Hello to everyone. (Dee).

It is a beautiful day here, bright blue sky and warm for this time of year, 85° already.

DDog (you know, the one who gets into every waste can, every counter that has food scraps, etc.) was really annoying last night. I tried so hard to get to bed early and was asleep when she woke me to go outside at 2:00 AM. After getting that done she followed me to bedroom where she snuffled around on my end table and grabbed my little medicine cup where I had my thyroid pill for alarm call in the AM. These are the smallest pills imaginable, and I got a brush and dustpan and after some difficulty found it on the floor. At least she hadn't eaten it.

So, of course, I wasn't up early this morning with all that going on last night.

I'm working on my last report and have all the information written, just need to type it all out. Going to visit my ladies finally this afternoon, stopping along the way at fabric store, dollar store for another calendar, and post office.

(((Mr & Harmony)))) Ouch! Is Mr Harmony willing to consider a hip replacement? Yesterday DBro scheduled his next joint replacement. He will have knee replaced first part of March.

** 6 dozen cookies made and packaged for travel/easy serving. (I didn't eat a single cookie!!)
** Baked beans baked/packed for travel/easy serving DH is delivering the funeral food for me.

MPB business has another equipment failure! AGAIN! This is the sixth equipment failure since the first of the year. Trying to look at the bright side.....at least this time it didn't flood the interior of the building.

DH and I had "planned in jello" to have a mini-date today. DH just told me we are still going to do it because it is suppose to start raining in the next couple of hours. The MPB being down won't affect many customers during rain. He said we need a break and if anyone didn't like it.....they could whip out their checkbook and buy the MPB and run it their way. I'm just thinking about the long hours of repairs that awaits DH and how he will be working into the night doing them because we played today.....even if it is raining. I know DH will be thinking about the repairs and not able to fully enjoy the date. It's a toss up - we can either miss having a special time together and do MPB repairs.......or have a mini - date and try to not think about how much work the rest of the day holds.

Next up - process the paperwork/receipts from the last 24 hours.

Quick post without cuop. I'm days behind again, but have learned not to try to catch up & just jump in where I am when I can get here.

Our Christmas tree is still up. We have had good intentions to work on taking it down but still --- it is up! We have lots of good(ha) excuses, though . Too tired, not home, one of us is home when the other is not, we still like sitting in the living room by Christmas tree light, & procrastination.

I've been thinking about my zones, & this week is the kitchen, pantries & freezers for me. Unfortunately I've only been thinking about them & haven't started the work that needs to be done in those areas. Not a good way to start of a brand new month & year. Oh well. At least I have been productively using my time in other ways, mainly catching up on leftover 2012 jobs that have been bugging me.

Dh just brought home subs for lunch. Waving ~~~~~ as I leave the village! Have a wonderful day

The range is cleaned, and out on the front porch. I've also cleaned where it sat and the MW above it.

Next up is fridge.

Contractor's helper is here working on water shut off valve so I currently have no water. Boo Hoo. Can't do anything.

DH is going to have them take the MW out, too, so we can send it with the range and fridge to HAH.

coq au vin is in the crock pot, dishes are washing themselves

? I tried making chicken broth but I think I put too much water in it to really make a good broth... any suggestions on recipes and or cooking process. I want to make a flavor filled stock.

Helia - we will be getting in the MH and spending 2 weeks in Quartzsite during the reno. That way DH won't micromanage and I won't have to live in the mess.

This is the usual practice around here. This contractor finds out what you want and names a price - then you go away (sometimes during the whole summer) and when you come back it is done. He has worked here for years on almost all the houses and everyone knows him.

All appliances are done except for the grates in the oven - letting them soak a bit. All canisters, etc. are off the counters. Floors wiped under where stove and fridge were. Think it is time for toes up.

Oh! contractor's helper is going to take the fridge as he needs one and will take the rest of the stuff to H4H.

Hi Everyone! Today was errand day for us. We stopped at the post office to mail a couple of letters, then went on to W-M for some groceries. We needed some fresh fruit and also got some fresh veggies for cabbage soup.

We've been back for a while and soup is on with all vegetables except the canned green beans. Today was soc. sec. payday, so now I'm going to do some desk work and pay bills.

DH and I had a wonderful 3 hours "running away" together. We went to town we rarely go and ate at a Chinese buffet that we had heard was good. It was. then we went shopping for guns. The gun store is almost empty. The owner said he begs daily for guns to sale and they usually sell the day they hit the store. For some STRANGE reason he did have a pink gun that no one was buying. It wasn't in my top 5 make/model but I loved the way it fit in my hand so I brought it home with me. The gun business is so crazy right now they store didn't even have bullets for it. They are sold out and when they get more in they sell out again within 24 hours. DH always keeps a good stock of bullets so we are in good shape. First I'm going to hold the gun for at least 8 hours before I shoot it. I want the feel and grip to not be strange feeling.
