I have a few ways I'm thriving today when I picked up the laundry I thought of how I could not do that when I was first out of the hosp. after my diagnosis of type 1 diab. I've come a long way and did not have to have the e.m.t.'s come this yr. to revive me with glucose I. V.
Chickens are great dgson and a friend from school helped I'd forgotten the straw in the lower next boxes so they did a tour of the play house soon to be converted to chicken coop. Then when dh got home he closed up the pen for them for the night.
I had a good conversation with dson and he mentioned that we could just do a wooden box and separate off a part of it for the chickens I love it when I get a new idea like that to mull over.
Got the 2 gift bags done last night and made the crochet chains for draw strings to get those in the mail this week. Love that! They are pretty too.
I have pumpkins / squash to process the garden appeared to thrive this year as well! After picking a couple of late pumpkins they turned orange after I brought them in just before frost here.

Home from delivering LO to school and taking DMom to her lab work. DH stayed with DDad while we were gone.
I am eating breakfast almost 3 hours after my normal eating time. Things are off schedule this morning, but will eventually catch up and get back on track.
DNeice is at 9cm so baby boy will be born at any moment!

Minor tech crisis in the church office that was resolved without me (thankfully, since I didn't have the password to fix it) but I was in the loop and able to offer to sub in my computer if necessary so I get the brownie points without the work! (All office email is sent to my computer as well and it has full network access in the office so can print using the heavy duty network printer. The bulletin and announcements had been sent to the office computer which wasn't opening files today, so they resided on my computer as well. Nice to have automatic backups in place.)
I've dusted the main floor and am now putting out two bins of decorations. My sister and I were having a competition as to who had done the least for Christmas. I've now lost.

LOL, dh is skyping with a friend who has just been diagnosed with vertigo. Dh asked if he was well enough to go to their meeting tomorrow and he said, "Yes, as long as you don't consider 71 ill."
Part of me can't believe he's 71 (and still working) and the other part of me remembers he was 'old' (I would have guessed around 60) when I first met him. In 1980. Therefore, my perception of 'old' has changed dramatically over the years!
Two bins are done. I think I might bring up a third since only half of my creches are out and I want them all out.
As I unpack an item, if I don't smile, get a warm feeling or am flooding with a memory, the item gets put in the give-away pile. (I'll decorate the basement bedroom with the give-away stuff and the kids can look over the items and see if there is anything they want to put in their 'keep' bins.)

Morning progressed more slowly than expected. But, a.m. activities are done. Dd14's accompanist returned my call and we have a rehearsal set up for next week. I was just about to walk out the door to the groc. store when I remembered an email from my dmom. She sent it yesterday, asking for some gift ideas, so I sat down and wrote a reply. She's kind of funny. She won't give me gift ideas for her and ddad but wants me to give her gift ideas for my family. . . . ah, well. That's the way it is. I'm almost done with lunch. THEN, I'll go. I need to get the pork going asap. . .
I like to hear of older people working, as long as they're enjoying what they're doing. I doubt dh will retire at whatever the official retirement age will be when he's at that point. My ddad is 76 and though he is officially "retired" from the Univ. (Ill), he still goes to his office daily, is on dissertation committees, and is actively involved in professional committees and organizations. I know he was recently re-writing something quite long, maybe a chapter for a book. It is all good for him.
I need to get back to a payroll job before I can "retire." That will come. . . .
OK - off to the groc. store.

Me too! I love hearing about the experience and knowledge of older people not being wasted. It is wonderful especially when combined with youth and energy.
DNeice isn't going to be able to deliver naturally because her pelvic is too small. They are prep'ing her for c-section.
Lunch is ready.....just waiting for DH to arrive home. I made egg salad sandwiches.....using up the extra hard boiled eggs, the last of the mayo in a jar, the last of the mustard in squeeze bottle and the last of a loaf of Italian bread.
I like those recipes that combine a slew of NTBE (need to be eaten) ingredients.

I called it quits at 2.5 boxes. But before today is done, I'd like to get the three garlands up as well.
Minister will be over with the bulletins - she forgot her church keys this morning so can't leave them in the church.
I'm off for my nap, having had a light lunch. Am certainly tired enough for it.
