I do meals for a week normally. or cook a couple days ahead and freeze so that anyone can take food. dd will be home again at thanksgiving so I am hoping to have enough for her to take back to school. She lives with 6 other girls in an apartment. I wish I could do a month's worth of cooking. That's a lot of cooking!
I am exhausted... no reason... I do have to see what I need to cook for week so things don't go bad since I over goaled.
next bring boxes down to basement (halloween) - all the boxes are in kitchen ready to go down. all lights gone from halloween
I also need to wrap the witch we made as I think it will last another year.

I like the quote Nancy pulled out of blessed's post, but I will pull out another, too:
blessed I must give you credit for seeing this about yourself - I usually don't catch on to what my ego did to me for a long while after it led me astray!
Wow, is that the truth. I worked so hard on my kitchen before previous weekend when houseguests were coming. Right now it is so trashed. This happened through some neglect, through some sleeplessness/preoccupation for extended family concerns, but also because I just can't take a large number of projects, events, shopping bags, etc., etc. In other words, my dishes stay washed, but the surfaces clutter up with abandoned "I'll get to it when I can." items. Now HRH feels bad (temporarily), so I am really sorry I put some things off, like the recyclables, during a time we could have handled them efficiently.
... ...to proudly share with her room mates (where they would all be blown away by my cooking ability so not my inside of my head thinking but somewhere I think my spirit turned into a bit of a ego thing

now my house is filled with surface clutter as always when these things happen. (I have Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome which means someone will come over)

Re: November 2012 Card file Central
Dharriet - I hear you! I don't know how my dsil's and dmom do it. Even with all that they do they seem to stay with the decluttering jobs as they go. It's hard to keep up and do the every day life and extras's that happen. You have a lot on your plate and it is hard to keep up with those areas that have clutter babies and continue to grow like rabbits. my house has had mannnnny babies making themselves comfortable.
hi dnancy great job on church, walk AND bike ride.
Truth be told moment: always good.
I am looking at my house (not a home right now) and this is what I see:
dishes, dirty, on the counter and sink, dirty stove, cluttered counters, a floor that needs sweeping (after cooking so you can guess), each room had clutter on furniture, and my dogs have been shedding. dd's rooms have laundry not in their drawers after this weekend. I can see the hours needed to just declutter.
How can that happen in one weekend.
my biggest fear: that NOW someone will stop by my house (it always happens - not when it's clean but when Chaos takes over.
)
cat litter changed (we have to do it every 5 days as d old kittie will not go in it unless it is changed more often. (we have ddolders kitties (2) and our 2 kitties. 17 years old and 13 years old. our dd's room mates are allergic but we love these kitties and they are great mousers.
10:05 am
dh is doing dishes (God bless him)

Re: November 5 2012 Card file Central
today is clutter haunting day, visiting my dmil and dsil's for dinner
dining room:
Dining room table and hutch decluttered
but still has 2 cook books on there as I have to finish my menu plan
still need to: sweep or vacuum dining room
taking a picture of before and after of my kitchen (sounds silly but it is sooo bad right now and having a clean kitchen picture after this mess will give me a reminder that I can do it - the next time it happens which it will
dh is STILL washing dishes... poor soul but he is almost done
counters washed, 3 side shelves in fridge cleaned and covered with plastic wrap inside.. someone recommended this and so far it is making cleaning up easier. I still have to do the main shelves
went at 1:30 with dh for errands and then pick up dd; after picking up dd we went to vdmil for dinner and had a lovely time.
not home until now 7:55 pm. and exhausted.
What still needs to be done: dejunking in the family room, our bedroom, dd older left her bedroom as is mmmm, finish sweeping and rinsing kitchen
finish laundry and dogs blankets and brushing ahhhhh

Re: November 2012 Card file Central
I love that idea of before and after photos Blessed!
I have made the bed s2s is done, had coffee & pie for breakfast and swept the leaves off the driveway and steps. Feeling puny dgd had it already so will plug along as I can. Need to change chicken water and next box hay today. Then I'll refer to my BWP and see what's after that oh yes dump trash for trash day tomorrow. A good place to begin!
Harriet I to need to work on the kitchen some more at it's slipping staying on top of it is the best idea! I have done dishes dumped trash crock pot of chili is going now.

Re: November 2012 Card file Central
I had made a temporary Correspondence Catch Up check-off card.
These were chores like calling one cousin to get another cousin's correct address - that sort of thing. Also a get-well card needed to go out to my late husband's cousin, etc. Checked each item off in red as I did them, so I'm pleased with that finish.
My cardfile that serves as my address book has gotten some new organization, too, because of the Christmas Card effort. I made a stack of cards that are really not relevant to our lives any more but we still might need to refer to, and I put them into a baggie, well marked. Now they aren't in the way when I look for addresses/phones we really DO use.
blessed, you are so brave these days. Before and after photo-taking. You are fierce.
clutter haunting day ?
Nancy I am with you in the kitchen. For my kitchen today I handled all the recyclables and got them out (space stealers). Did a sink deep-clean. Am half-way through with a pot that was especially hard to handwash. After soaking I'll get that finished. All other dishes have been washed as used. Need to mop.

Re: November 2012 Card file Central
that is a really good idea dharriet - do you mind if I borrow it? LOL I meant clutter hunting (I think though, maybe, the clutter may be literally haunting me. lol)
dnancy my BWP is in shambles right now; what do you have on tomorrows cards.
I have a "focus" card - misc. things I need to do to get ready for Thanksgiving and I am trying to get one thing done a day. (i.e. today I cleaned 3 side shelves in the fridge and put plastic wrap on them (friend said that works for her to keep her fridge clean - I will see).
something I want to do and not sure how to on cards. I have misc. relatives that I need to check in on - i.e. my uncle twice a month (bring fresh fish or meat as he is a wonderful cook but his wife is so ill that he can't leave much - if I go any more than that he doesn't care for that) Then I have an aunt whose dh may is doing better etc. (also I want to add in cousins just to write to at different periods to stay in touch - so that a year doesn't go by and we loose touch)
