip wash
• tidy the couch (including taking my pillows back upstairs) and coffee table
• check on the playroom -- DD was to have tidied it before bed, but with hockey, I don't think she did
• figure out dinner
• make lunch
*Poof!*

Re: Tuesday 5 x 5
No, I couldn't keep any animals here either, except dogs & cats. There's plenty of dogs to go around. I don't think there's a 'limit' here as in some campgrounds. But it's beyond me how anyone keeps 2 and 3 large dogs in an RV!
I did pull out the packing list (on my laptop) for dh for racing. I have puttered my way to having most of the list done and sitting in the 2nd recliner -ready to go in his travel bag. Most of what's left I can't pack until tomorrow or until last thing -like his phone/charger. They're staying in a hotel again this time, so remembered to pack his swim trunks. Haven't even checked where they're staying to see if he needs them. If the pool's outside -probably not. Even got his inhaler & med packed because he has extra of those. If I get ambitious this afternoon, I'll put meds up for 2 weeks and then can pack one holder for him.
Nice 'n cozy inside today.
Imagine dh will be coming shortly for lunch. Hmmmm....what to have!?
That's the only way I'm sure of NOT forgetting something important, Mystery. It's SO good to see you posting btw!but I did put it on the front seat of the car already,

Back from audiologist. He jacked up my hearing aids a bit and I find talking around me to be much clearer.
Sounds as though nearly all of you are "enjoying" rain today. We are not, and haven't had any for too long. One result is smoky. We are close to a mountain range west of town and can barely see it. Fires in the area, though ds didn't know exactly where they are. He was not in the least agitated so I'm not either.
We are in the throes of getting ready for winter. The grill which is on the carport all summer is being ready to be stored.I am planning to exchange summer clothes for winter ones. Probably tomorrow, or as soon as I get this week's laundry back. That is always a challenging job as I don't have much room to work.
Waving to all (I am afraid I will leave someone out if I start writing names.)

Re: Tuesday 5 x 5
Having lunch -- pineapple chicken from some "lite" brand's frozen entrées, though it's not terribly low in calories. Clearly, I did not read the box well. I stink at making lunches -- my girls may not mind sandwiches, but I prefer a hot lunch myself, unless the weather's really hot. So I generally go for whatever diet brand is on special when we go shopping; I try to keep the price below $2.50, or as close as I can, and the calorie count to under 300, but this entrée's calorie count is well over that. Tasty, though.
Got the previous done. Took a little longer than expected -- somehow or other, dd's backpack from last school year had mysteriously appeared in there. (No, it wasn't hiding there all summer; this summer we cleaned that room to within an inch of its life -- at one point it held only 5 sets of empty shelves, a credenza (also empty), and a daybed.) Anyhow, the backpack had a bunch of stuff in it, which I cleaned out. I was displeased to find some school supplies I would not have needed to purchase for this year had I known we had them -- and I needed to find room to put crayons & markers when the drawer we have them in is full to bursting.
Dinner will be veggie soup & homemade bread; must remember to measure dry ingredients into bread machine so I can start it as soon as we get back from school. (I use the bread machine for making the dough, but I bake it in the oven; I have yet to bake a loaf in it where the top wasn't sunken in.)
You're such a good wife, Dee! What you write about the pool reminds me of DD's trip to a hockey tournament in Pittsburgh a couple of years ago. They generally try to book a hotel with a pool; the kids look forward to it. But somehow, we ended up at a hotel where the indoor pool was out of order, and the outdoor pool certainly was not useful, it being MLK weekend, I think.
Hope you had a wonderful day, blessed!
mamap, did you move during my hiatus, or am I misremembering where you were? I thought you were in FL, but there are neither mountain ranges nor antelope there!
I suppose I should make myself useful again. Next up:
• clean up lunch
• put those dry ingredients into the bread machine while I'm thinking about it
• finish the laundry
• swiff the living room & playroom
• write a check for the locker divider we purchased for DD from the school's student council so I can drop it off when I drop off the lunch payment
We'll see how close that puts me to time to leave for pick-up.
