OK so I marched right out side and turned off that water and got my s2s done yea! Turned it back on and as I was setting the next spot for the sprinkler remembered I was going to mow today. ~Sigh~ oh well I can do the back any way and the front later on. Flexiblity lesson learned!
More eye rolling ---

 My tip from the PBS Special today is my mantra today meditate on a walk or focus on.
"I'm having a good day!"
"I'm having a good day!"
"I'm having a good day today."

Dgd is here for most of the day & says I have to watch toons with her.

Here it is 11:15 already! Seems like I haven't accomplished much for being up 4 hours. :? But I do have several 'cards' done so should look at my "ta-das".

Been doing a lot of computer work/checking. Now think I'll start on inputting data from dh's notebook. Have the sheets set up ready to do that. Hoping I have what he wants. Can't wait for dd/dsonil's business venture to start and I should have some data work to do for them on the computer. Looking forward to doing an actual 'paying' job on here.

Guess I'd best be thinking "lunch". Dh will be here before I know it.

Me again. (Nancy) raspberries to all DH's who change our schedules around like we have no plans or ideas of our own. You're describing my life.

Lilac, have a happy, safe trip.

Had to stop and do paperwork with dh. Got that done and emailed away. Need to call county office too.

My dr. finally called. I am not crazy, this is real. I put stuff in the health thread. I must be such a baby about stuff. I did not read vents and gripes and complaints from others in our village when they were diagnosed with the same.

I had conversation this morning with DH about the work load around here. Yeah, like that ever gets me anywhere!

Alright, better get cracking. I might go out this afternoon if I can get my you-know-what in gear. I have 2 people to visits, they've been waiting a long time. (One tells me she doesn't have enough people coming to see her, she is lonely). The other one has only 1 other visitor. Sad.

Good Morning, Villagers! :D

I'm a "zombie" this a.m., am dead tired, so am cuop now.

My PODA for today is:
- To take a nap
- Crochet 1 -2 rounds on the toddler's afghan
- Put labels on Christmas cards
- Read on a book
- To write a letter to a writer friend and send her an outline story form I devised.

Nancy, I loved the PBS Special mantra!

I'm too sleepy to comment individually on posts, but I'm waving good morning to all of you. Have a GR8 day! :D

Finally, I'm done e-mailing. I did decide to split the special events off into an e-mail of their own. And I'm pretty sure the e-mails made it to their destination, because scarcely after I'd sent them, I got an e-mail from one of the coaches asking me to send another. It was a short one, but I should not have been the one sending it. Half the players on dd's team also play on another team (long story), and that team is supposed to have its own manager. :?

Having lunch now; hopefully, once that's done, I can actually attempt to do a couple of my dailies before I have to head out for pick-up.

I'd take advantage of dgd's request for some much-needed rest, Nancy. Don't know how much you need the rest, though.

Whatever you've done, Dee, it's more than I have, or at least more than I've gotten done of my own priorities.

Will have to check out the health thread, Harmony. You remind me that I should call my DGM, especially as I was not able to pay her a communion call on Sunday. I am looking forward to my cellphone arriving so that I can make phone calls while I am waiting in the car line; I know DGM will be happy to hear from me more often!

I know the "zombie" feeling, Ivy -- I've had 3 cups of mocha today, and the caffeine hasn't done a thing to wake me up, though it's doing a number on my innards. When you're looking in the fridge for the stuff you just cooked in the microwave, it's a bad sign.

When DH throws a monkey wrench into my plans, it's usually because he's had something planned for a while that he forgot to tell me about or put on the calendar. :x Speaking of DH, his cellphone ran out of juice when he was talking to me last night, so he won't be able to call me on his way home from the retreat to let me know when he'll be ready for pickup. I will just have to head over to his school after picking up the kids & hope he's back. Hmm... I should e-mail the other carpool parent & let him know of the delay.

Hmm... what shall I do after lunch?
• Send that e-mail to the other carpool parent; he may want to pick up his kids separately
• Need to get the dishwasher going -- there wasn't enough after dinner last night, but with breakfast and my lunch, it needs to be run if for no other reason than the sake of silverware & bowls.
• Tidy the bathroom
• Excavate the dining table
• Figure out what I'm going to make for dinner. Whatever it is, it must involve pork chops, as I accidentally thawed a couple more than I needed the other day, and they have been sitting in the fridge.
• Start a load of wash if there's time before I have to go.

Hello Dear Ladies,

We had rain in the night, but now it is sunny.

I walked today, told myself that distance and speed do not matter, just get out there and put one foot in front of the other.

So walked for 25 minutes and listened to 6 chapters of the Bible.

I got the vinyl floors swept and mopped. Dishes are in the dishwasher. Lunch has been made.

Off to shower

Hello,
My name is Okay and
I am a SIDETRACKED Home Executive.

Yesterday morning I posted my plan to focus on doing Dishes for 15 minutes. Simply, huh? Yea....except for someone who is an extraordinary sidetracker.
While cleaning the kitchen, I was chatting with DH about his plans for the day. He was going to straighten up his "Man Cave" (MC). I asked if he wanted to take everything out of the corner nearest the MC entry door and completely clean and reorganize that area. He thought that would be a good idea so I volunteered to help him remove everything from that area......by lunch timer we finished carrying things outside. We started with the corner, but instead of stopping and organizing that area we just kept carrying things outside until the MC was emptied out. It was unbelievable how much stuff had accumulated in the MC. It took a couple hours with vacuum to clean up all the walls, floor, work benches, cabinets, shelves and corners so it was ready to have things returned in an organized manner. I spent the rest of the day walking through the STUFF outside and grouping things into piles that had similar themes (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, vehicle rpr, fishing, etc). We didn't get finished by dark and things were still laying all over the yard in groups..... but no problem - we are in the 2nd year of being in the worst drought category there is. It should be fine staying outside overnight. Hum.....maybe we should have checked the weather forecast before we started this project. Guess what? We got hit by a HUGE storm last night - including wind that torn the top of neighbor gazebo, picked up and moved our 800 lb trampoline ....OH boy....talk about bad timing to have stuff laying outside.....what are the chances it would pick this 12 hour period to end the drought?  The storm tossed all the items laying in the yard and I'm sure carried some of them off. Our neighbors 1/2 mile away posted on FB that her yard is full of STUFF now....I suspect most of it is from our yard. When the storm started last night, DH and I look at each other, smiled then busted out laughing about it. If this is the worst we have to be concerned about, we consider ourselves very blessed. The clean up and recovery will have to wait until it stops raining (YES, it is still raining!!! HURRAH!!). I'm sure it will take 10 times longer and we probably lost a good portion of STUFF and/or it has been ruined by the rain. But it is just STUFF. On the meter of "what is important in life" it barely raises the concern bar.

Now....what was I suppose to be doing? OH YEAH! I need to take care of the dishes! *POOF*

LOL OK! That is SO ironic! I'm glad you and dh laughed about it last night. Did you ever figure out if it is your stuff in dneighbor's yard?

I spent too much time here yesterday, so I need to restrain myself today. :) You ladies are just too interesting! --I say that here from time to time. I know, I'm sure I sound like a broken record.

Just for the record, my first job, other than babysitting and lawn mowing in high school, was the summer after I graduated high school. I worked 40 hours/week in a plant biology lab at the Univ. of Illinois. I mostly did menial stuff - washing beakers, wheeling carts of experiments to and from some room -- for heat? Or cold? Or centrifuging? Or probably all of the above options. I had my own dishes of bacteria? I was supposed to be growing, only they never grew very well for me. LOL! I'm sure bacteria grows very (too) easily in many places where they're not wanted - just not in MY petri dishes where I did want them. I'm sure there were other tasks too; I just don't remember them. I did this with a girl from my high school, and we were under the supervision of a grad student. Sort of. . . . My favorite days were when we went out to the experimental soybean fields with the professor and counted -- I don't remember what we were counting, though. Maybe we bagged plants too. . . .. I actually found the job quite boring, and I really didn't like being stuck in a room with no windows for 8 hours/ day. I was happy when it was over, and I could start classes at the Univ. I was a science person in high school, thus I was recommended for this by my science teachers, as was the girl I worked with. However, my interests were definitely more animal biology than plant biology, and there is a big difference. After that summer, I decided I did NOT want to work in a lab. . . :)

Busy day so far. . I was at the church for moms group until 12:15 - set up, brunch, clean up. I had been home barely 10 minutes when the paver guy knocked on our door to look and give us an estimate on our brick entryways - and for the labor for the driveway. Dh and I talked with him. He'll send them to us in the mail. Dh spent the a.m. at home working; sometimes, he gets more done at home or in a coffee shop than at his office, where he says he gets interrupted all the time. He is off now. Then, I had lunch (small - b/c of the brunch), made an appt. for dd16 to have a lump looked at; I think it is a cyst - on her leg. It is not painful but is about the size of her thumb, and she is concerned. I put away the brunch stuff, worked on our island hot spot, and have just finished cleaning up the kitchen.

I am feeling sleepy; would it be bad if I succumbed to a 20 minute power nap?

Other tasks for this afternoon:
-make mammogram appt.
-quick vacuum of living areas
-meet dh for jogging at 4:30
-tidy living room
-work on laundry
