Very nice walk for me and ddogs. All the way down the hill on the other side and back up through the undeveloped lots where they can sniff out a lot of interesting creatures. No turkeys today, tho I did see them one morning this week down the street.
Dh is home, pulling apart the pork butts and is going to play tennis soon. I think we're going to a 4:30 movie, and will have smoked pork for dinner!

I've been outside doing chores and yard work for an hour this morning it's mild and sunny

trying to get some things done before rains come we will have rain all week here if the forecast is correct. Chickens have been fed, breakfast is done, journaling is done as well. Bulbs are in except the onions.

What a wonderful day, Twins.
That is the good sort of sidetracked, scattered.
Dd14 has auditioned. She said she made some mistakes in the 2nd movement. She does not have her heart set on this, so that is good. Her dfriend has been picked up and both of them deposited back at the clinic. Dd17 has a friend over and they are baking for another friend who was hit by a car last week. She was injured but is out of the hospital now.
Ds emailed and that was a highlight. He is (so far!) consistently doing very well in his classes, which is nice to hear. He also has been contacted by the software company he worked for last summer (and the summer before last) about another internship this coming summer. So, he wants to know our summer schedule. Ds is helping dh at the soup kitchen this afternoon, and I think he'll stop by our house this evening -- while small group is here, likely.
Lily is not doing well, and that is a lowlight. I think I'm going to call the emergency vet. Her wound opened up again about a week ago, but it seemed to be closing up last week and she seemed to be doing well, so I didn't call the vet. Today, however, she's not looking very happy, and no one can touch her hindquarters/tail, where the wound is. She originally had an infection in the wound, but it cleared up (we all thought) and the wound closed with antibiotics. It is weird that it has re-opened. Maybe there was some residual infection. . . . . I don't really have time to take her today; not sure if I'll punt until tomorrow or just do it anyway. Maybe I can call and make an appt. for tomorrow?

Good Morning, Villagers!
I like that "Saturday Action", too!
Just a quickie post here. It's stormy here so I'm shutting down the computer. Things I want to get done today are:
- Read some computer print-out articles on procrastination, etc...
Think they'll help with work and crochet projects, etc.. Deadline "stuff".
- To crochet for Dson and DD today.
- To try to crochet a spiral scarf, which I'm "scared" of trying, but think it'd be so cute on DD because she's 4' 9 1/2" tall and the spiral scarf is short, too.
- To read on my Nook. (I found out from several sites last night that a Nook Color can hold 6,000 books!)
I'm so happy! No more guilt at ordering free books.
Have a great Saturday Action day. I'm working on goals for the New Year, but I need to take "Action" first, before incorporating them into my life.
So Action begets Action.

My 'action' today has been very little. DH was up and in the bathroom a lot during the night/morning hours. So I crept out of here as early as I could and let him sleep, albeit not very well. Only to find that dd had also been sick since about 8:30/9 last night (same time frame). We began to wonder if it was something they ate at a school function yesterday (they were guests of the parent's organizatin for lunch). So dd called one other she knew had the same thing for lunch -yep! Tummy troubles. Finally saw posts on FB from some others. So, how does corn chowder (common denominator) become a culprit? Think because dh already has compromising issues with his stomach/esophogus, it even hit him harder. One poor teacher was driving from here to TX today Feel bad for the person who made the villain.
Have to go pick up prescriptions for dh and gd later. Doubt dd will feel like going.
Did get my 'action' going in the kitchen and got that cleaned up. Now wondering what to fix for dinner -sure those 2 won't want much, if anything. But that still leaves 3 of us to eat.
DS-R called just a while ago to let us know he found a snowmobile crossing sign. DBIL had said he'd love to find one to put on his drive back to his place. He has a sign that says 9 1/2 MPH that he found in North Dakota I think. We told ds if he came across one that had been knocked down or something, that we'd like it to give as a Christmas gift.
Kinda nice out today -just a laid back day here.
Had to break and show dh a video on FB of new dgs. He's growing up way too fast! Other dgs13 took video and posted it. What an age!

Dh is back in bed sleeping again. Poor guy. DD is cuddled in the recliner with her 'blankie' over her. Glad they didn't have anything pressing to do today. We had planned to go to an Open House to celebrate the 60th anniversary of one couple today, but they were in no shape to wander out.
About all I've done is the dishes. Not much of the house I could do too much in with the two 'sickies'.
Tomorrow we have a Memorial Service after church, but think I'll be the only one going.
Got our electric/septic bill from the campground today. Ouch! Suppose it could be worse! Now to start saving for next year -after we pay this bill. Electric was better than last year, I have to admit, but wish we could get it even lower. It was $583 for the entire summer. Dcampowner doesn't really 'make' anything on the electric. He pays the bulk payment monthly and then charges the campers the average cost per kwh at the end of the year. Came to 0.1599 per kwh this year. That's about par. It's higher because he's charged at a business rate.

I decided to take Lily in. 2:15 later, I'm home.
She is fine; the abscess ruptured in the office -- I'll spare details but it was very gross and Lily felt much better afterward. I decided to go ahead and have them take care of her while we were there. I did stop by WF en route home to pick up necessary ingredients for tonight. Now, dd17 and friend are still baking in my kitchen. . . . They're cleaning up now. . . The house is a little messy too. Yes - no food and teens in the kitchen and a messy living room (and kitchen) and small group will be here in 1 hour. Thank goodness, these people love me regardless of how my house looks. I'll do a quick pick up while the girls are finishing working in the kitchen.
