Re: Thursday Thunder
Ask and ye shall receive....
My outfit today is black dress pants, ivory turtleneck and I said to dh that I really need to have a Christmas 'silk' scarf. I put on a red flowered scarf and came downstairs.
As my tea was steeping, I thought of the present my minister gave me on Sunday and figured I should open it in case it was something to wear (she often gives me jewelry or scarves.)
You guessed it! A red scarf with gold musical notations and "I love Jesus" on it. Plus a Peace pin. Absolutely perfect for today, the 25th when I'm singing and on the 30th when I'm preaching. YAY!!!!!

Re: Thursday Thunder
HAPPY belated BIRTHDAY ELLYPHANT!!!
I'm up have been awake since four when I got up to take my first pill.
I did not manage to get back to sleep so after laying in bed for an hour just went ahead and got up at five, waited for an hour then plugged in the light and the roos started in crowing for 15 min.
but most of the neighbors were already up thankfully! LOL! Then H. said "I think it's time ..." I said you have to leave the red b/c one I want chicks! Red seems to be the smarter of the two roos. It took them a couple of weeks to figure out the crowing thing and they have it mastered now.
I've been reading up on chickens on a website learning lots!
Coffee is going going gone!
H. has left for work.
I've had breakfast.
Time to s2s in a bit.

Re: Thursday Thunder
Kathryn, outfit sounds pretty.
Scattered, I hope DAunt will be ok.
Dee, I love the signs! Have you seen the snow shovels down here people prop up somewhere either by their mailbox or maybe with house numbers on them?
I was up early despite being up half the night sewing. I'll probably pay for that later.
Laundry is ready to hang up. That's next.
Christmas cards are out in the mailbox.
I snapped a BIG bowl of beans and par-boiled them ready for the freezer and cooked some for tonight's dinner. Got some leftover ham from Christmas out of the freezer for dinner. DH says there's another batch ready to pick.
I swept the whole floor all over. Mat was not down, it was wet and muddy from the kids being here. I got told about that. Told DH, please take care of it, I'm busy. Sigh...why does everything have to be an issue?
Alright, I'm off to deal with the laundry, put another load of towels in, and go sew for a bit.

Re: Thursday Thunder
Dd2 called and said the daycare has changed their policy about being closed when school is closed. They realize mothers still have to work. They do reserve the right to close if we have had a massive amount of snow and the roads are closed, etc. So dd2 was trying to decide whether to take them to daycare. Dgd3 starting being naughty and that sealed the deal. They are going to daycare. I told dd2 not to feel guilty because there is work she needs to do at the shop, that didn't get done yesterday with her being at the hospital.
I need to wrap gifts and it is cooler upstairs than in the basement. I don't want to haul everything downstairs, so haven't gotten started. Duh, we have an electric heater than I can use to keep me warm while I get started.

Re: Thursday Thunder
Lilac, it sounds like dgd3 will benefit from the structure of daycare!
Status Update:
Off for lunch now.
Status Update:
Also cleaned out the car. I needed to empty the back of the wagon to check the under-floor bins for my ice grippers. They aren't there either (they seem to be lost along with the fish emblem that used to be on the back of the old car.) Put a poor, but better-than-nothing set in the back of the car, tidied and organized things to make more room for dh's stuff when he's singing. Moved the car into the sun and put the cheese trays and punch fixings in the car. It is just under freezing but I'm hoping the car will heat up in the sun and keep things from freezing in the next 90 minutes.Make up cheese tray for afternoon tea by 11:20 DONE!

Re: Thursday Thunder
Blessed -
I don't feel like much of a sewing goddess right now since I sewed a poscket backwards, causing me to have 2 right pockets.
Lilac - I am glad the daycare changed their policy, I remember when the boys were small and the Daycares would close, it made it very difficult for someone like myself who worked either in a hospital or on an ambulance... weather didn't matter I still had to work and with no DFamily around it made it very hard.
Kathryn - the outfit sounds beautiful and perfect!
Nancy - reading your post made me think of DAunt/BFF's struggles with roo's, all of them ended up in the pot.
She was just raising them for the eggs so she didn't need a roo.
Helia - It took me a minute to figure out what you meant by UP...
Thanks for all the wishes for DAunt.
I am seriously thinking about going out to buy another sewing machine... mine is very old and was cheap to begin with, it now will only do 1 stitch (straight) I have cleaned and oiled and tightened screws. The only problem is that I could only afford another cheap one, and then I ask do I really need it since this is the first sewing I have done in years.
I am rather tired... seriously considering taking a nap.
ToDo/TaDa
d2s
coffee
clean & oil sewing machine (hoping it will help)
pin & sew on pockets still working on this
sew in zippers
sew together fronts & backs
sew in sleeves
sew hoods
sew in hoods
finish jackets
Dinner

Re: Thursday Thunder
Meeting at temple took quite awhile and I hung out in the office and got several things underway with secretary, so it was 10:30 before I left. I am pushing errands to tomorrow - the rain is coming down today and there's no reason I have to do it all today. And it's really, really coming down, so I'm going to nap.
