Good Morning Y'all..

Yesterday was a wash due to a headache. Its a cycle thing as I tend to get headaches multiple times during Fall and Spring.

The Blessing of the Animals has been practiced for many centuries by the Catholic Church. Its usually celebrated on the first weekend of Oct. However, other churches have begun to adopt this Blessing Day. I know some Episcopal Church have these blessing days as well. St. Francis of Assisi started it many, many centuries ago.

I have footprints to pick up and a bed that needs to be made. I did manage to get all the laundry done yesterday. The exterior painting of the house begins tomorrow. I need to remove all the furniture and "stuff" thats on my covered patio and put it out in the back yard. We are also getting the back yard cement brick fence painted the same color as the house. THAT'S what I am most excited about. No more looking at gray cinder block. Yippie!!!!

Okay...first time my son ever had strep he vomited just like LO. My son was sitting on the examination table when the dr. came in. The dr. asked why we were there. I told him about my son and his puking. The dr. looked at me, then looked at my son and said...sounds like strep to me. I was flabergasted. I said how can you tell, you haven't even looked in his mouth...and he told my how the strep causes mucus. The mucus is very strong and when it drips down into the stomach, the stomach tries to get rid of it. He was right and every time my son got strep, he went through the puking stage. My problem is every time my son got strep, I did too. Got to be a running joke at the dr when I brought my son it. If he had strep I would say...when you write a prescription of antibiotics for my son, you need to write one for me. Guess it must be common practice because I never had any problems doing that.

Dee, I've never been to a 'pet blessing', but I'm Episcopalian. A will is smart. We need to do one, too.

- showered, shampooed, dressed
- did some cards: a special fun day card, desk day card, heavy cleaning day card, busy & errand day card, and light cleaning day card
- put teas in a big jar away into the pantry
- dumped the trash
- took a greeting card box, from Christmas cards, fixed it up to hold my cards, ta da and to do lists, pens, pencil and a little angel. Looks tidy on my eating bar.
- Got out a top to wear later this week on errand day
- Put OMM list next to my SHE box on the eating bar
- Read my devotion, prayed, and wrote in my journal. Got out October's devotion booklet.
- Turned all the calendars around
- Soon will get breakfast and coffee.

Home from church. Have not cuop. Heading off to lunch out with dh at the diner. Will do grocery shopping while we are in the market town and then home for my nap. Dinner is already started in the crock pot and smells great. I also started the washer before heading off to church and those clothes are hung up and the ones on the drying rack put away.

Scattered: I substitute the apple cider vinegar for my conditioner, put it into my hair and let it soak in while washing my body body (so maybe 2 - 3 minutes.)

If anyone has dyed hair, look up the effects of this on that. I don't, so never thought about whether or not it would make a difference but my guess is that it would strip out the colour faster.

Kathryn, I don't use the a cider vin on my hair, but I did when I was a teenager. It helped keep it cleaner; I had a teen-ager's oily problem. I do soak my hand in it though. It's supposed to help clear up eczema problems, though I'm still experimenting. I believes it makes me peel...

Hi Debmaster. I was in Minneapolis almost 20 years ago for about 2 weeks. I was on the university campus. I might have been on the st. Paul side. I remember being disappointed when I saw the mississippi river. I thought it'd be prettier.

Am having troubles getting to sleep at night also, probably from all the naps during the day, but I can't get through the day without..so, it is what it is.

I'm trying to be nicer to myself (in my thoughts). I've been beating myself up for not being very productive these days. So, when I need sleep, I sleep. When I can be up I'm up. I will straighten this all out later.

Worked in the laundry room today after Sunday School. Wiped all the appliances and cleaned out and wiped the pedestal drawers. 1 drawer was full of rust particles from when DH finally took the front panels off, sanded, painted, reinstalled and calked the seam. It was getting wet along the seam and rusting badly, from the first time we started using them. I'd tried to sand and scrape and use appliance paint, but couldn't get it stopped. Anyway, I fixed my big box of dry soap which was caked solid, and scrubbed the big bottle of liquid where the spout had gunked shut..now it's much easier to get something done in there. I did a load of work clothes.

Only went to Sunday School again. Church sermons are too heavy right now. We have a bunch of stuff going on around there, and it's reflected in the sermons. I need some joy right now, and I'm getting that in our class instead.

Me too, Cowinkie. Only we had 5 and usually the Dr. would just say "here's yours too". I had had rheumatic fever quite a bit and strep was the one thing they absolutely didn't want me to get. One of the latter bouts I had I all but ended up in the hospital -and was told then, "Next time, no question, you're going in!" I still try to be careful not to get it. All my family knows I can't be around it. So, if the dgks have sore throats I'm forewarned.

We're going in to DS-A's shortly so dh can winterize their MH. Would be nice to get that one done so he's not doing it with the snow flying. Have to stop and pick up bread on the way.

People across from us moved out yesterday. They'll be staying at her dsis' about 5 miles from here, so they plan to come back for any activities. Ended up selling their RV and the new owner wanted to move in by Oct. 1. Unusual for someone to take over this close to the end of the year.

Been puttering at putting more recipes in my computer. Think I'm about done with any recipe booklets I had. Some books there'd be only 1 or 2 recipes I wanted to keep. Tried to really decide if I was pretty sure I'd use one or not. Lots look good, but am I really going to use it?

Back from lunch and Walmart.

On the way to lunch (15 minute drive) I went through the flyers and made up my grocery list. Marked where each item was featured and the price. Walmart had one item for sale less than the competitor (plus a number of great specials of their own) and matched every other sale price. Plus something scanned in at the wrong price so I got it for free after a price check.

At lunch I made up the monthly meal plan.

Tomorrow, I'll draw up a modified Holiday Grand Plan and start that. I figure I'll really need HGP this year in order to manage. I picked up a couple of HGP grocery items today (brown sugar, cake mix and cheese crackers for the nuts and bolts I make.)

I'm in bed now, about to have my nap. Had my eyes closed, seat back a bit and nestled into a pillow for the 15 minute drive home.

Got up from my nap and took care of emailing DS13's teachers, having a late lunch now and then need to get up and get busy. Not going to be able to sweep upstairs until the sun starts going down as it is very hot up there right now and I don't want to turn the AC back on.

DS19 just got called in on his day off!

I just CUOP-ed but not very carefully. I need to get moving right now and dh is driving me crazy. Oh.my.goodness. Yes, I asked him to put up a mirror and some pictures but I have to stand by to hand him the hammer, the pencil, to approve/disapprove and I've probably spent I don't know how long trying to CUOP just now.

Ok, now that the vent is out of the way....

We were home from the wedding last night night by around 8 p.m. and watched the FL state football game after I walked the ddogs last night. This morning, I got up and read the paper and walked the ddogs, then we headed out to meet a dfriend of dh's and his GF for brunch - they were in town for the wedding last night. After that we went to Tar-jay for a return and some supplies and picked up dog food at Petsmart, and got back home around two. I took an hour nap and have been trying ever since to get started on clean up and some of the things on my li%t for the day. This a.m. dh put together a bookshelf thing but has to go to Lowes still to get something to anchor it to the wall with, so it's in the middle of the floor.

-empty the dishwasher
-clear kitchen counters
-clear kitchen table
-get out FP for Oct
-start a lol (delicates, I think)

I did see that LO has strep and was throwing up overnight; wanted to say that throwing up was always a sign of strep for ds, usually before even his throat hurt much.

Hello to everyone! Realized I never even posted yesterday... we had a great day, just busy, and when we got home, I had to take a long nap. Then dh & I went to a movie -- End of Watch -- police movie about South Central LA... language is horrible, but movie was pretty good, and kinda sad.
Church today... and another nap... and now I really MUST get myself busy and finish grading papers. I feel like I could sleep for the rest of the day but there is sooo much I need to be doing! Laundry... grading... Sunday chores... * sigh *
Thinking how I'm going to be gone W-Sat so MUST get things in order a little bit here.

I have this problem re: napping, too, and now that dmom has started taking Paxil, she says she understands sooo well what I've been talking about! She says she just wants to eat and/or sleep ALL THE TIME!!! I said, welcome to my world. I know a reasonable person would be trying to get off this med, but OTOH, my anxieties are sooo much less with it, and I hate to try to switch to something different.

Waving to ALL! Maybe I can get back later w/something of a ta-da list!

Oh... and btw... I know Kathryn told me this is NOT my problem, but it is still driving me crazy!!! Dgs is past the 3-month mark, and the thank-you notes are STILL not even STARTED!
Yesterday, I complimented ddil on her nail polish and she said, "Oh, I got bored... "
I asked dmom... how can anyone get bored who has 50+ thank you notes to write!!!????
Of course, her excuse is that ds will not sit down and do them WITH her... so... *** SHEESH ***
I am losing hope that they will EVER get done!
I know it would look like, NO WONDER ds is lazy, if I just sat down and wrote them for them... but good gracious this is driving me crazy.

Lucylee, I take Lexapro and my doc and I think that's why I'm so into napping. It's gotten worse as I've gotten older, so your mom may be feeling more of an effect that you do. We've compensated by adding another med for the morning.

Oy, dh has gone off to Home despot so I can do what I need to do now. I hate to tell him that the mirror in the DR appears a little low to me....perhaps in a few days?

I've encouraged dh to take care of 10 items in his kitchen counter stack, hoping he will do so eventually. I also have laundry from yesterday that I asked him to put away..some of his drawers are so stuffed I want him to have the experience of stuffing his clothes into them.
