Beautiful morning here - ddogs got an extra long walk in the sunshine!
Dh is out to Torah study and then is helping at a community fair at a school near here. I'm thinking today might be the day to repaint the rocking chairs on the front porch...and use Roundup on some weeds around the front landscaping. Maybe.
Kathryn, when you said Citadel I thought you were in SC!
Tonight we're having dinner with some dfriends then watching football games, I think.

Re: Saturday Smiles
I'm sure you ARE a great gift, Kathryn. A couple of months ago would you even have been able to make this trip? Just the fact that you're able to be there makes ME smile!
I've puttered to some extent -enough to get this place so it's only looking semi-ready to be sent!
Not enough dishes to worry about so will wait for tomorrow for those. Think I'm going to pop myself into the recliner and try to read for a little bit. I'm sure I will be reading from the back of my eye lids in very short order.
Getting quite dark out now and I poked my head out the door to put a water bottle in the recycling bin -pretty cool too. Think most people took advantage early today of the warmer temps and good weather.
Dh's eldest db called last night to invite us to a get-together for his b'day on Nov. 24th. One dniece from CA will be there (but which one depended on whether I talked to him or his dwife.
) Doesn't matter -haven't seen any of his dks in quite a while.
BBL -maybe (as Twins says>>>>)

Re: Saturday Smiles
LO is feeling better! In the last 30 minutes he has....
** put music on and played his guitar and tamborine
** made a face mask from a tomato sauce box
(cutting holes in the box for his eyes then wearing it on his head)
** put some old keys onto his growing keyring
** attempted to use saline nose spray by himself and made a mess all over the floor
** NOT watched one minute of TV
** Now is doing homework on his computer (working on sight words)
Ahhhhh....life is back to normal.

Re: Saturday Smiles
So far today:
DH on the way to auto parts for gas filter for 4 wheeler
I've filled out request for absentee ballot for DH to mail
Dried and folded load of laundry.
Trying to decide what to do next.
Think I will go vacuum MH while it is still coolish
Glad LO is better
Glad KIC is enjoying trip
Cheering on Helia and DH on races
Saying hello to all
Looking at mountains against pure blue sky - gotta love AZ vistas.

Re: Saturday Smiles
lucylee, there's a book discussion in Across the Cafe Table in which you'd have expertise. Take 30 seconds for that and don't feel you have to give more. I just didn't want to you to be unaware.
I miss Nancy posting too, OKay. She would enjoy chatting about the 100th birthday goings-on with Kathryn.
TaDas
2nd load of laundry master linens
Wand vacuuming our mattress
Wand vacuuming in master bedroom
Stealth work in my ddad's bedroom
Recyclables gathered and to can
Mail to box (last night's mini Desk day)
Next up
Remake our bed
Vacuum carpet with beater bar
Later
Take dd to a party bring gift bag
Pick up a gift along the way

Re: Saturday Smiles
Harriet, you spurred me on to try to be more specific with my comments re: the book. I'm trying not to give away bits of the storyline. . .It is the kind of book that will generate a LOT of good discussion. Also, I did put up a photo of our molting chicken, Iggy, but I put it in Members Only b/c I couldn't figure out at the time how to embed/attach a photo (I know how now) and the link provides access to other albums of mine.
I am packed. A.m. routine is done. Dd14 is going to take care of the gift. I'm going to print out directions to the party dd14 is attending and then take her to her haircut. I did not get to the groc. store; I'll go afterward. If I don't go today, it will not be the end of the world. Traffic is probably awful right now as there is a BIG game here at 3:30; UMich vs. Mich. State.

Re: Saturday Smiles
Good Morning, Villagers!
Kathryn, I'm so glad the suitcase is with you now!
Helia, You sound like you're productive this morning. I hope DD14 has fun at the party.
Sorry about the traffic.
Harriet, You're productive, too!
(I accidentally slept in.)
I'll peek at that book discussion, too.
Waving at Nancy
and OKay.
Emptynester, I hope you get the absentee ballot soon.
OKay, You've been productive, too. Glad LO is better.
Dee, I hope you continue to feel better and better.
Good Morning to Twins' Mom, Scattered, Harmony, and all you other gals.
My ta da:
- Ate, took meds and supplements
- Printed up a Novena for a new Saint called Lily of the Mohawks. A miracle was performed in our State and then she became a Saint. (I'm not Catholic. I'm Episcopalian.)
- DH stripped the sheets, pillowcases off the bed, and I'm on my way to run and get them started soon.
- I will do what I can today, when I can, and hopefully it'll be a productive day, too.
Have an awesome Saturday Smiling day, Everybody!

Re: Saturday Smiles
Very odd that my computer shows it's not connected to a network, yet is working perfectly? We'll see when I start to post this, I guess.
I am going to:
-clear and wipe kitchen counters and load the dishwasher
-straighten family room (newspaper, shoes, etc.)
-start a lol
-straighten up laundry room
-take Roundup out and get started!

Re: Saturday Smiles
LO sounds so cute! I'm glad he is feeling a bit better.
I overdid it yesterday, big time. I can hardly move today. My muscles all over are weak. I tried to nap while DGD did but couldn't go to sleep.
She wanted to go in the pool and I got her all ready, sun screen, etc. and then she wouldn't go in herself because I wouldn't sit close enough to get all wet. So we came back inside. She threw her sandwich (which she ate yesterday the same kind) in the garbage.
This was not a good idea to have her here. I've noticed if I have a really busy day the next 2 are not so good. Then I'm recovered and try to do a few things with her and I'm back to zero again.
I wish it would get grey and rainy. For some reason I don't like the sunshine. It hurts my eyes. Rain would be restful. Sigh...she is crying again...I must go see what she wants. Sorry to be so morose. 2 more days from now.
