Thanks OK! I know my parents love my kids. The distance makes intimacy so difficult. They used to shower my kids with gifts too! The kids loved it.
Had some devo. time. I finished my last study yesterday, so I got to start a new one today, which is always fun.
Off to s2s.

great start and great comraderie here.
support group and pot of lemon grass ginger tea afterwards.
Felt I needed full body exercise - so filled the bin with a weed vine sprawling over tree and fence - after a tiny bit of digging out the same weed thats invaded lawn. Any leaf nodule bit of stem can regrow. and I'm needing to keep searching places I tried to clear before. And some that may have self seeded as I can't see any old bit of stem on some their roots.
Its late and I need do dishes.
Good night all - have a great day.

Good morning! (And good night to Lynlee -- pleasant dreams!)
I have been trying to compose a post to OKay, but it's emotionally hard given my own experiences. Know that you are hugged and loved, (((OKay))). I hope your "Nana's Rights" brought a lift to your day.
This is the most amazing, supportive community, isn't it? We pour our hearts out to one another, and their contents are accepted as they are. Sometimes I think it's because we can't see or hear one another. We get to know each other from the inside out, rather than the outside in. Thanks especially to our wonderful mods and admins -- and with fond thoughts of our dIndiana, who put so much into building and maintaining this home for us.
I must go and s2s: We have finally gotten our girls to embrace personal hygiene (by docking money from their allowance if they don't shower or bathe), but nights such as last night aren't going to work. They both dilly-dallied about their homework and chores until they were up too late, and both decided to shower this morning. But since I didn't get to bed till after they did (and I'm discovering that one disadvantage to having your kids relatively late is that soon, you need more sleep than they do), there was no way I could get myself up in time that all four of us could get in and out of our single bathroom before the girls left for school. But they left for school more than two hours ago, and here I sit, so I have no excuse. Off to take care of my own hygiene!
BBIAB! *Poof!*

51-81* It feels like fall here now.
My blood sugar reading was excellent today 91* so that is good!
Looks like a normal day out with some haze. Tomorrow smoke from
diff. fires is to be expected according to the weather man.
I have gotten the rest of the trash out to the curb this morning.
The water is going on the sideyard.
Egg candling results last night were disappointing might be lucky to get one egg to hatch from the looks of it I'm massively under enthused with what I saw hoping I'm wrong!
Laundry is going.
I'm happy with my progress on my BWP [basic weekly plan] so far this week feels great to be making progress on she cards.
Water deck & patio plantings done.
K in C I love the pedometer idea might have to borrow that if I come across mine.
Granny duty this afternoon.

ty for the good night wishes Mystery.
I feel for OK and her DD from both sides of the fence too, given my own mental health challenges. Children and little ones have to come first - their needs are so important. So caring for our own needs in terms of mental health is essential so that can happen.
Dishes are washed. I have a cuppa sleepytime tea.
Next up - tending my basic hygiene needs - then bed.

lucylee, don't think of it as being on the last page of the date. Think of it as being on "this page" of a scrolling set of pages! I always read any posts I missed the night before FIRST and get to the current day later, so your evening posts are on my "page one".
Great blood sugar reading Nancy - aw, sorry the eggs don't seem encouraging.
Mystery there is another sea-change at teenagerhood, when high-school-age teens need more sleep than they did at middle school age.

Harmony, you're going in for the same tests I had Friday, right? May your results be as good as mine although I don't know the results of the bone density yet. The reports were supposed to be to my dr. today I think. Now I need to make that dreaded appointment with her.
I am using a pedometer too, Kathryn, but I usually have a pocket. Except in the morning before I dress. I've been adding about 500 steps to account for all of them done before that. I'm vaguely remembering a story (not too long ago -this year) about someone who wore her pedometer meant for her waist in her bra and people couldn't figure how she was hitting 14,000 steps in a day when she didn't seem that active. Didn't know they made one for that purpose -will have to check that out.
Almost been thinking about asking for a shot in my shoulder to see if that would alleviate some of the pain. But I'm chicken too. Sure wish we could have a dr in FL (without being sick, sick, sick

) At our age we need someone both here and there. Especially when we spend our years 6 and 6. We do have a travel benefit when we travel but that's not quite the same.

helia, dd2 is very appreciative of all I do for them. She always thanks me for anything and everything, even for going to any of the kids activities, which I enjoy. Dd2 and her xh moved from here when dgd16 was a year old. 2 years later they divorced. For some reason that she still can not comprehend they remarried and had the 2 boys. The second time around was as bad as the first. Her husband fooled around and now there were 3 kids. 6 years ago he decided he was moving back here, with or without her. She was active duty N ational Guard working full time at the state level. Very good pay and benefits. She reluctantly gave up that job and moved back here in a last ditch effort to save their marriage. I hoped that with them moving back, he would quit running around. That didn't stop him and 10 months after they moved back, she filed for divorce. I did not raise her to be anyones doormat. I guess he thought that there was no way she would divorce him with 3 kids. How wrong he was. At that time I thought that 5 grandkids was it. Then she met her dh, who had never married or had kids. They gave me 2 bonus grandchildren. When I was diagnosed with diabetes, she found out she was pregnant with dgd3. Looking forward to that baby, was what helped me deal with the diabetes. Dgd3 and I have an incredible bond. Then dgd17mos came along. She thinks she is 6, but she won't talk more than a word here or there. She understands everything. She realized how close dgd3 and I are and wanted the same. She will walk up to me and holds us her arms, to be picked up. We keep telling her that she needs to talk, so that whoever will know what she wants. Recently, they went to McD and some of the others ordered shakes, for a snack.
Her mom ordered fries for her. She had a fit. Dgd16 and I are convinced that she sits up at night and talks to herself, in complete sentences, dgd16 adds. Dd2 lived away from here for 9 years and I never, ever thought she would move back, because of her job. They have now been back 6 years and I am grateful, every day that they are. Her dh really wanted more kids. She finally got it thru his head that at 36 for her and 37 for him, they have their hands full and if they ever want to be able to ski, etc., they need to get these kids a little older and they can do things like that. That is her story in a nutshell and I feel so blessed to have my 7 grandchildren. I could do without the drama that dd1 dd constantly has going on though.
Another thing that I am grateful for every day, is this village. scattered really nailed it today. I was just thinking that as each new person joins us, it is just like adding children or grandchildren to your family. You didn't know what you were missing until they came along and were added to the family.
Well I better eat, shower and get with it............

Nancy, I am sorry about your eggs. You've been trying so hard. The other day when DH was out at a couple farms getting manure for the veggie garden, he brought home a clear plastic container of brown and green eggs.
I am very grateful for all the time I've been able to spend with DGKids. It is definitely harder to be close with ones who live far away, and we've not been successful with that, but we have close relationships with those in this state.
Dee, I had same tests you did. Went smoothly. Remember to wear skirt or slacks without anything metal (buttons, zippers) and they let you leave your clothes on! Laying flat on the xray table, though, stirred up my acid ref. and gal went and got me a bottle of water. For all my trouble, they gave me a nice little tote bag to keep with their logo on the front. Free advertising for them as I carry it around, I guess, but it'll be great for trips to the library.
I'm going off to sew a bit today.

All shiny and sweet-smelling now!
Harriet, believe you me, DH and I are looking forward for the girls to hit that stage! DD is going on 13 and shows occasional signs of it, but I wonder if dd is just a night owl. OTOH, they get up pretty early on Saturday mornings!
Had not thought of putting my pedometer in my bra, Kathryn -- may have to remember that for those days (which I try to keep to a minimum) when I don't have pockets. (I long ago lost the belt clip for my pedometer.) Should be OK, as my pedometer's maker claims it will read accurately even carried in a purse. Oh! I just went to check on it and realized I didn't transfer it to my clothes (I'd had it in a pajama pocket). Will have to do that ASAP. Dee, I'm thinking those increased readings may have been due to jiggle -- which is not a worry of mine!
(Heck, I'd probably have more jiggle at my waist.
)
Going to work :15s till next TOTH (top of the hour, for those of you who are not familiar), at which point I will come back and enjoy my lunch with you!
:15 (OK, less by the time I'm through typing) unload d/w
:15 open blinds, clean up breakfast
:15 tidy bathroom
:15 start laundry
(Actually, I figure those last two will be more like ":30 tidy bathroom & start laundry -- the bathroom should take less than :15, but the laundry'll take more.)
See you at TOTH!
