Good morning!

Today I will get groceries, drop off recycling and take a return to the library. Should put up Christmas tree after that. Decided to use the tall tree and put it next to fireplace by the side window. DS and DDIL will have to sleep on the air mattress next to tree since DD will already be here in guest room when they arrive. Oh well, it can't be helped. The extra bedroom downstairs is not ready for human habitation (needs new flooring and ceiling tiles and paint...). Our third bedroom on main level is the "office", which is too small for the air mattress anyway (unless we empty the room!). It helps to think through all that here.

Harriet, I will await your signal to send my Christmas cards, so don't forget me!

Was feeling "down" yesterday, but then I saw a lady on TV who is a quadriplegic and has had breast cancer...and she inspired me! My only limitations are my own laziness. Woke up being thankful that my arms and legs work...and my brain, to some degree! So here I go to make the most of this beautiful day.

I am motivated to keep my progress in the house, to keep the neatness and clean spots so hard won the past few days. I have put several things away with that in mind.

Helia, yes, Toddler I was talking about was the one I watched for 11 days recently. She was potty training then but that has been discontinued due to lack of progress (or lack of consistency of parents I think). This morning all the garbage and recycling was picked up...and the garbage included 9 very heavy diapers that I had responsibility for.

One set of sheets and extra pillow cases is hanging up so far; towels have been folded. I did a huge mountain of paperwork at the desk, including 2 bank accounts reconciled and a statement made and sent out. Good start for the day.

I'm up and at it but didn't have time to post.

Ds got up when I was coming downstairs and made his breakfast (I started the boiled egg but he finished the cooking of that and the bacon.) He's also had several clementines and lots of juice and water. No shortage of vitamin C in his system. He still feels lousy but is trying sitting up in the recliner for a while this morning. That gave me time to air out his room for 5 minutes and raise the blind so the sun is warming the room back up.

The sun is out and the neighbourhood looks magical! Environment Canada says it was a dusting but, as they say on the radio, you don't shovel a dusting of snow. At least an inch is down possibly more and it isn't melting quickly in the sun so it must be quite cold out.

I've exercises, s2s, chatted with my music friend (her dsil left and moved back in with his parents) and my senior friend (who was calling to say thank you for yesterday.) Plants are watered and tended to (the Christ cactus bloomed early so I needed to deadhead that and there are spots on two other plants that needed wiping off.) Dh and I practiced the anthem and now I'm going to sit in the dining room and work on my devotions because it is a nice sunny room.

Notes to keep myself on track this month
This week looks pretty calm. Things that need to be done by Friday:
* Print address labels for newsletter
* Buy stamps for newsletter
* Take newsletter and class instructions to copy shop tomorrow morning.
* Fold, tape, label, & stamp tomorrow afternoon, take to P.O. Wednesday morning
* Bank deposit for library group
* Send out Email reminder for class
* Cut fabric strips for class, fold and press. (Class is Tuesday 12/4)
* Buy plastic bags & binder clips for class kits; scissors? needles?
* Dig out table-top tree and put in car trunk
* Finish clearing out the shed later in the week when it will be warmer outside
* Keep working on 2 research projects -- 1 a music question for DMom that is part of her Christmas gift, the other a nutrition question for me
* Decide on gifts for DH & DMIL
* Try on holiday outfits to make sure they look right!

Next week:
* Update address book to mail a few holiday cards
* Sewing group financial reports
* Library group financial reports
* Clear counter space & set up holiday decorations
* Hair cut?

I had no idea there was more to Miffy! I thought it was just a stuffed toy. I've enjoyed reading about it and will probably be ordering some Miffy books for future gifts. Thanks for clueing me in!

Good Morning Villagers!

Motivation? I'm motivated into getting back into a good nighttime routine of going to bed at 11 - 11:30 p.m. and getting up no later than 8:30 - 9 a.m. Last p.m. I laid in bed, thinking about how I didn't put "Mrs. Bobble Clock" in my desk office drawer with a pillow over her. She's a talking clock and at 7 a.m. she tells us the time and temperature in my office. I tip-toed to put her to bed, then laid in bed until 1 a.m. before I finally fell asleep.
Also, another motivation for me getting up earlier is this: I take Synthroid, wait 60 min., then take pills for IBS and need to wait another 30 - 60 min. so when I get up later, I take pills later, wait later, breakfast is later, so is my shower and my entire day is "off" and later! So this is why I want to get to bed earlier.
I'm motivated to walk daily because it makes me sleep better, fall to sleep easier, which would help the sleep-wake routine.
I'm motivated to crochet for holiday gifts, just "because" the people are so sweet, are giving to me and I want to give to them, too.
I'm motivated to write outlines for stories, get stories written and sent because it means I get paid.
So I have a lot of motivating things on my mind to do and get done, but I just remember these things:

1- Baby Steps!
2- Plan, Prioritize, and Pace!
3- Progress- not perfection!
These 3 things help so much!

MysteryWoman, I've never heard about the Miffy theme song. I probably know the tune, but can't remember it. So Miffy is a toy, but there is a book that goes with it, but does it have a song, too?

You have a lot of company coming! Wow! What fun for the massive sleepover, too!

Good Morning, Kathryn! Snow? Wowie-Zowie! We got frost this morning with sunshine. It's pretty with sunshine with your snow.

Harmony, You have good motivation, too. I should pick up better after myself. I'm like a little kid. Good for you, on your neatness.

Helia, I collect bunnies and have a bunny room for them and they're not the dust bunnies variety that I collect either, but they do show up on occasion!

Elly, It sounds like you're motivated about the tree and sleeping arrangements, too.

Harriet, Oh, Dick Van Dyke was so funny. Your dd will love it.

I never heard of tickling look at like that. But I suppose we all have our reasons behind certain things.



It frosted here last night, my small office was 62* and now it is 67* F. So it's warming up.
