I need to get going again and I am dragging today. Stomach is a little messy and feel like I could cry and cry and cry. Some of it is tax season hovering over me, some is my sister and those responsibilities, some temple responsibilities and the feeling that others aren't doing what they need to do and I have no way of taking up the slack right now.

-fold lol in dryer and take down drying rack
-reboot laundry
-make the bed
-brush teeth (whoops, didn't do that earlier)
-clear the kitchen tabe

Next round, I need to head upstairs to assess dd's room for dog sitter.

Kathryn, at least you have awhile for you and dh to talk through the move and to probably refine your wish lists. When dh and I first drove through the area that we moved to, my first thought was "Yeeeeeck!" Couldn't see myself living here - too far out from downtown, no trees, flat, scalped hill. It's very different now that a few houses are built and we refined out wish list. I'm less than 15 minutes from my office and temple.

The only thing that really hangs over us that we wish had been different is the "not-so-great" room, aka the great room that's not big enough. On paper it is 16 x 19, but the fireplace bumps about 2.5 feet into the 16 foot side in the middle of the room - with the couch directly across from the fireplace it is too close. The back side of the 16 foot side backs up to the breakfast bar so the overhand and stools protrude toward the back of the couch also.

Good morning, villagers ~
I had planned to come post last night after my meeting, but found that some bigfoot cat had stepped on the power switch to my surge-protector strip for the computer. I took the hint and stayed away from the internet, went to bed instead.

Paperwork is endless.

We have dark & gloomy outside this morning, slight chance of snow flurries but better chance of relatively warmish in the 30s. So far it looks like I am able to stay home today, and might even skip going to the post office for the mail.

Trash goes to the curb tonight. Today's plan will be to root out more stuff to toss in the bins.

I also want to measure and label a box full of fabric to donate to the library's fund raiser. If I really get on a roll, I can keep going and declutter 2 boxes of fabric this week.

Right now the wackiest idea I can come up with is to sit down and watch the latest episode of Big Bang Theory. Maybe a little of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 2 DVD I bought before Christmas. Shows how exciting my life is not at the moment -- and I'm fine with that!

I have gotten dgson off on the bus on time yea. We got up early had time for home work chores getting his bedding & mattress put away.

Chickens were outside when I turned off the light last night, it dropped to 17* this morning was not supposed to be that low last night. They were all inside this morning. Morning chicken chores are done.

Now for the rest of my day and tonight is the beginning of our whacky schedule for the next couple weeks. Found out that dgd will be w/ the other granny during the week and we will have her on the weekends.

I am feeling somewhat better. Tummy is still a little weird.

This time:
-agenda for board meeting tonight
-go upstairs and straighten up dd's room
-change sheets on her bed? (I don't think the cleaning lady did it on Monday?)
-reboot laundry when needed
-pay a medical bill

Twins: Does the bathroom arrangement on the second floor work when both kids are home from school, or do you end up just using the door from the hall so people don't walk in on each other by accident?

Oh, and I can see how the great room doesn't work well. Too bad the fireplace wasn't on the short wall or in the corner by the patio. That way your couch would be facing both the back yard view and the fireplace and not run into the breakfast bar space. BTW we have a similar issue with our breakfast bar except the 'family room' is much smaller, only 10' from the bar to the opposite wall.

I'm dressed. Had a snack. The eating plan is working for me as far as weight loss goes. Would like more energy though - that is definitely MIA.

Off for a walk now. Tomorrow a cold-front is coming through so this is the last day that will be great for walking.

WACKY WEDNESDAY! I love that!

My cat was on the kitchen counter checking out my decorative box full of b-day cards. She "knows" (HA!) she's not "supposed" to be on the counters or table, but she's a cat and she thinks she has the right to jump up.

I need to work on a story today, I WANT to write pen pal letters and crochet on this beautiful beret, which turns out looking like a slouch hat. Made DD one, I tried it on and it's a "must have" for ME, too. Also, found a "Curly Scarf" at Lion Brand, which was featured on Martha Stewart's show, is said to be very easy to make. I've got the patterns, hooks, and yarn in a tote by my chair in the great room. Just haven't made them yet.

Another thing, after s2s today, will be to make the bed pretty again, fold the socks and underwear on the sofa, gotten out of the dryer this a.m. and it is to write on my story. The deadline is Fri./18th, but will send it on Thurs. the 17th instead.

Another thing I "need" to do is work on my receipts, expense records, earnings, etc.. for the accountant, so it's "Desk Day" for me today and ooooooh, I don't feel like doing them! I wish I could be lazy today and work on paper stuff another day. The s2s is first, laundry folded and will take "things" from there.

It's WACKY how things seem to pile up on us, isn't it? It's like things to do seem to breed in our sleep, we wake up and HOLY COW! I just try to remember FlyLady and "Baby-Steps"! Also, P & P have the "On My Mind" list, which is so super! You just write everything down really fast that's on your mind, and then prioritize them and get it all organized and just get to work. So smart! GR8 idea, too!

New layer? Today I got an egg I did not recognize about half the size of the other eggs hoping that it's from one of the young hens! Yea!!! I'm so excited. I heard lots of cackling going on in the coop this morning so that was definitely a good sign! This looks like a what I would think the size of a banty egg I've not seen one but it rolls around in the carton. I just hope it's not one of those whacky eggs with no yolk.

Mid-morning chicken chores done and I've gotten the counters some what spiffed.

Fog is trying to burn off again.

Nancy - I'm enjoying your excitement with the chickens.

Harriet - you are hilarious! I just wish those things mattered to DGS17 and his friend. His friend is 16 years old....very smart (was in AP classes)......well spoken....good looking....speaks well to adults....from the outside looking in, he is an awesome young man with a bright future in front of him. However the "selfie" attitude has almost ruined him (IMHO). Both of his parents are RN's and both work long hours. He is allowed to have friends (boy & girl) over while they are working. They give him most anything he wants. The combination leaves him with loads of free time and money to do with as he wants. Over the past year, he has fathered a child quit school (he is going to homeschool himself ) and developed some bad habits (smoking, drinking and who knows what else). All with his parents okay and funding. DGS17 stays at his friends house all the time because there is almost unlimited activity , entertainment and "things" to consume. DGS17 father is okay with it (he has a "boys will be boys" attitude about it). I see DGS17 being in an environment that is a disaster waiting to happen. I wish DGS17 had a Mom to grab him by the ear and hold on until he got back on the right path.

LO has kept 3 crackers down! Progress! His energy level is returning along with his non-stop chatter. I love

This morning I needed a task that could be stopped & re-started in an instant (primary focus being on LO care). I decided to continue deep cleaning in the kitchen. I emptied one cabinet at a time out. Washed everything (cabinets and items inside). Decluttered and put things in cabinets in a organized manner. This is very time consuming but was a perfect tasks for this morning.

Most of my plastic containers didn't make the return to the cabinet. As I rewashed them, I looked closely and saw things that had become "normal" to me. The inside of the plastic bowls had nicks on them. it happened so slowly that I didn't really "see" it. I threw almost all the plastic storage containers away.

A few of the glasses were tossed too. As they were rewashed, I ran my finger around the lip of each glass and looked for any that had chips.
